I was about to answer TJ's post with "It's times like this you need to know your breeding but most of the UK ones are totally unknown to me, unlike those in Oz"
However have seen yours horlicks "Crikey!! That bad!" Ouch

Wisdom has been chasing me but I've always outrun it!

Going ahead, they are moving the rail in some areas to avoid the worst.

I think Dream Of Dreams & Glen Shiel are the only Gp1 winners in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

Apparently, Starman is a doubtful runner.

Subjectivist - first horse to do the G2.Dubai Gold Cup (3200m WFA) and G1 Ascot Gold Cup (4014m WFA) in the same year. Good effort.
Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers

..... and they ran the quinella.

So, there were 8 Group Ones at the meeting & all the winners had previously won in Gp1 company.

The reason for my interest in this stat was that I normally keep some details of new Group One winners & at this meeting there were no new ones to add!

I know Ascot it up hills and down dales but 1m 14.87s for a soft track shows just how testing this track is.

hello,
I saw something very interesting, when I went back the ped of "Go Bears Go" (ran recently at the Ascot meeting). he traces back to "La Mer", some decades ago a top race filly in AUS/NZ,

La Mer's damline traces back to the "Try Try Again" family (Tenerani, Toulouse Lautrec, Tissot etc) developed by Mr. Tesio.

regards, Ticino

Good pick Ticino!  La Mer was a truly marvelous performer in NZ and Oz.

Closely related to Benbatl (3 G1s). They are out of half sisters. Benbatl's dam, Nahrain, was a multiple G1 winner.

Well, that was an omen tip.

The Gp2 Railway Stakes over 6 furlongs at the Curragh has just been won by Go Bears Go (2c Kodi Bear - In Dubai, by Giant's Causeway).
