I reckon we have seen a future Derby or Cup winner debuting today.

HAHA Resume won't win the Derby or any Cup methinks.
Big win though, three and four wide the whole way and first up over 1400m with a good staying pedigree, and trained by the master Bart Cummings, what's not to like about So You Think?

Seemed a good win, was better being out where it was 4 deep with the leaders with them absolutely walking in front for most of the trip, nothing made any ground just outplugged them. VaD

Was an impressive win...am questioning the quality of horses he beat..shamash has had a few goes and is still a maiden..so dont think they are flash. But..you can only win and he was wide the trip....think "future Derby or Cup winner" may be a tad optimistic.
Djebel...how do you download the race replays...? I'm technically challenged...

He had a good 2yo winner in Queensland on Saturday - Shoot Out, when he won i said on another forum that he would win the Queensland Derby in 2010.

Ditto Vad, ditto Ramono
Maybe more ground = more dominance and he ' over performed' on the short course
Would not be declaring him in anything atm

That race seems to be falling away with some of the better 2 year olds being put away for the spring.

A heads up for the true believers on TBV. Resume will win this saturday. Broke 34s for the last 600m last start - was 15 lengths second last till the 300m and finished within 3 length and now steps up to his minimum ideal distance. A tough and I assure you a very fit horse who likes the mud. A certainty when you consider most of his competitors missed vital track work yesterday. Will waltz in.
The low is moving south now and the meeting should go ahead.

Doomben meeting still on, at this stage
Wednesday, 20 May 2009:
The fate of the Doomben 10,000 meeting remains in the balance following a crisis meeting of officials from Queensland Racing Limited (QRL) and the Brisbane Turf Club.
QRL's racing services manager Paul Brennan and chief steward Wade Birch met with Doomben officials on Wednesday before deciding to proceed as normal with Saturday's fixture.
Birch and course manager Warren Williams inspected the track at 3pm (AEST) on Wednesday following 240 millimetres of rain since Monday and declared it safe for racing.
However, a further track inspection early on Thursday may determine the fate of the meeting.
"We walked the track and at this stage the meeting will go ahead on Saturday as planned, depending on the weather in the next day or two," Birch said.
"The track had a lot of surface water on it this morning but it had drained off when we looked at it this afternoon."
Brennan said it was too early to call off the meeting and no contingency plans had been discussed should the meeting be washed out.
"We'll have a look at the track again in the morning and we'll review the situation then," Brennan said.
"We would like to get an update from the weather bureau in the morning before we make any further decision.
"We'll look at what options we need to take then if the weather stays the same."
Doomben is rated a heavy 10 and the barrier draw for the Group One 10,000 will be conducted at a special function on Wednesday night.
Sydney trainer Grahame Begg is one trainer who favours postponing the meeting until next week.
"I'd be very happy to see it shifted to another day," said Begg.
Begg will saddle up All Silent, who will be ridden by Craig Williams in the Group One Doomben 10,000.
"They shifted the meeting the year Getting Closer won the 10,000 (in 1984)," Begg said.
"It would be very beneficial to everyone, except the sponsors, to shift the meeting."
The Brisbane weather bureau has changed its latest forecast and is now predicting heavy rain until Saturday when it will ease to heavy showers.

I'm really looking forward to this quality 3yo resuming. I hope he can go on with it in the spring, I think Bart did the right thing putting him out after that win.

Is Latin News heading to the Golden Rose? He isn't nominated for the Caulfield Guineas, so I thought he may have gone amiss.
Not sure where he is headed.

If he is sound, then that's what the plan was. Yet he may be injured, hopefully not.
