Topic: ALP "Gasometer" Countdown
Posted By: oneonesit
Subject: ALP "Gasometer" Countdown
Date Posted: 01 Jul 2022 at 3:52pm
Here we go - I'm going to put myself out on a limb. By Melb Cup Day Tuesday 1st November 2022 this ALP Govt will be well & truly on the nose. Elbow & his underlings will be "duckin & weavin" - trying to put out the spot fires everywhere.

I've called it the "Elbow Gasometer" because Elbow is full of it. And the Teals were as well - until they blew up all those balloons pre-election. Being "on-the nose" is a rating of 30 or less

So our starting point is a 100 on the Elbow Gasometer on Election Night.  I will update & give a virtual Gasometer value every few weeks - or when something dramatic occurs to cause Elbow to pass more gas than he normally does.

Todays Value - 86

Absolutely - sure does Rhino !

However the TBV Gasometer Panel (TBV GP) score it at the end of each day is the figure that is used.

Before asking - the Panel consists of Hello Sunshine, Stayer, Macca (life member privilege) , Baghdad & myself

Hope that clarifies it for you

Tell Anthony  - not me - he's apparently running the show - from overseas. Whilst ever he "encourages" wage growth in-line with inflation , & oversees an economy that seems ok with price hikes everywhere - guess what - you will still get rampant inflation. Very poor messaging from Anthony early days unfortunately. Left Jim carrying the can & took off.

He seems to have a problem accepting you need a lot of hurt before things will get into balance. Easier to put your head in the sand - whist spend, spend , spend.................

That's the third time I've heard Jim say the same thing after the rate rise. "We knew it was coming - but that doesn't make it any more palatable for those doing it tough"

Tell us something we don't know Jim. What are you doing about it ? How are your policies helping ? What are you doing to change things up a bit ?

Yeah, I know the last 2 years RBA performance would indicate otherwise……..

Posted By: oneonesit
Date Posted: 05 Jul 2022 at 10:02pm
No I get that. However surely the RBA reacts to what it sees - & what it see's is obviously influenced by local & international forces / policies. I mean if you are saying we cannot influence inflation to some point  - both up & down - we may as well give up.

As for making up numbers, how much is the reinstated payment costing the federal govt? How much would it have cost had Albo just said we will extend it? The states who are all boasting improved budget positions during the pandemic jumped in and it is being split 50/50.

Had Albo just said yeah, put it on the credit card like the other mob did with everything, the same issue would be faced with the fuel excise subsidy removal. Instead now the federal govt has a bargaining position with the states on that.

* Cocked up on Uluru big time
* Allowing alcohol back into grog free communities
* Stopping cashless dole cards in areas that benefitted from having it
* Gone on holidays before he had accrued enough holiday leave as PM
* Solomons still a mess even after splashing millions in their general direction
* Admission coal/gas exports would continue to increase well into the future
* Meanwhile, we crucify our own economy TRYING to meet some random emission targets that all agree will have bugger all impact on the Global Climate
* Giving a green light back to his mates in the CMFEU
* Making sure Tanya just plays on the edges
* Seeming to want to get involved in all the side line issues that no one could give a toss about. Cost of living Anthony - what you doing about it ?
