Gee had a look at the Super Seth Yearlings catalogued at this sale , and I must admit there are some very nice athletic  types in amongst them .
They  seem to be consistent in type anyway .

I saw this photo of Super Seth y/day & my gaze was immediately drawn to his laminitic front feet if it's not a photographic glitch Confused Those with phones will be able to expand which might tell a clearer story - or not Confused

All the Waikato Super Seth's I've looked at are standing in grass.  Which is damned annoying.

See there's two Zed colts from mares very closely related to Verry Elleegant.

goldey, 'my' photo above shows a clear concavity/dish of the walls & isn't a yearling pic but the feet of Super Seth.

Thought so myself Wink just had a look at the brand , quite " dishy " , little extra toe may have made it more noticeable as well.

Hence my annoyance at the Waikato shots with feet hidden in grass.

Totally agree now after blowing up the photo more ,I see that , do you think this is a fault that is genetically passed on to his progeny at a high rate .

It's never a genetic propensity & very rarely mechanically caused tho' they are the excuses always made, even by professionals.
Overfeeding of carbs  high grain diets are the killer with animals in temperate environment at the highest risk. Look at the pastures these top mares & stallions are on just for starters
Disapprove
And the foot bones don't rotate, rather laminae is stretched, the wall moves further away from it, heel grows fast & voila, it appears as tho' the pedal bone has rotated.

She looks fine to me Kav.  Bit of size, well put together.  The main concern is that we don't get to see her movement from either front or rear so can't comment on her gait, angulation etc.

Over to others.

kav she was sold as a weanling, as part of the Valachi Downs dispersal sale for $9,500.
Nice match up, pedigree wise.

Firstly well done Cambridge Stud with their "Passport" system in their yearling promotion. All out in the open and for many knowledgeable horse people it would remove the need and cost of getting a vet to check xrays etc.

They have two vets giving their professional opinions (one Aussie and one Kiwi) While there is general agreement, it is interesting to note the differences.

Ok she's a 14th foal, but thought the Tarzino filly lot 124 went very cheap.  Any comment on her would be appreciated.

bother I don't usually agree with the ones that bring top dollars but did like the Too Darn Hot - Lady Sayyida.  Interesting pedigree mix also.

Appears a "cheap" buy given his page Carioca.  Damn annoying there's no vision of him at the walk from front or rear though.

Breeder,
Interesting that lot 678 I referenced earlier was passed in and now has a reserve of 5000. After being bought as a weanling for 9k that would suggest there is something seriously wrong.

I saw that kavg. But the sale yesterday was pretty poor at the time she went through the ring. The only thing I can think of is the Xrays or scope were very bad. If that was the case I'm surprised they even presented her, when obviously it is easy to check up on.

But at $5k I think she would be worth it for her breeding value.

Long and upright in the pasterns but that alone wouldn't be the reason for total lack of interest.  And again, frustratingly, no front and rear shots or videos to examine her gait, alignment etc.  And as Breeder suggests...
