Well here's your chance:

(a) which sires might suit her best; and
(b) what stallions will she actually visit over the next couple of years?

Over to you for what could be a most interesting thread.

Posted this in the Winx thread a few weeks ago.

Yes!!!  You have to admit she can produce more sprint at the finish of her races than some sprinters deliver.  She's not a big muscled monster.  Even now she's usually slighter than most of the field.  Love the hip she has and the way she moves.  Can she pass that on?  Has she a mutated gene?  If so is she the start of a new style of thoroughbred?  What part or mix of her pedigree delivered this unique galloper.

Street Cry was a great sire but two fillies were head and shoulders above the rest.

Al Akbar on the whole an average sire.

Voodoo Rhythm was probably the first Northern Dancer stallion to do ok in Australia - no champion.

Sovereign Edition was a great sire with two winners of the W S Cox Plate and two champion fillies in Analie and Surround also a great broodmare sire with more great fillies in Bounding Away and Petrava.  Put his monster grand daughter Empire Rose against Winx and Winx would be tiny!

Stunning was inbred to Canterbury Pilgrim from the same female line as Turn-To. He sired a champion in Daryl's Joy (W S Cox Plate) ect ect

If you watch her she holds herself still and the legs work overtime - I guess the power coming from her dancers core.  They have plenty of options for stud.  I thought to begin with that her line hasn't worked with Danehill blood - and lets face it most of the best here are of that line.  But I guess Street Cry and Redoute's and Danehill has to be taken into account!  He has a big say in Winx's pedigree.

Surely the Lonhro bloodline and the Sadler's Well (Fairy King) bloodline would suit her.  I don't think we want her producing muscled monsters.  You'd defeat the magic that her build is producing.  So that gives us Pierro, So You Think, Impending, Zoustar, Flying Artie, Dundeel (though can't see a big foal in that mating) etc.

Think nothing would be wrong with the Sunday Silence or different Halo lines.  Pity More than Ready's son Sebring died.  But you have Real Impact and a few others her in Australia.

The Blandford line has a New Zealand Derby winner from her female line which went to stud in Japan.  Not much of that line available but we have a couple of sons of Monsun ie Fiorente.

Likewise not much of Hyperion line available but Spirit of Boom is one of interest here.

Now Green Desert blood has also not been a great success.  But the young stallion Territories has Helen Street as his 4th dam.  She produced Street Cry.  You would also get a double to Street Cry's sire Machiavellian so this one would have to be of interest.

Another line of Northern Dancer which offers a different build is that of Last Tycoon.  So that brings in Written Tycoon as a boy of interest.  Doesn't hurt having Paris Review and Kenmare there also both stallions of interest to Street Cry.

If you go to the Redoute's line the old boy is still here and why go elsewhere there.  Lonhro can't be overlooked for the same reason.

Anyway I'm sure better brains than mine are working on the issue.

For starters do you send her to a sprinter, a sprinter-miler or a miler-middle distance horse?

I think you can almost send her to anything.  She has speed - more finishing speed and most sprinters.  I don't think you want to send her to a muscled monster though.  I think her build is what you want to continue on with if possible.

I'd send her to Zed. Still great value at NZ$4000.

OH and I were just having this discussion.

I would go along the lines of "best to the best".  Just send her to Deep Impact for a SH cover.

She doesn't need to be line bred.  There is nothing that needs to be "strengthened" so why not just pick an outstanding individual and go from there?

You simply send her to Pierro for her first 6 coverings.

I hope they do not do what connections of Black Caviar and Makybe Diva did. Send her to a stallion a few years running.

We wouldn't have had Secretariat were your reasoning to be applied.

The owners are no different to Santic or Harry The Hirer... just like the Diva & BC before her, she’ll be pimped out to curry favour with the aristocracy.

That is a ridiculous theory by Tesio.

If everyone had the money to follow his principle we would have x 4 the horses going to the knackery.

Mr Tesio,

Some people believe enough in Winning on the pokies to do it once, they then repeat this thousands of times and end up broke.

I'm right into line breeding, however in this instance believe you're right on the money Flight.

And as Furious suggests type will be important in the match, so ideally an athletic mid-sized fellow.

They will probably send her to Lonhro at some point. Snitzel and I Am Invincible seem obvious choices. I'd like to see what she could do with Tavistock but unlikely to happen.

Would So You Think be a suitable match for Winx?
Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers

If you send her to something like Snitzel what are you aiming for? Best you could hope for is success in 3yo races.
