The rest of the field was handing it to Zaaki on a plate.  Jamie had his trotting and while james tried to go early before Zaaki took off it was just too hard to do.

God knows what McDonald was thinking/doing. Maybe he thought she would quicken a lot better but they sprinted as he went. Either way made no difference whatsoever after those early sectionals and the way the track is playing she had zero chance from the 800m.

It could be it was so heavy they didn't want to push things but yes she had no chance but she's not the only one who has had that happen today.

Apart from the first two I think you can forget the rest went around. The big guns at least who weren't ever going to have a chance on that track and with that pace.

Did not have a bet on the race. Just watched it from a purist perspective and I'm pretty sure I was encouraging 5 different names at some stage and then when I saw Think it Over on the drier ground was egging him on but weirdly hoping Zaaki, who was courageous enough, would hang on.

One of the best races I've watched for a while....probably since Addeyyb's win last year Thumbs Up

It was the kind of field that based on different grades of tracks, you could easily have had 5 different winners and still go home happy that you watched a great race.

That's right , there were even mudders who couldn't pick there feet up in this bottomless going yesterday , the renowned muddier Colette beaten 40 lengths amongst others , but certain punters heap the blame on the jocks , I say judge them again when things change for the better.

I am extremely suspect of all of that form from yesterday.

I am not trying to disrespect any of the winners in fact I have followed Think It Over and Nimalee all prep, but jumped off when they won at good odds Angry and I am not saying that any of the place getters will not win races, but about 70% of those horses at least had no hope, especially with the bias towards front runners, or horses up near the speed at least.

Vary wary of the form for those who are continuing to race.

Surprising the number of runners that pulled up with slow recovery obs. including some very fit fancied ones , however in my opinion there is one that I would forget she went around and that is Verry Elleegant , my take on her was she never gave an inch in the straight and she has become a little dour , forget at your peril. Wink

I thought her last 200 was verry good. She seemed to be hitting the line real well. 2400m on the first Sunday in October will be perfect for her.

Not often I agree with you , but that's how I see it too , she never gave ground , maintaining a strong run to the line , but really if she couldn't beat Addeyb on her own dunhill what hope over there .

2400m is perfect for her. She would be a hope. No certainty of course but she even less chance if she does not go.

Addeybb did win a Champion Stakes over there between his Queen Elizabeth runs, He is not a poor benchmark.

Yep - Northerly was another one, really good horse. I have Northerly just below those two (in my opinion).

No im saying Winx and So You Think are the two best middle distances horses in the past 20 odd years. Id like to see Winx being sent to So You Think. Wrong thread I know but just saying.

Cheers.

Jamal, what about either Verry Elleegant or Winx pedigree makes you think a mating with So You Think would be good?
