Maher & Eustace sending one over to Naracoorte for the Jericho Cup qualifier, just needs to turn up and will brain them.

Jericho Cup qualifier winner actually been in work for seven months, albeit with spaced runs since resuming.  Great to see the Post/Walters combo get up with this 9yo mare.

What happened to trainer Wayne Walters?

I think Kane Post is his son in law.  But earlier this year all the Paul Smithies/Monovale Holdings horses were switched to the Posts.

I know Wayne would have to be getting in in years but never read anything about him retiring.

Suspect Wayne has retired Foxseal, hopefully in good health.

I hope that’s the case after many decades of training he deserves it.  He used to love a good betting plunge back in the day.  I’m thinking a sprinter called Torbek early 80’s.  Another one in the late 80’s on a hurdler of his called Toopuntal at Caulfield.

Torbek I well remember.  Invitation Stakes/Toorak Hcp double and good enough to win at Group level four or five years later.

Great to see the Post's with the quinella. Wayne went up North to
enjoy some warmer weather, may come back to training at some stage. Kate moved back to Mount Gambier with her husband Kane Post. Kane and his Dad, Bobby are now training the team.
The Maher horse was ordinary, suspect the track was too firm for him and he didn't look that comfortable on pulling up, will have to wait for the stewards report tomorrow.

No issues with Heberite, Walters cautioned for whip abuse

RACE 6: 'THE ROAD TO THE JERICHO' BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP - 3160 Metres

HEBERITE (NZ) (B. Vorster) – rider reported the gelding never travelled throughout the race, failed to respond when placed under pressure and as a result he elected not to ride the mount out over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

BEACHGOER (D. Tourneur) – laid in, in the straight.

BEAR ARMS (S. Logan) – hung in for the majority of the race.

FAST FOILS (NZ) (L. Halliday) – raced three wide in the early and middle stages until working forward to obtain the lead, near the 1600 metres. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100 meters and was reprimanded. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip and noted that she used it on five occasions over the concluding 100 meters of the event.

ZABEXTRA (NZ) (K. Walters) - rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100 meters and was reprimanded. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip and noted that she used it on three occasions over the concluding 100 meters of the event.

GROSVENOR BRIDGE (NZ) (K. Sardelic) – stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground however, regained the tail of the field shortly after. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer, Mr J. O’Connor, was advised that a Veterinary Certificate of Fitness was required prior to a future trial or race start.

GIRIDO (S. Metcalf) - rider reported the gelding sweated up badly resulting in her having difficulty obtaining a firm grip of the reins at various stages during the race.

Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing

Anyone else surprised to see former top line sprinter Dothraki running in a BM64 today at Geelong?

Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that name in the field for R7, before looking at the form to see it’s a different Dothraki.

Given the previous Dothraki only retired less than 2 years ago, surprised to see this name going around again so soon.  If a kiwi with the same name came over here in the past they’d usually change the name to Our Dothraki or Mr Dothraki.

Unless eyesight fails me suspect St Joeys went around in the 6th at Geelong in the colors carried so gloriously by Bel Esprit nearly 20 years ago.

Haven't consciously noticed them since the last highlights reel on Racing.com, but am almost sure others might might not need to visit specsavers.

Possibly not TJ, was it white with stars then?

But still reckon he (later?) raced in the red, white and green carried today.
