Hi all it's nearly that time again. I haven't sounded out the other Dizzy or Alfra so if they can't run their comps someone with a better understanding of maths may need to step in! Here are the dates for the G1 races. Included is the Everest

I'm good to go. So I'd be willing to accept the Invitation, the Five Diamonds, the Golden Eagle and the Everest, I would also be open to including the Shorts and the Premiere Stakes, given both carry a purse of a million and generally attract good fields. ------------- The worlds oldest fossil was discovered in Australia, they named it Rupert Murdoch. |

Happy days! Thanks organisers! Personally I’d prefer Group 1’s only for our spring and autumn comps. There’s plenty enough to do my head in

I feel we should include the Golden Eagle if we include the Everest, they're the two richest races in the spring, the Eagle will help lessen the chance of someone (as I did a few years ago with Giga Kick ) getting a double figure winner in the richest race and winning the SP or Roughies comp based on that alone, plus in all likelyhood both races will be Group 1 events once enough time has passed, in all reality the Eagle may even gain it first given it is open nominations rather than a slot race. ------------- The worlds oldest fossil was discovered in Australia, they named it Rupert Murdoch. |

| Well whatever there is always a race worth more than the rest ie the Melbourne Cup which is harder than the everest to pick the winner! That's the whole idea. We all get to pick and if we're wrong we pay the penalty. If we are mostly on the favourite and one of us gets a long shot winner then they should benefit! |

While I understand your point, the purse of the Everest is so much greater than any other race in the competition, I think it should be either both the Everest and the Eagle, or neither in. Actually I agree with VSP and Brudda_A above, I'm probably more leaning toward not including the Everest and Golden Eagle, I'd probably be more suportive of adding the three Perth G1 events given that they are to be run on the 3 weekends immediately following the final G1 meeting of the Spring Carnival at Caulfield on November 16th. ------------- The worlds oldest fossil was discovered in Australia, they named it Rupert Murdoch. |

| OK I'll add the WA races to the comp but I'll keep the Everest in the Winners Comp. It is a G1 as it's the best sprint going around no matter what everyone blocking it says. And believe me I hate the money involved it too much but that doesn't effect my comp. |

Thanks Furious. The Winners is your comp so you're entirely entitled to run the rules as you see fit. So points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for the Everest. Afros and hopefully Dizzy will continue to manage the Roughies and SP comps, though it's clear Afros would prefer the Everest be excluded due to the inflated prize-money attached to the race and how it could skew results. Just imo.  |

I'm happy to go with the majority, if majority want it in then it gets a start, if majority don't want it I'll go that way, I'm sure dizzy will also go with that. FWIW that total prize money for the races furious has shared above is a tick under $82.5 million, meaning the Everest represents 1/4 of the total pool. Regardless it's going to be one for the staying types this round thats for sure! 16 Saturdays in a row plus Cup Tuesday and Oaks Thursday. ------------- The worlds oldest fossil was discovered in Australia, they named it Rupert Murdoch. |

Hi All, I’m keen to participate again. Any races suit me especially as it’s all for fun. Currently on a 10 week vanning holiday right around the bottom of SA, WA. We’ve been out of service a lot, even my phone so haven’t been doing much online. Currently in Port Lincoln and glad to be back in the land of the living! W is the winners comp, 3 points for first, 2 for second, 1 for third. R is the Roughies comp, which scores in $, the formula being prize money x starting price. SP is for starting price, similar format to the roughies comp, prize money x starting price, with a difference, the return is also divided by the finishing position but it also scores for any finishing position that garners a return. ------------- The worlds oldest fossil was discovered in Australia, they named it Rupert Murdoch. |
