Did they ever find his scumbag nephew? Wasn’t he hiding out somewhere in Europe hoping it would all blow over?

Clive Mensyk or something like thatH He was found in Bulgaria or somewhere but no extradition apparently. He has been ordered to stand trial in his absence.

Costing Clive plenty to pay him in exile for that length of time and probably life,  to avoid testifying.

Bonjour I know you dislike people who do the wrong thing.  In the racing industry you have posted your dislike.  I have family up past Townsville.  They didn't work for him but lets say Clive is not liked.  And no I don't know the whole story.  Only some of the pain that was caused by him.

Fair enough Furious, but for everyone that doesn't like Clive there is someone who does......especially those that are going to eat tonight because of Clive.

Forgetting for a moment the 1,000's of nickel miners, sub-contractors and their families who didn't eat for eight years after he left them financially stranded.

Chris Kenny running the truth past viewers now, much of what Chris is saying is the same as Clive, under LAB we are headed to oblivion.

Even the poor sods on fixed incomes will turn, no doubt.

Philanthropists that hang their workers out to dry for eight years, and settle 2 weeks into a trial that’s not going well for them?

Bonjour keeps banging on about how generous multi-billionaire Clive is. The only donations on the record are $5 million to Foodbank plus he donated a house and car to someone at Beenleigh. I don't think Clive is the type to do anonymous donations so I'm going to say that's the lot.Wink

He promised $100 million years ago but the cheque is lost in the mail.Evil Smile

The only big donations he makes are to his stupid political parties.

Do you know the facts about that story, Clive doesn't need to big note himself, he lives in a big house not far from me, he drives past me in the flashiest car you've ever seen and dines at the best restaurants here on the coast, he also employs thousands and pays billions in TAX, he donates millions of dollars, several millions, he's a great Aussie, you can say what you like, it's quite sad though, sadly.

We get it Bonji, Clive has plenty and is far right politically, but he isn't going to give you any of it just because your trying to earn the nickname bootlaces here.

Actually I'm surprised bonji hasn't suggested we should all admire Clive's miraculous health recovery (perhaps even suggesting we compare Clive to Jesus Christ), remember when he was on his deathbed when court was threatening but managed to make a stunning recovery, once court was done with?

I wonder if Clive will team up with another of Bonjis heros, former Liberal Gerard Rennick (another Qld nutter for those not yet blessed with coming across the man).  Rennick has followed the Fraser Anning path of making his own party after the Liberals decided he was only worth the 4th spot on their Qld senate ticket for the next election, no doubt hoping that he would just fade quietly away and nobody would remember he'd once represented them.

Did Donald Trump hold a gun to your head to invest? You also have made the wrong investments, poor choice of stocks and shares, you didn't read the trends, the bull and the bear, playing the ASX is about buying and selling, buy on the down sell on the up, been like that since NYSE first traded.

It's like you've backed the 2nd horse and are blaming the jock and trainer, get a grip. are you better off now than you were 3 years ago, yes or no.....it's not that hard....to answer I mean.

Bonjour, if you follow your own advice, IMO you are not an investor, you are a trader. Maybe a day trader. A rung up from a gambler.

Warren Buffett put his reputation on the line when he bet Ted Seides $1M that he could beat the hedge fund boss’s “trading” approach to “investing” in 2008 with a timeline of 10 years.

From memory the winnings went to charity.

Buffett’s approach was to put all of his initial capital in an index fund, one that just follows the market. Set and forget with low fees.

His opponent’s approach was to follow your advice…buy on the down, sell on the up. Pick the stocks, buy and sell.

As the link below confirms, it was a test of active vs passive investing.

The wash up? At the end of 10 years Buffett won $854K to $220.

Markets fluctuate and if the bet had been over 20 or 30 years, Buffett may have lost.

But for an average Aussie trying to buy and sell (trade) the market? Good luck.

If you are young and want to invest, put it in an ETF.
