Okay onto the five group 1 races.

Te Aroha

NZ Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes

1. Avantage - 100. Looks well placed and is hard to beat.
2. Levante - 88. In good form but has been found wanting against the top one. Place hope.
3. Coventina Bay - 80. Has been racing well in group 3 company. First go at group 1 level, and she can run top four.
4. Travelling Light - 80. I know she has the talent to win. The ratings say no, but could back her at the $26.00.
5. Siracusa - 78. Mixes her form and no value. Not here.
6. Familia - 77. Not sure 1600m is her best distance.
7. Tabata - 69. No.
8. Bad N Bouj - 69. Not here.
9. Cherry Lane - 69. Needs it easier.

Ratings

1. No.1 Avantage - 100
2. No.2 Levante - 88
3. No.4 Travelling Light - 80
4. No.3 Coventina Bay - 80
5. No.5 Siracusa - 78
6. No.6 Familia - 77

Add ins for any scratchings are No.7 & No.8
Recommended Bet: $50 win No.1 Avantage
Precedent: No.4 Travelling Light

Summary: On the ratings it seems that Avantage is hard to beat. Levante and Travelling Light are the dangers and if they can get a gap on Avantage at the top of the straight they can win.

Punters Club Investments

$300 win @ $2.00 No.1 Avantage
$100 each way @$26.00 + $7.00 No.4 Travelling Light

Randwick

ATC Sires Produce Stakes

1. Anamoe - 90. Only reason he is not on 100 is the 1400m, but that should not be any concern. His form is outstanding and he has finally found a beautiful barrier. Clearly the one to beat.
2. Captivant - 82. Comes into this off a similar prep to his stablemate last year, who won this race. I thought he ran okay in the Slipper and no surprise to see him run well here.
3. Lightsaber - 75. Comes through a lower level of quality. The VRC Sires has not been a great guide to this race and so he can run without my money.
4. Tiger Of Malay - 78. Going okay, but he steps up in quality here. I would need double figures to back him, but can run top four.
5. Daily Bugle - 73. Needs to improve and I am not sure he is up to this quality.
6. Hilal - 78. Has been racing well, and 1400m will suit, but can he make up the ground to win. Needs things to go his way, but will run well.
7. Lease - 70. Going okay, but this is one of Anthony's throw at the stumps.
8. Four Moves Ahead - 87. Now she has had the two strong runs she should be near her fitness peak and the 1400m looks ideal. The danger to the top rater.
9. Queen Of Wizardry - 80. I am forgiving her Slipper run as she was fresh into off the Magic Millions just like King's Legacy last year. The stable have always said that 1400 and 1600m will be her best distance range and I am trusting that. I am probably leading with my head a little but she has good form and she is better than a $51.00 hope.
10. Chill - 72. Just out of maiden grade and will like the 1400m but needs to improve significantly.

Ratings.

1. No.1 Anamoe - 90
2. No.8 Four Moves Ahead - 87
3. No.2 Captivant - 82
4. No.9 Queen Of Wizardry - 80
5. No.4 Tiger Of Malay - 78
6. No.6 Hilal - 78
Add ins for any scratchings are No.3 & No.5
Recommended Bet: $30 win No.1 Anamore
$10 each way No.9 Queen Of Wizardry
Precedent: No.8 Four Moves Ahead

Summary: Looks a race in three, Anamoe, Four Moves Ahead and Captivant, but for me Anamoe is as close to a good thing as you can get. His form is outstanding and he has finally drawn a nice gate in a group 1, and should do no work early in the race. Four Moves Ahead was good last time out but again are the fillies as good as the colts. Captivant comes in off a similar prep to his stablemate last year and he is an improver. I am absolutely convinced Queen Of Wizardry is a top filly, and I think she is the improver in the race. Tiger Of Malay and Hilal will appreciate the 1400m, and are top four hopes.

Punters Club Investments.

$350 win @$2.20 No.1 Anamoe.
$50 win + $100 Place No.9 Queen Of Wizardry

Just before we get to the derby, the club have backed Queen Of Wizardry @ $67.00 + $15.00

