Quite early, BUT low prices, lots of Pass Ins. What’s happened to NZ female lines. Become quite weak I think. Hope like hell for then and hope prices improve.

Have to largely agree Breeder: hardly a great Day One catalogue.

Hopefully some on here will become more engaged in discussion, however don't think I'll do so unless someone asks for an opinion about a particular lot.  Cry

Looks like Day 2 is better, which has generally been the case in recent years.

Just had $2.4million Savabeel filly  -- to Chris Waller / Guy Mulcaster. A full sister to Orchestral.

I've only watched 2/3hrs but was taken by the presence of this guy, regardless of pedigree. However, it remains to be seen if Busuttin/Young can keep him sound enough to show his ability Wink

Carioca and Gay3. It has certainly stood the test of time. The complex is about 35 years old now. To me it is a great piece of architecture.

Fwiw I looked up the purchases thus far by trainers we've had success with.  A total of 15, most sold for anywhere between 80 and 150k with some in the 200's.

To be honest I liked just one, with most having weak or ordinary female families and the three that sold in the 200's only did so because they were by top sires.

All that on pedigree, not type.

Jeez that’s my pet peeve. People really need to stop breeding with poor specimens. Adds to the danger for jockey and horse, plus so so bad for racing PR
