2024 Spring G1 Winners, Roughies and SP comps

Hi all it's nearly that time again.  I haven't sounded out the other Dizzy or Alfra so if they can't run their comps someone with a better understanding of maths may need to step in!  Here are the dates for the G1 races.  Included is the Everest

How the hell is it nearly Spring already? Not that I'm complaining!

I agree with brudder here. Everest only non group 1.

I feel we should include the Golden Eagle if we include the Everest, they're the two richest races in the spring, the Eagle will help lessen the chance of someone (as I did a few years ago with Giga Kick ) getting a double figure winner in the richest race and winning the SP or Roughies comp based on that alone, plus in all likelyhood both races will be Group 1 events once enough time has passed, in all reality the Eagle may even gain it first given it is open nominations rather than a slot race.

How about just count points rather than prizemoney for the Everest/ Eagle?

It doesn't matter in my comp so no worries there.

I agree with Afros - both or neither. I'm in favour of neither. Its a G1 comp and maybe should stay that way. When they eventually give G1 status to either race then its in.

Actually I agree with VSP and Brudda_A above, I'm probably more leaning toward not including the Everest and Golden Eagle, I'd probably be more suportive of adding the three Perth G1 events given that they are to be run on the 3 weekends immediately following the final G1 meeting of the Spring Carnival at Caulfield on November 16th.

OK I'll add the WA races to the comp but I'll keep the Everest in the Winners Comp.  It is a G1 as it's the best sprint going around no matter what everyone blocking it says.  And believe me I hate the money involved it too much but that doesn't effect my comp.

Thanks Furious.  The Winners is your comp so you're entirely entitled to run the rules as you see fit.  So points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for the Everest.

Just get rid of the ridiculously high prize money races in the money comps and let those races be part of the winners comp.

otherwise the comp will be the same with the three G1's from WA.

But for the Winners 1,2,3 point comp alone I presume?
