Nobody will ever achieve what Sevilla did (barring a rule change) as the Europa winners qualify for the Champions League and teams no longer drop back from the CL to the EL, which no doubt also played a part in Spurs and United making the final.

100%. If you're playing Bodo Glimt in the semi final of the Europa League it's a weaker comp.
Although to be fair to them they did beat Lazio in the qtr final

Caps off a phenomenal debut year. It's average home game attendance this season was 18,890. Best in the league! Amazed to learn that it's actually an amateur club comprising part-timers. Also its squad is composed of predominantly locals. |

Wrong club, its Auckland City FC who are competing in the Fifa Club World Cup, not Auckland FC of the A-League.
They've been OFC Champions 13 times in the last 18 seasons, also winning the NZ League title 10 times in that time.

Oops! I wrongly assumed that the A-League would qualify for a spot, but apparently it's by Federation. So the Oceania Cup winner (Auckland City) qualifies. |

You can get all the fancy rich elites to play over there they want, it's all still just like putting lipstick on a pig imo.
I'll never watch it, much rather watch a lower English division or Euro league, with younger unknowns than that rich glitterati garbage. Hell I'd rather watch the kids over the road at the football ground on the weekends - nights than any bloated Saudi rubbish.

6 weeks out from the mooted start date of the A-League and the fixtures have not even been announced yet, I get they had to wait for the Brisbane Roar and Western United sagas to be played out but surely they could have at least had some fixtures drafted up for any of 3 possible numbers of teams who would be involved pending how each club went? The A-League started out with big dreams but it almost feels like the football equivalent of Orwells classic Animal Farm, the further we go the more the A-League looks like the NSL.

Can't think of a better 9, 10, 11 than Barcelona's.
Yet none of them started! Played Valencia before a crowd of 6,000 at the Women's stadium, where the girls have a 20:1 record after 3 games. Seems to have rubbed off on the hombres who won 6-0. 2nd Half subs Raphina & Lewandowski each goaled twice. |

Forest led 2-0 (courtesy of the Messiah) until 68' against Championship team Swansea in the EFL Cup. Then Socceroo defender Cameron Burgess headed in the box. Then Vipotnik in 90+3'. And Burgess again in 90+7'. Edge of the box from a 30m ricochet Forest fans less than forgiving. |