Australian Derby

1. Lion's Roar - 88. Of his last run I have a serious concern about him at the 2400m. As I have stated all through the season the middle distance and staying 3yo group this season are not outstanding and so he will need to be right at his best to win. He does love Randwick and he rates as one of the main hopes.
2. Rocket Spade - 84. He does tick the 2400m box, however that form has not stood up over the last three weeks. He only just got the win at Ellerslie so he does need to have improved. Can win, but he will not be carrying any of my money.
3. Sky Lab - 90. Here is the one horse who looks a dead set 2400m horse. Good run last start when he just missed. From the gate I am expecting him to roll forward and sit either in the lead or right behind the speed and he will look the winner at some stage in the straight. Looks the one to beat to my eye.
4. Milford - 77. Had his chance last start and not sure he is up to this quality.
5. The Frontman - 78. Not sure he is as good as this stables previous winners, but I think back to the 2400m he can run top four.
6. Yaletown - 81. Good win last start and comes through the high rating Phar Lap stakes. I can not see him winning, but he can run top four.
7. Young Werther - 81. I am not sure he can win, but I think the 2400m will suit and he can run well but not win.
8. Khoekhoe - 81. I backed him last start and I thought he ran really well, but he just ran out of fitness in the last 300m. He was five weeks into that, and I know others have a doubt about him at 2400m, but from the barrier he will go forward, and if he can get a couple of cheap sectionals mid race I can see him being a big improver from the Guineas. With no Mo'unga, Wheelhouse and only 3.5 lengths off Montefilia, I think he can at least run a place.
9. Prompt Prodigy - 82. To me he is the improver out of the Tulloch. Yes he had the track bias on his side last week, but he looks like the 2400m is his distance. I think there are a few who are better hopes, but I do not think he is a $51.00 chance.
10. Explosive Jack - 72. Beaten by a genuine improver last start, but needs to improve to even finish top five here.
11. Toscanini - 78. Not sure what to make of this guy. He comes through races against older horses and his run two back behind Welsh Legend was good with the 57 kilos. Not sure he has the class to win, but he goes in all my exotics.
12. Favreau - 80. Looked a little one paced last week, which might indicate that he is looking for the 2400m. Another top four hope.
13. Rondino - 74. Not here.
14. Zakspeed - 78. If he had more form against the better horses, and he had run that race last week, he would be a leading hope. I thought he was sensational in the last 200m last wek having the fastest last 200m of the race. He is no where near bred to get 2400m, but if he can run the distance, I have seen horses with poorer form finish top five. The $151.00 is way overs.
15. Olympic Gaze - 65. No.
16. Montefilia - 90. She needs to improve on her VRC Oaks run, but her two runs back this prep have been perfect for this race. Again I might be more confident if she had had another 2000m run, but she showed last start she is right up with the males.

Ratings

1. No.3 Sky Lab - 90
2. No.16 Montefilia - 90
3. No.1 Lion's Roar - 88
4. No.2 Rocket Spade - 84
5. No.9 Prompt Prodigy - 82
6. No.8 Khoekhoe - 81
Add ins for any scratchings are No.6 & No.7
Recommended Bet: $30 win No.3 Sky Lab
                              $10 win No.8 Khoekhoe
$5 each way No.9 Prompt Prodigy
Precedent: No.6 Yaletown

Summary: Obviously when I put the form into the computer it came up with the Tulloch as the form reference. I do think there are several top five hopes from that race and the odds allow me to back a few, but Sky Lab and Montefilia were good enough in the Guineas to make them the two to beat. I thought Khoekhoe looked the winner until his fitness gave out last start and he can improve here while Zakspeed is not bred to get the 2400m but his last 200m last start was a sign he might be on the up. Toscanini is hard to line up, but his form in the races against the older horses is good. I am usually all over the NZ form lines, but they have shown that form is not quite good enough over the last three weeks.

Punters Club Investments

$120 win @$5.00 No.3 Sky Lab
$150 win @$4.00 No.16 Montefilia
$  70 win @$11.00 No.8 Khoekhoe
$30 win + $50 place @$71.00 + $15.00 No.9 Prompt Prodigy
$30 each way $41.00 + $11.00 No.11 Toscanini
$10 each way $201.00 + $51.00 No.14 Zakspeed

T.J.Smith Stakes

1. Bivouac - 84. Just not sure he is racing right at his best this prep. At his best he is a definite winning hope, but he will be running with my support.
2. Nature Strip - 100. Two runs this prep have been top class. Clear top rater here and if he shows up he is a good bet.
3. Eduardo - 100. He is in career best form, loves Randwick, no chinks at the 1200m and comes off a barrier trial win against the handicappers. Trainer could not have him any more primed.
4. Zoutori - 80. Again he looks to be in career best form and deserves to be here. Needs to improve to win, but can run well.
5. Masked Crusader - 90. His last start showed just how much he has improved. He steps up to the A Grade here, but he did beat Bivouac home two back. Should get a similar run to last start, and do no work early and be kept for the late surge. Winning hope.
6. Dirty Work - 80. He is racing well without luck. I would like to see him sit forward but still only a top four hope.
7. Order Of Command - 75. Great effort last time out, but he lo0oks outclassed here.
8. Eleven Eleven - 72. Looks to be starting his Stradbroke prep here. Not at WFA.
9. Libertini - 78. Tends to drop off her fresh runs, and she will need to be at her best to win here.
10. Haut Brion Her. Scratched
11. September Run - 80. Needs to improve and I am looking at her Sydney form and seeing a drop in rating from her Melbourne form. She can win without me.

