Verry Elleegant has or is having the perfect racing campaign to turn the tables on Addeybb in the Queen Elizabeth.

4 weeks between runs who knows what she will do tomorrow but with tomorrows run under the belt and the 3 weeks into the Queen Elizabeth is perfect.

I thought she would have the wood on him tomorrow too as it is , she's very fit now and this run can peak her , Colette to run second.

What a tough win. That was a great dogfight from a long way out. These are the races to remember for the ages.

Very tough win by VE. Addeyybb was game in defeat..always tough to travel and run well.

All in all - a great race and will be remembered for some time I think.

Gee that was exciting, even though the top 2 didn't gap them like we all expected, Angel of Truth was brave to hold on for third.  The Cox Plate winner disappointing again, he may have peaked in his first run for Maher, or as djebel will say, the O'Brien polish as worn off.

Something djebel will also agree with me on, lets hope that Verry Elleegant misses the Tancred next week and Randwick gets a repeat of todays race.

Probably a 100/1 chance of BE running in the Tancred.

That was some tough race the Ranvet.

World class effort from Verry. She is a world class horse. Addeyyb is , if not the best, in top 3 world class horse on soft or worse ground.

Great race and the crowd really were behind VE.  But the top three all ran outstanding races.  Collette disappointed me a tad.  I hoped she would of placed but nice to see the derby winner do something.  Hope he can continue to improve now.

Just on Collette furious, I personally think she is still light, and so for me the mile is her best distance right now.

I absolutely hope they do not run her in the Sydney Cup. She has now had two 2000m runs and been about four lengths below her best.

If she shows up in the Doncaster on a wet track she goes close!

I agree Voyager. Collette is one of my favourite horses and I think she’s a miler . She’d be a huge chance in a Doncaster.

The mare is a stronger horse this time around. Also she sat outside him last year whereas this year she came from behind him. No horse will hold her out with that kind of run she's just too damn good.

No doubt she should've won, wasted too much energy pulling herself into the ground for the first 800m

Yes, Wallers' worst fears eventuated as per his RSN i/view at 11.00 today & how she got that close is anyone's guess Confused Simply a very gutsy mare Clap

What did Waller do with her in the 3 weeks between runs ?

He is and this race confirms just how poor our trainers are.

Our horses are outstanding. They are let down by very poor trainers.

All is revealed.  It wasn't the mare's fault.  It wasn't the jockey's fault.  It wasn't the Good 4 where she'd won just 2 from 12.

No, it was all down to the trainers incompetence.

djebel, you abuse trainers for running them fortnightly so what should he have done? Supplied a fast pacemaker?

Gay - i wouldn't even bother responding to Djebel's rubbish. Whenever one of his beloved horses dont win he comes out with all the excuses in the world. This time he has taken aim at Chris Waller.

In his warped mind he thinks our horses are "outstanding"...well up to 1400m they are. At a mile onwards it falls away very badly depthwise in Australia but we all know Djebel thinks differently and he expects us to believe him.

We all know Waller is a good trainer....oh...except for a particular someone

Calm down Jamal, you're being to emotional, you need to approach this thinking rationally and take the emotion out of it.

P.S. I suspect djebels point re Waller is that he didn't have her peaking for the Grand Final, similar to footy sides who can beat the good sides in the regular season but not the finals.

Well djebel would certainly know if Waller didn't have the mare peaking for her grand final.  Big smile

Plaudits to that mare, born off a $500 service fee, no pedigree to speak of, unless you dig with a big shovel and yet she stretches one of the best horses on the planet.......if Haggis took her home on the plane she could be another Treve perhaps.......we shall never know.

I have 100% respect for European and Japanese horses.

My mistake was giving too much trust in Waller getting the job done with this great mare.
