Re. the ECL - I’m watching it, mate.
The Weather Nerd says it’s too early to call it (unlike the mainstream media ) as some models are downgrading. And I personally don’t have the Flood Feels - but yes aa, I’m prepping just in case. Winter floods are most unpleasant; do not recommend.

Greater Sydney Dam levels at 98%
Won't take much for a major spill at Warragamba.

My uggs are glued to me feet, Ponies . Only come off to shower and bed. Thinking of buying some thermals too. When I came home from overseas I brought some leg warmers with me, and they never got used so they went to the op shop, but by gee I wish I had them now . Bloody tap busted thru the night and drained most of the hot water away before we heard it, so looking forward to a cold shower. Our water heater is off peak. The dam here has just settled down after the floods and we dont need any more water. The yard is bare of grass, just pretty much mud if you walk on it. Think I will just have to move into the pub and sit by their big blazing fire , until spring comes.

Remember the 80s leg warmers? The best! Especially with some gold lurex woven in ![]() I’d die without thermals - even wear them under fleecie trackies ![]() And highly recommend anything Sherpa. Plus hibernation in the pub ![]() Gotta go. Coffee break while stacking firewood. Catch ya’s later!

Get one of those heat pads you stick in the microwave , Furious. Only takes 2 mins to warm them up and are bliss on your back. Buy them at the chemist shop . Oh those leg warmers !!! Lived in them in English winters. Been on the lookout for some to buy but they are few and far between .

We already have extra SES and others deployed here in town tonight. People who live below the dam are worried. Last week it turned 100 years old, and to the best of our knowing, very little work has been done on it since. There is supposed to be a warning system in place for those along the river, but as of that last heavy rain, when Taree and Kempsey got smashed, and the locals had to evac, no one got any warning at all. Its raining now, the dam is full, and the ground saturated. I am so lucky we live on a hill away from the river, as long as the dam holds.

You fellas south of us must be copping the worst. We had a bit of rain last night, and its drizzle this morning, but nothing at all like they told us was coming. My friend from NZ just rang and she said the North Island and the top of the South Island are getting hammered and its coming from this way. Stay safe you that are copping it. Get the water wings out Ponies. |

First time I've had to turn the fans down, I keep them on 24/7 to keep our apartment from becoming stuffy or damp, helps a lot. It's quite wet out there but nothing serious, just steady blobbers of rain.

Yes - mainly light to medium would be my assessment. Actually stopped in the North side at the moment.
Hopefully we will get through it without too much flooding....although Warragamba must be close to spilling

Shout out to the brave ponies, who all trusted me to lead them home in 100kph winds and sideways rain. Then stood like statues while I changed their rugs. Proud of team!

Great news bp. It's blowing a gale out there. Daughter turned off the expressway and a tree came down in front of thr car before her. No injuries but everyone out of there cars trying to move the rotten thing took them awhile. Luckily no power outage yet so she had a warm shower.

Glad your daughter got home safely, furious. Falling trees are my biggest worry. Driving in this weather would terrify me - I’d rather be in the paddock than a car!
I hope aa and her community are ok. The front seemed to move up to the Hunter and has been hammering there. She’ll check in when she can, I’m sure. I’ve had the wood fire cranking all day - simple pleasures of life. Hope you and the doggies have a safe and cosy night.