Ratings

1. No.3 Eduardo - 100
2. No.2 Nature Strip - 100
3. No.5 Masked Crusader - 90
4. No.1 Bivouac - 84
5. No.4 Zoutori - 80
6. No.6 Dirty Work - 80
Add ins for any scratchings are No.11 & No.9
Recommended Bet: $30 win No.5 Masked Crusader
                              $20 win No.2 Nature Strip
Precedent: No.3 Eduardo

Summary: For me there are only three winning hopes. Nature Strip, Eduardo and the new kid on the block, Masked Crusader. He needs to improve but I will have Masked Crusader as the main bet and save on the Big E. Dirty Work is racing well without luck and Zoutori is a good sprinter, but I am suspecting he is a better Melbourne way horse.

Punters Club Investments

$150 win @$4.80 No.3 Eduardo
$200 win @$9.50 No.5 Masked Crusader
$150 win $3.80 No.2 Nature Strip

Doncaster Mile

1. Mugatoo - 100. Looks well placed and he and Avilius are the best weighted horses in the race. Deserved favorite.
2. Avilius - 100. His two runs this prep have been great. I am still not sure about him in a bottomless heavy track, but he has to be a huge chance.
3. Samadoubt - 75. Has too much against. Wet track, a run short and the barrier with speed inside him.
4. Star Of The Seas - 85. Not sure what happened last start. Back up to the 1600m should suit. Top four hope.
5. Olmedo - 73. On his Australian runs he is better off in Melbourne.
6. Shout The Bar - 82. Just forgetting that run last start. Likes the distance, will go forward, and should be near her fitness peak. I can see her belying her $51.00 quote.
7. Gem Song - Scratched. I thought he was a huge hope here.
8. Zaaki - 70. How does this horse get a run? If it wins I will call Donald Trump the best President ever.
9. Aegon - 83. Top quality colt and he is well placed on the heavy. It also does seem he likes his races spaced, so the month between runs is nice.
10. Cascadian - 87. He has been placed at the mile at group 1 level, but I think he comes into this race in career best form. He is a bit of a non winner but he is a definite place hope.
11. Dalasan - 78. If the track gets to soft, he could be a top five hope. He is one of these former group 1 place getters who shows up out of form and at $51.00+ who runs okay. Can not win but could run well enough to earn a cheque.
12. Think It Over - 92. The heavy track is my only concern. On form he is the clear top rater. Loves Randwick, loves the 1600m and he is a George Ryder winner dropping in weight. Top three certainty.
13. Funstar - 80. Her second in the Epsom behind a quality mare, is good enough to win here, but her last run was shocking. Maybe the heavy and the 1600m could have her a chance. Not for me.
14. Best Of Days - 87. This horse for me is coming in under the radar. The heavy track is a concern, but his last five runs are good enough to run well here. If he can handle the track condition he could add to a Godolphin trifecta.
15. I Am Superman - 76. I am a big fan of his, but I am still doubtful at his mile form. Also the heavy to me might see him scratched.
16. Rock - 75. Comes into this off basically a barrier trial run when only clear late and he sprinted the race fastest last 200m. His only heavy track run was a awful 17 length 8th to Verry Elleegant in the Phar Lap Stakes. He has been unable to win a group 1 with things in his favor, so for me on the heavy he can run without my support.
17. Nettoyer - 72. The defending champion but the fact that she actually drops a half kilo on that win last year shows that her form since has been shocking. I suppose the heavy track suits, but not many horses have won back to back Doncasters and she will add to the list who have not done that.
18. Yao Dash - 79. Good win last week. That race has been a shocking guide for the Doncaster. His form is against a lower grade, he hates heavy and not sure the 1600m will suit. Not for me.
19. Mo'Unga - 87. Fits the 3yo criteria coming back to the 1600m from 2000m, and lightly weighted. I have no doubt about him on the heavy and he is in the top three raters for me.
20. Forbidden Love - 85. A bit of a flat run last start. No trouble on the heavy, already a group 1 place getter at 1600m and loves Randwick. Will roll forward and if she can get a smother three wide she will be hard to beat. the only problme I have is that 3yo fillies do not have a great trecord in the race although not many run.
21. Icebath - 84. With the weight, and the barrier and on the heavy she needs to use the barrier to go forward. If she can be more forward over the 1600m she can go close.
22. Wheelhouse - 82. Probably needs to improve to beat Mo'unga, but His heavy track win came at the mile at Randwick, but in inferior class. His Randwick guineas run, has him a hope and he has drawn to sit three wide with cover. can see him running better than his $41.00 quote.

Ratings.

