According to the dictionary "shocked "is defined as "surprised or upset because something unexpected and usually unpleasant has happened".
On Radio National (RN) the other morning Wayne Swan said he was "shocked" that branch stacking had taken place within the Victorian ALP to obtain pre-selection for ALP candidates at elections. To think Swan, who is presently National President of the Labor Party and a member of the federal parliament from 1993 until 2019 was "shocked" certainly came as a surprise to many, even to those with a limited knowledge of the factions within the ALP. Well on Radio National (RN) this morning Emma Hussar, the former ALP member for the seat of Lindsay, certainly did not miss out on calling Swan's "shock " as rubbish. For the record, Hussar did not recontest her seat at the last election because she was disendorsed prior the election, even Bonking Bill chimed in saying it was not in the best interests of the ALP if she recontested the seat. At the time accusations were made that Hussar had bullied her staff and behaved offensively and unreasonably to her staff, but an internal ALP investigation found they were no sufficient reasons her to not recontest for the seat of Lindsay. This morning on RN Hussar said that prior to her dis-endorsement prior to the 2019 election the only way she had any hope of getting re endorsed was to shore up for branch support by stacking up her numbers. She then asked how should she do that and was told go out and get members who will support you. Does Swan want the public to believe he was "shocked " over ALP branch stacking when prior to entering parliament in 1993 between 1978 to 1980 he was a policy adviser to Labor Leader Bill Hayden and from 1983 to 1984 was an adviser to Government Ministers Mick Young and Kim Beazley He later worked as the State Secretary of the Queensland Labor Party from 1991 to 1993. With a background like that, Swan would have been well aware of branch stacking way back to 1978 and wants the public he was "shocked", pull my other leg Wayne. |

My definition of a "shock", and far more convincing than any dictionary, would be having BB say something complementary about the ALP.

There's no way in the world this party political dross from Bob deserves its own thread.

Seriously, one-eyed thralls of any one, or any thing, are risible. We know their sh1t stinks, regardless of who they are, so why pretend otherwise.

Well there's an existing thread where the issue of branch stacking has and is being discussed in some length. A thread where you yourself have made at least six posts on the subject. |

PT, just went back to a few threads you started, most were about Trump, do you suppose next time you have a dig at him you could merge it with a previous dedicated anti Trump thread you initiated ?

I stand corrected but I can only recall one thread I have started on the subject of Trump and that is the very active highly popular Democratic Primaries thread.
Whale started the main Trump thread

Reminds of a scene from Casablanca when the police chief walks into Bogarts casino and said he "was shocked" that gambling was going on as he stuffed his winnings in his kick

Carioca , I posted that at 9.03 pm on 17th June, under thread of ALP, Marxism and Anarchy, although it was more about Albo and Chairman Dan but I guess Swan was tarred with the same brush
Here was my post: Who does this remind you of ? Albo or Chairman Dan or both ? |

Thanks Bob.
As that Impeachment process is done and dusted and his impeachment is forever, no need to return to it unless he is re-impeached.. Wayne Swan wouldn't be relevant to it anyway.

It might be easier to get BB to list the meritorious deeds of Labor politicians, rather than the multitudinous sins, this would accord with the Mayor's desire to keep wordage within the bounds of bandwidth restrictions.

Keep up the good work Bob. You would literally have thousands of silent supporters - or pretty close to it at least

BB's political "commentary" reminds me of the old Protestant Vs Catholic days, many earnestly believed their "side" was the repository of all things virtuous, whilst the supposed "opposition", was the very work of the Devil. Whatever happened to those "simple" times.

"She then asked how should she do that and was told go out and get members who will support you."
Is there something wrong with that?

Your Folau thread a discreet one that deserves its own entity. Unlike Bob who has a penchant for starting threads on matters that have already been the subject of discussion elsewhere. There's been innumerable posts on branch stacking so why Bob would start a new thread on the subject is beyond comprehension.

It was implied " by whatever means" Hussar could get members was OK.
