Confused Yeah an illegal Chinese or Indo fishing net no doubt, the damage these countries are doing to the marine ecosystems up there is pure evil it really is. May a 1000 endless wild storms keep them from sailing their boats in those waters ever again.

US Diplomatic staff in Havana have been suffering soft tissue brain injuries for about 4 years.

They have never been able to work out what exactly is going on but you expect Albo to know what has happened and to take action that is satisfactory to the Liberal Party.

For four days the government kept the secret before denouncing the Chinese government, yet in that time Albo was at the APEC conference in the USA where he made no reference to the incident. Was he too timid to denounce China whilst in the presence of President Xi at that conference?

President Xi has played Albo like a fiddle as this incident took place only a week after Albo's so called "resounding successful "trip to China.

If China's ultimate intention is to invade Taiwan it makes one wonder if Albo is PM, although hopefully he has been well put to pasture by then, what his reaction would be to the dictator in China ?

Not a fan of Albo aren't you? Always whinging and complaining.

Neither at the last election were 68% of Australians who did not vote for the ALP with their first preference, bit like the 60 % who voted against Albo's  Voice campaign.

I see Bob has selectively and without attribution pinched several portions of Andrew "Rabid Right Wing" Bolt's unsurprisingly biased Hun article regarding the current situation.

Bob and Bolt: what a dynamic duo - not.

Bob showing a clear lack of understanding of how preferential voting works or what its purpose is.  Worth noting that 19.55% of total votes flowed up to the ALP via preferences, only 12.17% of the votes flowed up to the LNP via preferences.

One could also suggest 64.3% of the population rejected the divisive Morrison government.

Alternatively we could also say that 44.83% of the votes went to the ALP/Greens alliance, although not a formal coalition we all know that Greens votes are far more likely to flow to the ALP than the LNP and Greens voters are far more likely to preference the ALP than the LNP.

But we all know what they say about statistics.

SC, you must read the Herald Sun a little more diligently. That sonar incident was highlighted on Page 2, Bolt's column was on page 21, and in neither article was there any mention of President Xi's intention to invade Taiwan at a future date, however as you posted ,I did extract a few of Bolt's potent phrases, highlighting our hapless PM.

Afros regardless of your attempt to suggest Albo is popular, according to a poll this month
the average approval rating for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, as of November 2nd, 2023, is 44.6%, with a disapproval rating of 44%.
I don't what happened to the remaining 11.4%,,but like myself still,  44% do not fancy him.

I wasn't trying to prove anything about Albanese's popularity, rather pointing out how the election data could be manipulated toward proving/disproving any argument.

SC, From memory there was a former PM who got into a bit of trouble, despite international tensions at that time, for exporting iron ore to Japan prior to WW2.

I know China might not rain down lobster on Sydney Harbour, as Japan subsequently did with its bombs in the Pacific in WW2 but Albo should be wary about cozying up to a regime that has a long-term intention of invading Taiwan.

Rumors are gathering pace that Linda Burney, the Minister for Indigenous Affairs, is about to step down from her ministry for health reasons, and this will give Albo the opportunity to reshuffle of his ministries. Under performing Ministers for Immigration and Home Affairs. who both stuffed up the release of those criminal refugees, are in the firing line if not just for reshuffle, but demotion to the backbench.

The uncomfortable truth about record high immigration levels, rents and inflation

And yet, despite the overwhelming evidence, few appear willing to confront one of the key forces driving inflation.

Rather than whack everyone with ever higher interest rates because rents are going crazy, wouldn't it make more sense to simply scale back the level of immigration, even temporarily, to take the pressure off rents and help lower inflation?

All those people arriving need somewhere to live and the increased demand is driving rents higher.

An honest politician is one who when he is bought will stay bought.

The leader of the Opposition has called on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to disclose what he discussed with Chinese President Xi Jinping about last week's untimely naval incident.

Despite Mr Albanese’s two meetings with Xi Jinping in Beijing and again in San Francisco at the APEC Summit, tensions have risen again between Australia and China after Defence Minister Richard Marles accused the Chinese Peoples’ Liberation Army of “unsafe and unprofessional” conduct.

Mr Marles’ comments were in response to an incident where a PLA warship continued to move towards the HMAS Toowoomba off the coast of Japan last week, ignoring warnings that Australian Defence Force divers were in the water.

Australian officials have said the warship was seen using its hull-mounted sonar while the divers were in the water, with one sustaining a minor injury likely caused by the sonar pulses.

Peter Dutton has questioned Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's "strength of leadership" after he refused to disclose whether he had discussed a naval incident involving Australian Defence Force divers and a Chinese Peoples' Liberation Army warship with Chinese President Xi Jinping. After Mr Albanese sidestepped questions asking him if he raised the issue with President Xi while at APEC, saying he doesn’t talk about “private meetings on the sidelines”, Peter Dutton called on the PM to be more transparent with Australians.

“He owes it to the Australian people. You need a prime minister who’s going to tell the truth and he also owes it to the men and women of the Australian Defence Force,” he told Sunrise host Natalie Barr on Tuesday morning.

“They want to know that when an action has been taken against them, when one of them gets injured, the Prime Minister is going to speak with a very loud voice.

“What the PM said is exactly right, it was a dangerous act and if only if he had raised or mentioned those words to the Chinese president in a respectful way, but in a forceful way. China’s been critical of us in the last 24 hours.

Mr Dutton said if Mr Albanese hadn’t discussed it with President Xi then he should at least admit that and “apologise

PT, do you value $30 bn in trade above the lives of Australian sailors diving to unentangle fishing nets around a frigate's propellers?