1. No.1 Mugatoo - 100
2. No.2 Avilius - 100
3. No.12 Think It Over - 92
4. No.10 cascadian - 87
5. No.19 Mo'unga - 87
6. No.14 Best Of days - 87.
Add ins for any scratchings are No.20 & No.4
Recommended Bet: $30 win No.12 Think It Over
                              $20 win No.22 Wheelhouse
Precedent: No.19 Mo'unga

Summary: Good edition of the Doncaster, but not sure I would call it a true handicap. The top two are well weighted here and they are right in this race. Down the page Star Of The Seas and Shout The Bar are capable of bouncing back after poor runs last time out, Aegon on a heavy is well placed, Cascadian and Best Of Days can add to a formidable Godolphin trio, Think It Over on form is close to a good bet, but the heavy is the concern, and the bottom four are all hopes. As usual very open race and good luck with all your investments!

Punters Club Investments.

$100 win @$13.00 No. 2 Avilius
$100 win @$14.00 No.12 Think It Over
$20 each way @$41.00 + $10.00 No.14 Best Of Days
$80 win @$9.00 No.19 Mo'unga
$50 each way @$46.00 + $12.00 No.22 Wheelhouse (if he is not here swap to Forbidden Love)
$50 win @$15.00 No.9 Aegon

Sorry guys the group 1 is at Te Rapa.

Australian Oaks

1. Montefilia - 78. Fillies who have run in the derby and then in this race do not have a great winning record here. My records show that Research is the only one to win, and she did win both races. She is classy, but I will take her on as I think there are better 2400m horses in the race. She has been a run behind all prep so she should have some improvement in her from last weeks run.
2. Amarelinha - 80. Again not sure she is a genuine 2400m horse and she sprinted quickly from the 250m last start but the second and third fillies did pull ground off her late. She can win, but she is a place hope for me.
3. Hungry Heart - 80. Won well last time out but the soft track and the 2400m give me huge concerns. She gets back and will be giving all her main rivals a start so for me she is a non bet.
4. Harmony Rose - 81. It is extremely vital for her to settle. She will lead but she needs to save something for the last 200m because there are strong 2400m horses in this race. I think she has the class to win and wet or dry does not matter, but she needs to settle early to win this.
5. Impercunious - 78. She might be the one who can improve from the Vinery. She is one dimensional, so she will be giving a start to a few, but she is bred to get the 2400m and she kept coming last start. I think the wet track swings in her favor over Hungry Heart and at $18.00 she is a good each way hope, as long as she does get back to far.
6. Duais - 84. If she was a Waller or Godolphin runner she would be $5.00. Good strong win last week, the 2400m is no problem what so ever and she is improving just at the right time. She does not want a heavy track, but if we get a soft she can win. She looks way overs to me.
7. Bargain - 80. Forget every run she had before last week as she needs 2000m to just get warm. Again looks to be peaking at the right time and she can use the gate with McDonald aboard. Not underestimating.
8. Land Ahoy - 74. Outpointed by others last week, and she might be a Queensland Oaks type.
9. Signore Nera - 74. Similar to Land Ahoy, might see her in Brisbane.
10. Sassysav - 65. Okay this stable won the derby last week, but if this filly wins this race I will give up punting forever.

Ratings.

1. No.6 Duais - 84
2. No.4 Harmony Rose - 81
3. No.7 Bargain - 80
4. No.2 Ameralinha - 80
5. No.3 Hungry Heart - 80
6. No.1 Montefilia - 78
Add ins for any scratchings are No.5 & No.8
Recommended Bet: $10 win No.20 win No.4 Harmony Rose
                             $10 win + $15 place No.6 Duais
                             $5 win + $10 place No.5 Impecunious
Precedent: No.6 Duais

Summary: Obviously the main form for everyone will be the group 1 form and on form rightly so. However I am not selling last weeks Adrian Knox short and I think the quinella can run well. Both Duais and Bargain look ideally suited at 2400m and I can see them running better than their prices. Of the favorites, Harmony Rose, and Amarelinha are the two I will back, but all of the favorites do have a chink in their chances. If Impecunious can sit closer over the longer distance she is a great chance.

