You are very tiresome with your stupid garbage Shrunky. Not even the slightest bit original either from the apologists of the lunatic that escalated this.

''they’ve certainly trying.''

Shrunky, let me explain it to you. When a country intends an attack on a foreign adversary's infrastructure, they warn them that it is coming so people can get out of the way. Iran did it before the previous attacks(yes plural, this diodn't start last week) Trump administration did it before they sort of bombed the Syrian air base a couple of years ago. It is just a statement and a warning.

The revenge of this terrorist they killed will go on for years and in most cases nobody will know they have done it. This is a chest beating exercise for local consumption.

The unintended consequences haven't begun yet.

Do you remember the response for the shooting down of Iran airlines with hundreds of people onboard?

Hey Shrunky, do you think considering the business going on now that Trump and Rudy should stop laundering Iranian Republican Guard money/precious metals for them?

Anyway, if my little trolls are done, back to the missiles.

Pompeo says yesterday, backing up Trump that the US are ignoring requests by Iraq to take their stupid Iran war elsewhere and get out. Hours later missiles raining down on US base in Iraq.

On the weekend a Russian warship intimidates a US warship in the Arabian Sea.

Another stupid Middle East war that Trump says they are getting out of(core election promise) is only an error away. Trump's 4 Embassies under imminent threat is his ''weapons of mass destruction'' fraud.

And WTF will the eventual consequences be for his killing?

What I am saying, which you seem to have missed is that there has been no direct consequence SINCE his assassination, the thing that will trigger a quarter of a million militia to respond in their time, not your or mine.

Tit for tat has been happening for decades. Killing an extremely high profile political figure escalates the tit for tat. That response is what you will have to wait for, and it could take years.

Here is one of your ''unintended consequences'' of the killing of the terrorist. When the Straits of Homuz are barricaded and we cannot put petrol in our cars because Australia's 29 days supply has run out, who will you blame?

Russian warship buzzing US warship near the opening and attacks on 7 oil tankers in recent months is no coincisence.

Now our feckless leader is sending assets and troops to the Strait to try and bail out Trump from his mess.

Australian warship HMAS Toowoomba heads to Iran as part of Operation Manitou

By Defence correspondent Andrew Greene
Posted

Almost 200 Australian sailors are bracing for confrontation with Iranian vessels as their warship sets sail today for a maritime security mission in one of the world's most treacherous waterways.

Key points:

  • The deployment is part of the Australian Defence Force's contribution to maritime security and stability in the Middle East
  • HMAS Toowoomba will arrive in the Middle East within a fortnight, returning home in July
  • The warship could be diverted elsewhere in the Middle East if the security situation deteriorates

HMAS Toowoomba will be formally farewelled from the Stirling naval base south of Perth on Monday, ahead of a six-month deployment to the increasingly tense Strait of Hormuz.

There the ANZAC-class frigate will join an American-led coalition protecting oil supplies leaving the crucial trading passage, against a backdrop of escalating military tensions between the United States and Iran.

The ABC has been told the warship could be diverted elsewhere in the Middle East if the security situation deteriorates. more..

Do we have a choice, really?
Can someone correct me if I’m in error, but is the Australian defence force so daunting, that without the USA as our ally, and without their veil of protection, one of many much more powerful countries can’t simply swamp us and take over?
And that’s why that ship is on its way?

Under a normal US Administration yes, under the current ''transactional'' one nobody knows where they really stand, including countries far more powerful than us. The uncertainty leads us to have to consider alliances we normally wouldn't have contemplated before.

With America being forced out of the ME and great uncertainty about the stability of the region it might be an opportunity to look seriously at alternatives to our reliance on their oil.

Well I'll tell you what he was doing, blindsiding our allied soldiers in the dead of night while they were fighting ISIS, tit for tat my rump, 14 years too late imo.

The Wahhabis dont want to be left out of the action.

US soldier, contractors killed in al-Shabab attack on Kenya base

Two more members of the US Department of Defence wounded in the raid on base used by US and Kenyan troops.

A US military service member and two US contractors have been killed in an al-Shabab attack on a military base in Kenya used by US and Kenyan military personnel, the US military said.

Two other Department of Defense personnel were wounded in Sunday's attack on the Manda Bay Airfield in Lamu county.

"The wounded Americans are currently in stable condition and being evacuated," Africa Command (AFRICOM) said in a statement.

Iran students refuse to walk over US and Israeli flags

Many students at a university in Tehran have openly avoided walking over US and Israeli flags in an apparent show of defiance again the Iranian government.

Video shows the students walking around, rather than across, the flags at Shahid Beheshti University campus. The flags were painted on the ground so that those walking along the route would thereby insult both countries - which Iran considers staunch enemies.

Thousands of protesters chanting anti-government slogans have taken to the streets after Iran's military admitted it had mistakenly downed a passenger plane.

Russians p*ssed off Iran for admitting to downing UIA PS752.

There is also a lot of anger in Russia, but for an entirely different reason. Yuri Shvytkin, deputy head of the State Duma’s Defense Committee, criticized the position of the Iranian authorities, who admitted their responsibility for shooting down the Ukrainian airliner.

Shvytkin told Russian radio station Moscow Speaks that the Iranians should have blamed the United States for the incident. He said, “It was a missile strike provoked by the United States, that is, Iran’s retaliatory actions were unintentional. It’s necessary to condemn both the actions of the United States and the actions of Iran regarding the downed plane. Within the framework of the events that took place, in the turmoil due to insufficient professional actions and hasty decisions regarding the guidance and launch of a missile, it is theoretically possible to allow this.”

Russian senator Alexei Pushkov echoed the same position, stating: “The United States carry their part of the responsibility for this tragedy,” arguing that America creates conditions leading to wars all over the world.

Pushkov also took a jab at Ukraine, claiming that whenever Ukraine calls Iran’s actions irresponsible, it should be reminded about not closing its airspace for the flight of the Malaysian Boeing MH17. The Russian senator disingenuously complained that Ukraine “is still not admitting its fault” for not closing the Ukrainian airspace, “which is the reason for the crash of the Malaysian Boeing.”

In reality, Russia—not Ukraine—was proven to be responsible for shooting down the passenger jet over Donbas, killing all 298 on board.

In the run-up to Iran’s admission, Russian propagandists were looking to absolve the Iranians of any responsibility. Various theories aired by Kremlin-controlled Russian state television ranged from technological issues to the possibility of a terrorist act. Russia’s Federal News Agency (RIA FAN) pushed the boundaries even further, promoting an outlandish conspiracy theory that an American drone shot down the passenger airliner.

Iran de-escalated the situation quickly by admitting it was shot down by Iranians and a militia leader accepting responsibility. The regime separating them from Hezbollah et al, as was suggested in the Iranian Foreign Minister's initial statement on not knowing where when or by whom revenge would be carried out, and the regime's statement that the innocuous attack on empty US/Iraqi bases was the end of it. Leaves future responsibility with militia groups and their estimated 2 million members region wide, rather than the Regime.

I think the statement in the Duma is also consistent with the Russian disinformation ''active measures' that Trump also uses to great effect. When the plane was shot down over Ukraine Russian state media were posting similar but conflicting accounts so that people were arguing over the details, rather than the substance. Sound familiar?

I suspect there is no space between Iran and Russia on this.
