Bet you a lobster Matt's (ex?) associates won't be much pleased:
Federal police have seized what they say is an extraordinary amount of pure fentanyl in Melbourne, enough for more than 5 million lethal doses of the fast-acting, highly addictive opioid. AFP acting Commander Anthony Hall said on Monday that investigators had uncovered an illicit shipment containing 11.2 kilograms of pure fentanyl, which they estimate to be more than five million lethal doses, on its way into Melbourne from Canada. |

SC, even by your standards that is drawing a long bow. Guy's luncheon years ago with some undesirable having anything to do with AFP uncovering an illicit shipment of pure fentanyl in 2022.

Guy?
He’s the one that was going to campaign on corruption, but won’t release his emails that confirm his untoward details? If the Teals were to form an alliance, they would be the new opposition after the election…

O.L. Spuddy Mr. 17% has been very quiet lately. Will he be reprising his African gang scare campaign for the upcoming state election or has he been told thanks but no thanks. Maybe he can rustle up a Chinese warship or get some Sri Lankan boats to land in Victoria. Whatever it is there will be zero value added by his intervention.

Well at long last the Liberals are starting to rattle the cage of the Andrews' government. Over the past week the Liberals have announced multiple commitments to hit Andrews where he is most vulnerable....HEALTH.
As anyone living in Victoria knows the ALP government's mismanagement of the health system since 2014 has pushed it to breaking point. In Victoria alone, 90,000 are on hospital waiting lists, if you call 000 you are put on hold and if an ambulance arrives and gets you to hospital you are ramped at the hospital until you are admitted, recently a patient was ramped for 16 hours outside an emergency ward at a hospital. Let alone the 800 people who died due to the government's mismanagement of COVID when it hit Victoria. The Liberals are committed to building health infrastructure in the very parts of Victoria that have been ALP heartland and have been taken for granted by the Andrews government . A. $900 million to build a new Children's Hospital in Werribee B. $750 million to build a new infectious disease response centre C. $450 million to build a new hospital in West Gippsland D. $400 million to redevelop the Rosebud Hospital E. $340 million to build a new hospital in Albury-Wodonga F. $300 million to provide free public transport for Victorian health workers, G. $100 million to slash surgery waiting lists Well you might ask where are the Liberals going to get the billions of dollars required to fund all those commitments ? Simple, they are going to shelve the unwarranted and unwanted Suburban Rail Loop, supposedly connecting southern and eastern suburbs by rail, which if it went ahead would take 20 years to build. |

They can just borrow some of Federal ALP - they seem to have a golden goose hidden somewhere.

It literally does not matter what the vic libs are saying. They aren't going to win and in fact may lose more seats. They need a serious leader.

TJM, I do not think dear Dan is sleeping as peacefully as he did last month before the Libs came out with that scrapping of the Rail Loop then the commitment to repairing the health infrastructure .

I know the election is not a horse race but back in 1948 in the UK a horse ridden by Sir Gordon Richards. got beaten at 1/25 and Dan is not that short of odds.

Just in case you might have misread PT's post, it's Jeff "ON Sky News blasting the media", not Jeff blasting "the media who he said have become “sycophants” of the Victorian Government and Sky News.
ps two of my closest mates attended Uni in the same year as Jeff. Both vote Conservative. Both say he was relatively hardworking but not particularly bright. Which possibly explains why he flunked first year and pulled the pin to enter the advertising industry. A sure way to get into politics, for better or worse as recent Federal events clearly demonstrate. |

This is hugely bad news for the battered and belittled State Opposition:
Former Liberal hopeful Felicity Frederico to run as independent in marginal Victorian seatExclusive: Former mayor and OAM recipient to contest Brighton (Liberal by a 1.1% margin) in election. Frederico,
a former Bayside mayor, quit the Liberals in May after 17 years, having grown
frustrated by her inability to drive change from within the party. |

I don't think it matters who or how many jump ship! They're a basket case & will be for many years without massive change in regard to their ability to listen to what 50%+ of the demographic needs & genuine intent to apply it
Young, new budding pollies are badly needed but who in their right mind would bother even joining, let alone thinking they could make a difference? |