Punters Club Investments

$150 win @ $3.70 No.4 Harmony Rose
$120 win @ $5.50 No.2 Amarelinha
$30 win + $60 place @$17.00 + $4.80 No.5 Impecunious
$40 win + $100 Place $21.00 + $5.50 No.6 Duais

Sydney Cup

1. The Chosen One - 82. His last two runs have been below what is required but he looks to be on a similar prep to last year's spring. He won brilliantly over 1700m then his next two runs were below that rating, and his next two were a third in the Caulfield Cup, and fourth in the Melbourne Cup. Looks well weighted here with only 56 kilos, he loves Randwick can handle wet or dry but not heavy. He will need a Bowman special, and if he had drawn better then he would have been a place special. Has come in from $26.00 to $16.00 and he looks a good each way bet.
2. Southern France - 82. Is on the European 3200m prep and I thought his two runs this prep have been right on the mark. My only concern is the 3200m, but his two 3200m runs have been a 9 length defeat by Stradivarius and a 6.5 length defeat behind Vow And Declare at Flemington. I would like to see him use the gate and sit a little closer during the run, but again I can see McDonald getting every hope to win group 1 number 52.
3. Sound - 78. His 3200m form is at a lower level, but he is in good form and it was just a tick over run last start. He has not carried 54 kilos for a while and he is drawn to sit wide with cover. Not sure he has the finish to win but good top four hope (you might see that comment for a few here).
4. Quick Thinker - 77. Drawn poorly, but should offset that by rolling forward. His win last week was good, but that race has been as hocking guide to this races winner. He has the class to run well and can finish top four.
5. Chapada - 74. Good run last time out, but I feel there are better suited runners at the 3200m. On his breeding he is no chance of running the 3200m but his trainer knows what it takes to run well at the distance.
6. Shraaoh - 77. I thought he ran well two back and backed him last time, but that was a shocking run. He has the ability to run well at the 3200m and he looks overs.
7. Miami Bound - 82. Her form has been fantastic this prep without winning. Drawn to get a good run, and I think she is a winning hope, but she might be a tad short for me to back.
8. Spirit Ridge - 83. This is the one I am warming to. His form is good enough to win here. It might be a little too soon for him but he will give a good sight. I hate to say this but if he had a jockey with a better record at 2400m+,  he would be my main bet. This is a huge opportunity for Robbie Dolan, and his confidence will not be high after Mo'unga's poor effort last week. can win.
9. Hush Writer - 69. Got walloped by Quick Thinker last week and he will lead the first time around, but not a winning hope here.
10. Favorite Moon - 86. Gets every hope from the gate. McEvoy aboard, in good form, but has not run at the 3200m. Leading chance, but would not take anything under $5.00.
11. Rondinella - 81. Good run last week. I still think she needs dry to win here, but she ran fourth to Shraaoh two years ago, and drawn to get a lovely run. Can see her running well.
12. She's Ideel - 85. Looks a lovely race for her. Nice weight, drawn well, in very very good form and has been set for the race. If she gets any luck late in the straight she wins.
13. Realm Of Flowers - 82. At the start of her campaign she was no chance here for me, but I must admit her preparation maps well for this race.  I thought her run last spring in the Sandown Cup behind Carif with 56 kilos was excellent and she looks like wet or dry is no concern. $7.50 into $6.50 and I am expecting her to be favorite before the start. Another runner with a jockey who needs to show his wares here, with a great opportunity.
14. Sacramento - 72. Coming through lower grade races and not here after last weeks run.
15. Good Idea - 76. At least we know he will run the 3200m. Can not win, but goes in all the exotics.
16. Selino - 77. Looks to be the waller european down in the weights who can run well. Needs to improve to place, but he can run top four.

Ratings.

1. No. 10 - Favorite Moon - 86
2. No. 12 - She's Ideel     - 85
3. No.   8 - Spirit Ridge    - 83
4. No. 13 - Realm Of Flowers - 82
5. No.   1 - The Chosen One - 82
6. No.   2 - Southern France - 82
Add ins for any scratchings are No.7 & No.11.
Recommended Bet: $20 win No.12 She's Ideel
$10 each way No.1 The Chosen One
                              $10 win No.2 Southern France
Precedent: No.2 Southern France

Summary: Good strong staying test here. Form coming from everywhere. favorite Moon comes in with a similar form line to last years international, not sure if that is a good or bad thing. Down the page. The Chosen One maps well here and he and Southern France are both top hopes. Sound, Quick Thinker, Shraaoh and Miami Bound are all capable, but for all three do need to improve to win. Spirit Ridge might be next years cup winner, but no reason he can not run well this weekend. Rondinella is a strange one, but on her run in this two years ago, she can run top four. She's Ideel and Realm Of Flowers for me are the two main bets.  Good luck with all your investment.

Punters Club Investments.

