Hello,
unfortunately I forgot in my last email an important info.

'Muskoka' was purchased for 1.3 Mill. Euros (ca. 2.0 Mill AUS$) by. Mr. Zhang.

regards, Ticino

Yulong seems to have bottomless pockets, and this can be a double edged sword. Whilst any investment of this kind is always welcome, it can lead to a market distortion in the longer term. I just hope none of the sales companies are paying a 1.5% secret commission to facilitators of any sales. That could lead to perceptions not welcome in any investment individuals.

I honestly believed that forum’s like this one is a place where we can ask the hard questions without fear nor favour. It seems that everyone here is happy to go with the flow, as long as nobody gets upset. I will say here and now that the corruption is endemic.  Trainers and agents getting commissions and kickbacks from seller, sales companies and trainers. Sitting here trying to word things to avoid lawsuits is a weak way of staying safe whilst trying to educate.
I watch in amazement as the press champion these crooks for making racing great. It’s not. Rich punters are robbed consistently. Yulong is not a target of mine, as I know Mr Zhang and shudder when I see what happens to his money. But, if you dance with the devil, then don’t cry when you get robbed. Good people tried to help him.

The same could be said for Nathan Tinkler.

European racing is lucky it treated the Oil giants much better.

Tinkler was just a sweetheart.  To quote Ray Martin.   Large pockets, ( for awhile ) and small brain.
What he did to people, especially the small ones like feed suppliers and farriers, etc,,,not forgetting staff, was criminal.
Towards the end of his Blissful Dream he wasnt even supplying feed for his horses.  Staff were.

animals before people.

Wonder how maintenance is arranged for so many out of work horses? A previous employee said Mr Zhang doesn’t like yards built in paddocks as it spoils the look. So people walk out into paddocks to catch each individual horse. Many horses don’t want to be caught.
After initially thinking it would be a state of the art set up, and after working on other big studs, came away thinking the place needed a lot of money spent on it.
Must be hard looking after that many hooves, worming programs and cases of rain rot?

So are you saying that things are not quite right at Yulong??? That would be very sad.

As for Tinkler, meant well, but was ill advised

I don’t think they will have any problems catching Alcohol Free in the paddock. Getting the $10 million purchase price back will be the trick. Embarrassed

I was very surprised to see Alcohol Free contesting the speed in the Everest. There was nothing slow about her.

The last 400m was the slowest in the race. But my previous comment was meant to be humorous.

Maybe Mr Zhang might be wise to listen to the following advice (I am confident that it was used in the Rogie/Lloyd relationship).

Drove past their front gate not long ago but haven’t been in there. So can’t say. My hubby happened to be talking to an ex employee and that’s just what the person told him. How far it goes I do not know.

I’m not surprised at anything that they do. They probably should pay more attention to the ones that preceded them, who had big wallets and not a great deal of local industry knowledge.
It eventually impacts more than their own business, and casualties always seem to be left behind.

Same family as the great Redoute's by Redoute's so he's bred to be a great stallion but he's surprised me with the start he's had.

despite that SC it's not the best stakes cross.  And plenty of places to go when a stallion is inbred you can nearly mate them with anything.

Multiple Group 1 winner Duais sold to Yulong

Yulong's haul of some of the best race and breeding mares in the country has continued with the purchase of multiple Group 1 winner Duais.

The Victorian-based breeding giant secured the Edward Cummings-trained mare this week for an undisclosed sum prior to her contesting the Group 1 Champions Stakes over 2000m at Flemington on Saturday.

Duais joins the likes of Montefilia, Forbidden Love, Snapdancer, Icebath and Isotope as recent high-profile Australian race mares heading to Yulong's Victorian operation.

"It's an exciting opportunity to train for Mr Zhang and the Yulong family, undoubtedly one of Australia's major breeding and racing operations," Cummings said.

"I thank Duais' original owners for entrusting her career with me and I look forward to the challenge of Saturday's Champions Stakes at Flemington with her."

Duais heads into the Champions Stakes off an unlucky fourth in the Group 1 Cox Plate.

The six-year-old daughter of Shamus Award is a three-time Group 1 winner of the Australian Cup, Tancred Stakes and Queensland Oaks while she has also placed at Group 1 level on three occasions.

"Her former owners Matthew Irwin and the Harris family purchased a $20,000 mare by Johannesburg (USA) out of a Scone sale, mated her with Shamus Award and bred a horse that became one of the best stayers in the country," Cummings said.

Punting Form Data from The Cox Plate:

– Romantic Warrior -17.8 All Average Benchmark figure ????
– Race was run -8.2 lengths quicker than the class average to the 600m mark ⏱️
– Gold Trip the fastest L400 and 200m of the race ????https://t.co/FGllFVKc0Rpic.twitter.com/wExp9ONdcH

— Punting Form (@PuntingForm) October 30, 2023

"It was a passion project of two families that love their racing and she took them on the ride of their life.

"In an age of big money imports, they've proven it's still within reach to breed a local stallion over an Australian-bred mare and get an amazing result."

Duais will be ridden by Damien Oliver on Saturday and he galloped the mare at Flemington on Tuesday morning.

"She worked really well, and Ollie gave her the thumbs up," Cummings said.

"I feel she's ready to run another great race on Saturday."

Duais is the $6 equal second favourite with Prowess for the Champions Stakes at TAB.com.au behind West Wind Blows, the $3 favourite in the pre-field market.

It takes a wise man a lifetime to grow a tree and a fool five minutes to kill one.

Read some article saying

Horses that are backmarkers do not make good breeders male or female.

So maybe yulong might bemoan at a latter date

Backmarkers as racehorses have some type of mechanical (biomechanics/cardiovascular) inefficiency and given efficiency or lack thereof is somewhat heritable it generally makes them less liable to be successful producers (both stallions and mares).
