Take2 would have to be devastated let alone disappointed.

Was never a chance from early on, when Egan quite inexplicably attempted to restrain the horse for 300m when it began to over-race - rather than give it some rein.  Fighting a horse for too long is almost always a recipe for disaster.  That said the galloper was entitled to do rather more in the straight.

Will be interesting to see what T2 has to say when the dust fully settles.

Hi all, My big boy Intense just didn't handle the tight turning Warracknabeal track last week.
He is backing up at Hamilton today in a 1600m Highweight maiden, being such a big horse (17 hands+) we have no concerns with him handling the big weight. Hamilton track is more suitable although I'm not sure how he will cope with the uphill/downhill. Minor concern stepping back in trip, but he is ready to run a bold race.
Cheers

Hi guys,

Been a little while since I've posted on here, but thought I'd give you all a quick update.
After a slashing first up run on the flat at Bendigo a couple of weeks ago, the old grey Saunter Boy is back for another jumps campaign. He is gearing up for a crack at Warrnambool with a run at Pakenham in R2 today. He has trialled super and Steve, Ciaron & Dave are all super happy with him.

Looking forward to watching him

Cheers
DD.

Big few days coming up, kicking off with Loveisabattlefield looking to break her maiden in Race 3 at Gatton this afternoon. Tomorrow sees Swagger as a winning hope at Wangaratta before Diamond Hands makes his debut at Bathurst on Anzac Day. He has done a great job in his first preparation and will be better as a three year old, but has shown enough to be competitive.

off to a good start, a nice second, good luck with the others too..
Anzac day looks like fun, we are heading to Murwillumbah to give our Rahaan another run over 1550, leading her into longer races which she will be more suited. We will be with our fathers in spirit, as my dad especially loved horse racing, a mad punter and he was a soldier and served in Borneo and New Guinea in WW2. ( I wished I was racing horses whilst he was still around)
I believe two up is played at these meets!

We have a small share in a 2yo colt named Bring The Stars which ran 2nd on debut at Pakenham last Thursday after turning last for home.

Might have another run at Bendigo in early May before being freshened before a Spring campaign.  Well that's my ideal scenario anyway.

Whatever the immediate future holds believe he has way above average talent and is hopefully one to follow.

Very pleased to report that Diamond Hands commenced his career with a win in the Gold Nugget at Bathurst yesterday, making connections very happy. He was going to run a nice third or fourth but really flew the last 50 to get up on the line. Given I bred him and race him with family and friends, it was hugely satisfying. Especially at $23.

Bjorn Baker has a couple of South Africans riding for him at the moment. Brandon Larenna ran second in the same race, giving a $200 Baker exacta.

Because of visa requirements, both Brandon and Heavy are only able to ride for Bjorn.   He rode him well for a guy who has only had a handful of rides here - no complaints from my perspective.

Congratulations Robbo. great journey..Thumbs Up

Our mare is in the last at Grafton today over a mile, I'll Miss You is a stayer and we are stepping up to a more suitable distance next time, however in saying that she is well over the odds today IMO.
60 kg will be tough on her, but prefer one of her usual jockey all the same..