$130 win @$7.50   No.13 Realm Of Flowers.
$110 win @$8.50   No.12 She's Ideel
$  80 win @$9.00   No. 2 Southern France
$  60 win @$14.00 No.11 Rondinella
$  30 win + $40 place @$41.00 + $11.00 No.6 Shraaoh
$  25 each way           @$41.00 + $11.00 No.3 Sound

Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

1. Addeybb - 100. No reason why he can not turn the tables here.
2. Sir Dragonet - 90. He showed me last start that wet or dry he can mix it with the best. Only has to make up two lengths (maybe Addeybb has improvement), but I think he can go close here.
3. Mugatoo - 78. Not here.
4. Think It Over - 80. He is a 2000m Randwick WFA winner, but this is the creme de la creme. I love him but if wins this he is a superstar.
5. Samadoubt - 65. Scratched.
6  Dalasan - 80. Do not think he is a WFA horse so he can run without my money. but his trainer knows how to pull off a long shot win.
7. Verry Elleegant - 100. The one to beat!
8. Mo'unga - 70. The 3yo's are not up to the best this season.

Ratings.

1. No.7 Verry Elleegant - 100
2. No.1 Addeybb - 100
3. No.2 Sir Dragonet - 90
4. No.4 Think It Over - 80
5. No.6 Dalasan - 80
6. No.3 Mugatoo - 78
Add ins for any scratchings are No. 8 Mo'unga.
Recommended Bet: $50 win No.1 Addeybb
Precedent: No.7 Verry Elleegant

Summary: This is the one we have all been looking forward to. The top two raters will be hard to beat, but I am not downplaying Sir Dragonet, It takes a good horse to win a Cox Plate and he showed last start that now he is fully fit, he can run the race of his life.

Punters Club Investments

$300 win @$2.60 No.7 Verry Elleegant
$200 win @$3.00 No.1 Addeybb

Queen Of The Turf Stakes

1. Probabeel - 90. If she is at her best she will win here, however I am having a serious doubt about any of those horses who ran in the All Star Mile. I see why she is a favorite, but no way can I take $2.50.
2. Colette - 82. Not sure what is happening with her prep, but she can definitely win this race.
3. Greysful Glamour - 85. Back to the scene of her Villiers win. Her last run was good, but she was beaten fair and square by Nimalee. Can give a good sight.
4. Nimalee - 90. She looks well in here. Great win last start and she will give a great sight from the front. She meets a few very very good mares badly at the weights, but she is on the up and $15.00 is way overs.
5. Nettoyer - 77. Not a bad effort last week, but she is not well placed here. There are others who are better.
6. Quantum Mechanic - 77. Not a bad run last start. This race has proven a good hunting ground for those coming through the Sunline Stakes. She is drawn to get a lovely run behind the speed of Greysful Glamour and Nimalee. Might be overs!
7. Vanna Girl - 72. Not up to these, especially from the gate.
8. Rich Hips - 75. Going well but there are several others who have her covered on her last start here.
9. All Saints Eve - 75. Look we are getting a good price and I might be eager to take the $31.00, but she is taking on a very good field here, and I am not sure she is quite up to these group 1 mares.
10. Missybeel - 75. She will not get it easy in front if they go forward and she is not up to these.
11. Odeum - 85. Looks to be coming here with grand final mind set. Her two runs this perp have been good, but out to the 1600m looks ideal. Drawn to get a lovely run and is a winning hope.
12. Vangelic - 77. Not sure she is a miler, not sure she is a group 1 filly and I am absolutely certain she will get a tough run when they try and use the gate. Outside hope here for me.
13. Starelle - 77. Not hopeless, but she can run without me here.

Ratings.

1. No.1 Probabeel - 90
2. No.4 Nimalee - 90
3. No.11 Odeum - 85
4. No.3  Greysful Glamour
5. No.2  Colette - 82
6. No. 6 Quantum Mechanic - 77.
Add ins for any scratchings are No.5 & No.12
Recommended Bet: $20 win No.1 Probabeel
                              $10 win No.4 Nimalee
$10 each way No.6 Quantum Mechanic
Precedent: No. 6 Quantum Mechanic

Summary: Obviously the top two are the class runners and I will not dissuade you from backing them but I have a serious doubt about how horses have recovered from that Valley track on All Star Mile day, and unless James Cummings has been playing silly buggers, Collette has been trained for a 2000m or 3200m race on this day. I just can not back either one at their current prices. I am very strong on the Emancipation Stakes form here. Greysful Glamour and Nimalee will get a lovely run on speed and they will be hard to get past. Quantum Mechanic comes through the Emancipation as well where she ran well and also the Sunline Stakes, which has been a good guide for Victorians who run here. Odeum has been specifically set for this one race and this stable's runners have a knack of performing well in grand finals.

Punters Club Investments

$300 win @$2.70 No.1 Probabeel
$50 each way @ $16.00 + $4.80 No.4 Nimalee
$50 each way @ $21.00 + $5.00 No.6 Quantum Mechanic

Good luck with all your investments!

I have been asked about the Punters Club investments.

Understand that it is a punters club. I am just one member, and yes I do the form analysis for the club, but the club members do make the decisions on the bets.

So for instance although I personally believe that Probabeel is a huge risk at the current price, a majority of the members, want to go with the ratings and make her the main bet.

