aa. At least you've still got some good bits!

Great point you made earlier -
So many top stallions here, why risk the travel o/s. At least not until she's got a few foals safe on the ground.
I'd love to see her with Lonhro (Pierro etc) for the Inghams connection.
On type and what they're producing, I'd choose my faves Dundeel or Fiorente.
In any case, how exciting!

We all know that breeding is hit and miss , bit like and arranged marriage ..
So why not let WINX choose... Let her walk up and down a few stallion barns ...
She might just park herself ..muzzle up .......
Just a thought ..tv series every week different farm ......Or have the stallions parade for her..

Just imagine the ratings winner  ....That would be and odds on bet

A couple of things that people may like to consider.  For those who have suggested Snitzel, she has three half brothers by that stallion who certainly have not matched her quality.  One of the issues I suggest with that mating is that it has a significant speed bias which is certainly not her forte.  One more interesting factor is if we look at the direct female line of Winx.  It is hardly one that will get most breeders too excited.  The immediate family is a fairly moderate sprinter/miler NZ one, so first impressions will be to try an repeat the balance of speed and stamina to reinforce the positives in the mighty mare's pedigree.

I'd give Lonhro first crack. Well...I'd actually give Frankel first crack but that won't happen so I'll go with Lonhro.

Street Cry certainly has been the most spectacular success in regard to breeding to the female line, so possibly duplication of aspects of street Cry's female line is an option

Are the owners breeding to race? Or to sell?

ZED would be a great choice, but I doubt the owners will think outside of the square, especially if they’re going to the sales.

But personally I’d be sending her to NZ to either SAVABEEL or TAVISTOCK.

My guess is they'd send her to an aus stallion as an endorsement of the local industry rather than going offshore.

Interesting to hear one analyst note that she's the first of the recent superstar mares in aus to go to stud and be by a boom stallion which I guess just makes the progeny even more valuable.

Hello,
like everybody else I was looking for a good mating for Winx.

On paper following match looks quite good.
Neorealism/Winx:
Halo 4x5 Halo
Hold Your Peace 4x5
Boulevard 5x5
Raise a Native 5x5

I do know Neorealism is a new Stallion and have still to proof his value. So the chances are pretty low, he will be choosed as a mate for Winx.

best regards, Ticino

Long way to go but maybe Adelaide could be a mating for Winx.  I think the Sadler's Wells line would be better than Danehill.  They have a leaner build.  I think the Danehill build (which seems to be very dominant) would defeat what she was.

I do not have a list of Australian stallion, and I doubt if I did test-matings of them with Winx anyone would take any notice.
............................................................................................
Features in the Winx pedigree that may have given her the zip is -
The 4th dam of Street Cry, Costa Sola, matches well with Book Of Verse in the 4th generation of the dam of Winx, Vegas Showgirl.
This Costa Sola / Book Of Verse match has two sets of full siblings:
Sind (m) and Stafaralla (f) [Solario-Mirawala]
Pharos (m) and Fairway (m) [Phalaris-Scapa Flow]
Mirawala is a daughter of Phalaris
............................................................................................
Miss Winston, in the 5th generation of Street Cry, matches well with Book Of Verse in the 4th generation of the dam of Winx, Vegas Showgirl.
This Miss Winston / Book Of Verse match has two sets of full siblings:
Foxlaw (m) and Aloe (f) [Son-In-Law-Alope]
Pharos (m) and Fairway (m) [Phalaris-Scapa Flow]
The two full-siblings Fairway and Aloe are the sire and dam of Aroma, the 2nd dam of Book Of Verse i.e on the dam line.
If you have a look you can see that three of the four grandparents of Persian Maid, dam of Book Of Verse [Stafaralla; Fairway; Aloe] are full-siblings to horses in Street Cry.

Winx's suitor announced

Racing Article

Racing.com Staff@Racing

12:30pm

, (

Champion mare Winx will be served by I Am Invincible during the upcoming breeding season.

The owners of Winx – Peter and Patty Tighe, Richard Treweeke and Debbie Keptis – issued a statement on Monday afternoon to announce their decision to send their four-time Cox Plate winner to Yarraman Park's leading sire.

"As owners, we have utilised and considered the expert advice of bloodstock professionals both domestically and internationally," the statement read.

"We have sought the opinions of various pedigree consultants, bloodstock agents and stud managers. They provided us with the foundation of information to assess and use to compile the short list of stallions for consideration.

"This process highlighted the extreme depth to the stallion ranks in Australia and across the world, however when considering the options of traveling overseas her welfare remained of the highest priority and we decided she would remain in Australia for her first breeding season.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who made expressions of interest, the level of attention was overwhelming and something we are very grateful for.

"Winx has settled into her new surrounds and seems very content in her retirement but as one chapter closes, another opens as Winx now embarks on her career as a broodmare."

I Am Invincible is the sire of four Australian Group 1 winners this season – including last Saturday's Tatts Tiara winner Invincibella. His service fee for the 2019 breeding season is $247,500.

As Green Desert line hasn't had much success with this family strange mating but then he is the sire in Australia throwing the most stakes performers.

Nice cross for his female line and that of both Winx and Street Cry so maybe that will come into the play and perform for us.

Will be a disaster waiting to happen.

Everything about Winx has been unadventurous.

Her connections have no imagination.

IAI seems extremely weird choice to me. What are they trying to achieve sending her to a 5f flyer? Golden Slipper?Confused It's clearly not the Arc or even the Cox Plate.

This is a mating to produce a show pony for sale.
The stallion chosen is the most expensive stallion.
The owners realise they will not produce another Winx and the best option is to sell big.
I will compare 400+ AUS stallion to Winx and give my opinion later.
First I have to get the pedigrees of those stallions.
