Can’t wait for the limp wrested wimp set up a royal commission into all the rorts, the current crims have been up to.

Maybe we should have a comp to see who can guess correctly how many years Angus will be sentenced.Wink

anything is better than three more years of what we just experienced.

Just hope Dutton is not the replacement opp leader.

Fun fact: Jen again wore her Carla Zampatti celebration dress on stage last night.

Carla Zampatti was the mother of Allegra Spender the teal Independent who rolled Dave Sharma in Wentworth.

Subliminal ''get me out of here'' plea from Jen?

I must have missed it. Quite possible as i took very little interest in the Election build up. So did Albo actually even discuss green-lighting the Uluru Statement in the campaign ? I mean it seemed to be front & centre of his acceptance speech - alongside his single mother & housing commission upbringing. Anyhow good news travels quick in remote Qld , NT - they will all be madly celebrating within a week or so. So pleased for them all - esp all the elitist indigenous groups.

Now we just have to wait & see when they recognise that financial black hole the LNP left them with & how they can reward Grace for all her successfully executed white anting........

And can we all chip in a few bob for Baghdad pls

I don't think "prominent" would be a fair description

Going to be hard to get the numbers with a referendum - I mean the ALP only got 32% of the vote - & two thirds of that came from people threatened with a fine if they didn't turn up.

And dont forget a chunk of the Independent primary vote came from Labor sacrificing votes in most teal seats to help get them over the line.

Funny how the ALP was delirious with "victory" last night'. Bit like Baghdad's Melbourne Cup example - outlay $24 backing the field -  back the winner - & get back $14.

Anyhow PT - congrats - you deserve it

 very true.

He might rattle on about his upbringing, to the aggravation of the 'I already own a house mob', but there are a lot of young people despairing of ever affording even a shack.

Housing affordability is the number one priority, in many eyes.

If it means the government need to fast-forward more public housing, then bloody do it...otherwise the homeless will grow in numbers.

You can't have a life without first having a home.

They promised lower family taxation for working Australian families. And wage increases to at least match inflation. And cheaper power bills. And to fix the NBN. And to provide better Aged Care - patients & workers. And make housing more affordable. And provide 30,000 more social housing per year. And improve Job Security. And give more money to the ABC. Improve the NDIS, And more funding to Close the Gap, And Help Older Australians, And reduce emissions. And increase funding to TAFE, Universities & Public Schooling, And increase the pay of educators, And give additional support to Small Business, And improve our National Security, And cheaper childcare, And support the rebuilding of local manufacturing, And better support Regional Australia, And have about 50 enquiries, And relocate low lying areas of the country, And improve support to Veterans, And.................................

That shouldn't overly tax the economy too much LOL

Its a touch ironic that the ALP's Shadow Minister for the Environment didn't win her seat.  Hardly a massive endorsement for Elbows Environmental  blue print.

Sorry 1-1 Chris Bowen is male and did not lose his seat
Terri Butler - Member for Griffith - Shadow Minister for the Environment & Water

but she lost it to a Greenie...

 what's the diff?

It's not as if the climate deniers won it...

 Wacko

I’m in Griffith and wasn’t that surprised she lost. There has been a LOT of advertising and work put in by the Greens. The guy had his name plastered everywhere. Seemed like there was a “vote 1” board in just about every street.

Greens and Labor agreed to preference the other first then Independents next, putting their own differences aside to get rid of the LNP. This turned a lot of races into 3 corner contests many putting Labor against Green. It worked bigly but exposed several Labor members to be beaten by a Green. Here in Richmond our Labor member of 15 years was expected to win easily but this arrangement has put her neck and neck with the Green. Ironically though the Nat here placed Labor above Green which will likely save her. Antony Green suspended several calls last night because of the confusion caused by this. 2 more seats are still facing the same situation.

Since 1983 there has been 15 federal elections and the Albanese ALP government has created the record for the winning party to have the lowest primary vote (32.8%) over those 39 years. Hardly an endorsement from the electorate, when compared to Hawke who got 49.5% when he beat Fraser in 1983 or Howard's 46.7% when he beat Latham in 2004.
With around 66% of the electorate's primary vote favouring other parties, I expect the road ahead for Elbow to be a little bumpy.

What percentage was the Liberal vote on Saturday Bobby? Just Liberal, not including their right wing rump.

Congratulations to our new PM. He might not be a Bob Hawke, but....thank god he isn't...

 I detested Hawke...