If it was up to me I would distribute the $300 on her amongst Greysful Glamour and Odeum, but that is just my view.

Queen Of The Turf Stakes:          -$250.00

Outlay: $2430.00                           Return: $2200.00                              Profit/Loss:  -$  230.00

                                                                                                   Total Profit/Loss: +$5039.50

After Saturday I will do a final tally from the Lightning Stakes through to Saturday.

The Punters Club have asked me to do the same thing for the winter carnivals in Adelaide and Brisbane so we will start a new from next Saturday at Morphettville with the Robert Sangster and the Australasian Oaks through to the Tatts Tiara at Eagle Farm (well hopefully at Eagle Farm).

Alright now to our group 1 previews.

Champagne Stakes

1. Captivant - 84. Good run in the Sires and he can win, but not taking anything shorter than $5.00.
2. Hilal - 83. Has almost identical from to Captivant but for me he is a better chance to win here. Deserving favorite.
3. Converge - 78. Good win last week and he can win, but there are a few in front of him.
4. Daily Bugle - 80. I am not saying he can make up the 5 lengths on Captivant and Hilal from the Sires, but he looks a definite improver up to 1600m. At least a place hope.
5. I've Been There - 72. Look I am all for having a throw at the stumps in a group 1, however this might be a bit rich. Good luck to them, but no chance from my ratings.
6. Maurice's Medad - 76. Not sure he is good enough to win, but he will sit forward from the gate, and he can kick on for a top four finish.
7. Arnaqueur - 76. Good run last week, and he looks a nice horse but this might be too soon. Can run top four but not a winning hope.
8. Akahata - 80. The place getters from the Fernhill do not usually run well here, but I like him if we get speed. If he can sit one or two pairs closer I ca see him running on hard.
9. Patton - 70. Must have shown the stable something to face the starter here, but on my ratings if he won it would be a bigger upset than Lunar Fox winning the Guineas.
10. Port Louis - 70. The increase to the 1600m suits, but too many things need to go right for him in my ratings. No surprise if he ran well, but not a winner for me.
11. Wolfburn - 72. Looks to be making up the numbers here.
12. Lease - 75. Not sure his a hope here.
13. Queen Of Wizardry - 80. Okay, okay, I know I have been ranting on this filly with no sign of a return, but this is the chance. 1600m, tick, Randwick, tick, 3rd up, tick, and a huge drop in grade from her last two and back onto the good track. She ran on well last start, but she does need either speed or to sit closer from the gates. I am getting $12.00 so she is one of my bets.
14. Gin Martini - 82. I thought she was sensational in the Baillieu. Again she is similar to QOW in that she seems to be a slow beginner from the gates, but her last start finish was good enough to win here. Good value.

Ratings

1. No. 1 Captivant - 84
2. No.2 Hilal - 83
3. No.14 Gin Martini - 82
4. No.13 Queen Of Wizardry - 80
5. No.8 Akahata - 80
6. No.4 Daily Bugle - 80
Add ins for any scxratchings are No.3 & No.6
Recommended Bet: $30 win No.2 Hilal
$10 win No.13 Queen Of Wizardry
$10 each way No.4 Daily Bugle
Precedent: No.14 Gin Martini

Summary: Not sure we have a group 1 field here, but someone will be a group 1 winner after the race. Hilal and Captivant were good in the Sires, and they can win, but Hilal is the choice for me out of them. Queen Of Wizardry was good very late there, but she needs to be able to sit closer in the run. Gin Martini was sensational in the Baillieu, but like Queen Of Wizardry she needs to find a way to sit a little closer in the run. Not sure the Fernhill is the right form race but the winner can run well and Akahata will be finishing hard. Hilal the main bet, with Queen Of Wizardry and Gin Martini the savers. Daily Bugle for me is the longshot with a good chance out to the 1600m.

Punters Club Investments.

$200 win @$3.40 No.2 Hilal
$  80 win @$13.00 No.13 Queen Of Wizardry
$  80 win @$11.00 No.14 Gin Martini
$  40 win + $100 Place @$41.00 + $11.00 No.4 Daily Bugle

All Aged Stakes.

