The pathetic fact is they got 30% of the primary vote.

I will await until those pre post votes come in plus those postal votes before I am done.
The oysters and lobster I had tonight went done well, although I only washed them down with a domestic red.

 not enough postal votes to change the result. If preferences go the way expected, Josh is gone.

Haha, they ambushed Simon Holmes a court, Jane Hume had a free pop at him.
He repeatedly asked he to retract her lies.
She told him to stick it up his jumper.
I hope he breaks her financially….

Nationals likely retain all of their seats.

Frydenberg in danger, Dutton looking good.

Fair chance Spuddy is the next Libs leader, unless Scomo tries to pull a Trump.

Interesting times ahead as the coalition will likely lurch further to the right in a time when the nation seems to be veering slightly left, driven by climate change concerns.

 It is going to piss of so many people that Albanese is PM.

 He's as weak as...and that great team better keep him from too many press conferences...but just knowing that Smirko got rolled by someone like Albo is worth staying up for...

 now all I need is my footy teams to win...

Okay I have taken a bet with a couple of mates after doing my number crunching. The multi is.

Labor = 69 seats

Coalition = 65 seats

Independents = 9 seats

Greens = 4 seats

UAP = 2 seats

Katter Party = 1 seat

One Nation = 1 seat (Hunter)

 If I didn't find Chris Pyne so funny, I'd actively dislike him.

 But he is hilarious.

Where do you get only 69 for the ALP? All the networks are already calling them in the 70s.

 that was an interesting stat.

 no Liberal who has taken over the leadership after an election defeat has ever ended up PM..

 in which case...put Dutton in as opposition leader...

Conceded they've been beaten, conceded it was on him, cleanly cut ties to allow Albanese to take over and also cleanly cut ties for someone else to take on the LNP leadership, did it about as well as could be expected.

 Western Australia might deliver a majority government...quite a few seats in doubt, but favouring Labor.

 I might add that it will be great to see so many women in parliament...

He did claim he was proud of the economic achievments (trillion dollar debt???), but I guess he had to given they're "the great economic managers" and he didn't actually say what problems led to defeat, just saying it was his fault as the boss of the show.  He has lost government despite the ALP getting less than 32% of the primary vote, obviously a coalition loss rather than a Labor win.
