Day 3
G2 Norfolk Stakes!

Quinella 150/1 & 66/1

That is former maiden Valient Force with Malc.

Malc broke his maiden at Carlisle. (BTW Carlisle United are now in League 1. Probably will be those kind of odds to become champions in 2023-24)

What even more impressive is that he won his first two on the artificial Polytrack surfaces at Kempton and Newcastle...

Aussie owned quinella in R5 at Royal Ascot. Pretty unusual.
Dockland  (OTI racing) beats New Endeavour (Waterhouse / Bott racing) in a photo.

Never have I ever seen a racetrack looking more appealing to the eye than this beautiful layout , the gardens and roses are a picture of sartorial splendour , well done England . StarStarStar

Amazing performance by Shaquille (3c Charm Spirit x Magic, by Galileo). He has missed the start by quite a few lengths but has still managed to finish over the top of them to win the Gp1 Commonwealth Cup from Little Big Bear.

Yes, an amazing performance and here's the video with the start with Shaquille sleeping at the start.

The Gp1 Coronation Stakes has been won by Tahiyra (3f Siyouni x Tarana, by Cape Cross) who defeated Remarquee & Sounds Of Heaven.

That is her 3rd Group One. These were her damline details when she won the Irish One Thousand Guineas last month.

The Gp2 King Edward VII Stakes has been won by King Of Steel (3c Wootton Bassett x Eldacar, by Verglas) who defeated Continuous by more than 3 lengths with Artistic Star 3rd. King Of Steel is a huge horse & still quite green. You would think the best is yet to come!

Disappointing week for Australia at Royal Ascot, but not surprising. Australian racing is still the best in the world for sprinting but over the past 3 or 4 years I dont think the depth is as strong as previous sprinting eras in Australia. It seems only the best sprinters in Australia can win outside Australia, in previous eras we had B and C Graders winning outside Australia.

Oh well, it is what it is.

The Gp1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes has been won by Khaadem (7g Dark Angel x White Daffodil, by Footstepsinthesand) who defeated Sacred & Highfield Princess. Artorius was 4th, The Astrologist 5th & Cannonball lost his jockey at the start.

I remember big things were expected of Khadeem when he won the Goodwood Stewards Cup back in 2019 but he has mainly been disappointing since. However, he won the Gp2 King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last July. These were his damline details at the time:-

Khadeem was ridden by Jamie Spencer who rode Artorius last year.

The Gp2 Hardwicke Stakes has been won by Pyledriver (6h Harbour Watch x La Pyle, by Le Havre) defeating West Wind Blows & Changingofthrguard. However, he was very erratic in the run to the line. Stewards enquiry.

Yeah 80-1 shot (bigger odds on other betting markets) wins the G1 Jubilee Stakes (1207m WFA).

Saint Lawrence (5g Al Kazeem x Affluent, by Oasis Dream) has won the Wokingham Stakes.

Earlier at Caulfield, St Lawrence (4g Redwood x Bacio del Vinto) won Race 6.

I wonder if anyone backed both horses!

One lost the rider and the other two 4th and 5th.  So no Nature Strip dominance this year but certainly not back in the pack.  While the second horse is a daughter of Exceed and Excel.

5 Days of top notch racing , weather , gardens and flowers , roses , drink , food , what more could you ask for ? LOL what about getting rid of the archaic way they start that flag waving crap signaling the start ! Cry 2 years in a row now riderless horse charging down the straight in such a prestigious race , a lot of Money is invested by connections to take part ! not good enough British racing ! of course it doesn't bother the longer distance racing because they crawl , so getting left a length or 3 is immaterial , but 5 or 6 furlongs it's vital , his vision towards the furthest gates is skewed by the angle , take him further back , and get a experienced man behind the gates to give the " all clear " then hit the button , last years photo of Nature Strip winning was spoilt by one thing , another riderless horse ! .... of my soap box . Wink

Is this the most inexperienced Ascot Gold Cup winner in history?

Apparent overkill imo.  Support the increase in distance but wonder about some of the other pre-conditions.