1. Kolding - 85. Ticks a lot of boxes. Randwick, barrier, positioing during teh run and he is a genuine group 1 WFA horse. My only concern is stepping back to the 1400m, but there is good speed here and if he sits right behind the pacemakers he will strong at the finish.
2. Masked Crusader - 82. On his current form he is the one to beat, but he has found a good 1400m race to see if he is a genuine 1400m WFA horse. I think he deserves to be the favorite, but I can not back him at $2.80. Need at least $4.00.
3. Zoutori - 79. Once again he is more a 1200 horse, but he is in career best form. Great run last start and he run on well. Gets the gate to do absolutely no work early and I am not sure he can win, but he will give his best.
4. Dreamforce - 84. His George Ryder run has him a winning hope. He will need some favors from his gate and he will not get any peace in front.
5. Cascadian - 79. Great win in the Doncaster and he deserved it. Not sure the inside gate is good for him, and the drop back to 1400m has not been a good recipe in this race. Not for me.
6. Fifty Stars - 75. Not sure 1400m is his go, and he comes off that bottomless track in the All Star Mile. His Randwick record is not great so I will be leaving him out.
7. Imaging - 81. When I put the data into the computer I was expecting him to be near the top raters. However reviewing his stats I can see why his rating. Record at randwick not good, group 1 record not good. However I feel he way over the odds here. Drawn to sit three deep with cover, his 1400m record is good, and he does perform well fresh so no problems with the 7 weeks coming into this race. I also like horses who come into this race from Victoria fresh, and not having run during the Sydney carnival. I have to back him at $21.00.
8. Kementari - 74. Mr Bridesmaid. I wish you well if you back him you thrillseekers, but he will not be getting any of mine.
9. I Am Superman - 80. Not sure what to make of him. I have thought he was a group 3 horse. He does get his perfect scenario here. Drawn to roll forward (not sure he will lead but he will sit one out one back), dry track, the drier the better and the 1400m is his pet distance. Again I am not sure he is a group 1 WFA racehorse but he is $19.00 here and that is worth having a investment to find out how good he is.
10. Savatiano - 83. Comes into this off two good wins this prep. She steps up in grade here and she will need to bring a career best but she can win. Mares do not have a great record in this race.
11. Tagaloa - 81.Sets up nicely here and if you want to back him I will not tell you not to. I am convinced the 3yo's this season are not as good as needed to win here, but he loves 1400m, his only run at Randwick was a nice 2 length second to Farnon last year. Again he is a Victorian coming here without a lead up run in Sydney. If this was a normal season I would have him a huge chance, but as stated I feel the 3yo's are just below the top older horses.
12. Prague - 77. I have no doubt he is talented enough to win this, but he is his own worst enemy. If he jumps with the field he can run top four.
13. Peltzer - 75. Even if we were at Rosehill his form is two levels below this. Beaten in a far easier race last start and he is up two kilos here and comes from Rosehill to Randwick. Also I am convinced his best ratings are on wet tracks, and he would need a career best to win here.

Ratings.

1. No.1 Kolding - 85
2. No.4 Dreamforce - 84
3. No.10- Savatiano - 83
4. No.2 Masked Crusader - 82
5. No.7 Imaging - 81
6. No.11 Tagaloa - 81
Add ins for any scratchings are No.9 & No.3
Recommended Bet: $20 win No.2 Masked Crusader
                             $10 win  No.1 Kolding
                              $10 each way No.7 Imaging
Precedent: No.11 Tagaloa

Summary: This is an absolutely intriguing race, with form coming from different directions. Down the page. Kolding has been here before and he is right in this. Masked crusader was outstanding last start, but he needs to be able to step away with the field and there for I need him at $4.00 to back. Zoutori has been trained as a pure sprinter the last two preps and he is in career best form and his last 200m last start was very good. Dreamforce is a old stager who would not surprise if he won. I do not like horses coming back from 1600m to this race, and so that means Cascadian and Fifty Stars are ruled out. Kementari, well he is kementari so if you wish to back him then good luck. I Am Superman finds the perfect race to run for a group 1 1400m, dry track and drawn to roll forward. Savatiano is in great form, but this race is a stronger race than the Canterbury Stakes and she will need to be right at her best to win. I have said before and I will say it again I am absolutely certain the 3yo's this season are not as good as the older horses so for me the 3yo's here can not win, however Tagaloa is the best chance for me as the other two have some chinks in their armour. Good race to complete the group 1's for the Sydney autumn!

Punter's Club Investments

$70 win @$13.00 No.1 Kolding
$70 win @$12.00 No.11 Tagaloa
$100 win + $100 Place @$21.00 + $5.00 No.7 Imaging
$  60 win + $100 Place @$19.00 + $4.50 No.9 I Am Superman

Good luck with all your investments!

Okay guys just before we get into this weeks ratings, the wash up of the punters club.

I have not had time to do a full summary so I will do that next week, but here is where we finished.

Champagne Stakes: -$500.00
All Aged Stakes:     +$910.00

Outlay: $1000.00                                  Return: $910.00               Profit/Loss: -$90.00

                                                                                         Total Profit/Loss: +$4949.50

The Punters Club have asked me to keep recording the results for our group 1 investments here.

This means I will do a full review of all group 1 races for Adelaide and Brisbane until the Tatts Tiara.
