It was snowing on the horses at Ballarat

Chilly early morning starts are part and parcel of the life of trainers and jockeys, but a few of them saw something new at Ballarat on Tuesday morning.

With the temperature gauge refusing to raise above a blisteringly cold 0 degrees, it started to snow on the track.

It wasn't quite time to get the skis and snowboards out, but nevertheless the white stuff was falling from the sky.

It's certainly not something you see every day and we will let these tweets, including from trainer Henry Dwyer, tell the story.
