Nobility.
Arts.
Inventions.
Values.

Next time you put on the Air Conditioner, think of the Kingdom.
The first fully air conditioned building in the world is the Hungarian Parliament Building.
Air Conditioning was invented by my relative.
Dont bother searching the net, you will be told a bunch of lies, even over that.
I have proof.

If you want to judge Hungary for just one thing, just it by this,,
Admiral Miklos Horthy bombed a warship in World War 2, and he ORDERED his men to go save the drowning enemy.
They saved hundreds of lives.
They just wanted to stop the damn ship, didnt even want to kill people.

And Miklos Horthy was the ONLY world leader that REFUSED to salute scumbag Hitler.
Churchill saluted Hitler.
They all did.
Not Admiral Horthy.

England had to choose scumbag Stalin.
Hungary was stuck with scumbag Hitler.
Both nations were stuck with scumbags.

The truth is, both England and Hungary didnt want a bloody war.

The Queen is Hungarian.

You ask why does Royalty even have a purpose?

NOBLE Kings and Queens, have vast amounts of wealth, so they CANNOT be corrupted.
That is the whole point of it.

"Hey Queenie, can I build a casino on the banks of your river, here is $10 million"??

Noble Queen,  "Get stuffed, the casino would be bad for my people and I don''t need your money"

Understand??

Species of the world have Royalty too.

The truth is, the world desperately needs noble Kings and Queens.

Not a bloody Chinese Emperor that thinks his own citizens are so pathetic they get a social credit score for crossing a road properly, or lose a point for feeding their cat too much food.
Thats not strength
Its weak and utterly pathetic.
You have no right to lead your citizens if you dont trust them.

Of course all the Hungarian Royalty inbred, PT, otherwise the blood would be weak and diluted with common blood.  Thats why they all have 2 heads, and the shame of it is that when they cut one head off, its always the wrong one. LOL

Although Willis Carrier is largely credited with inventing the modern air conditioner, Frederick Jones, an African-American, invented the first portable air conditioning unit.

May I say maybe the weirdest thread ever.  Sure it's the Queen's birthday in England (might be over now) yesterday but what idea in the world do you have to even ask the question.

Royalty is probably just being born into the ruling house.  But she has taken things with her late husband to a new level of diligence and caring for the people of Britain.  Sure she has lived through some pretty horrid times also but I think she was never one to shirk her duty to her country.  Even when she probably wanted to scream at the stupidity of some decisions made around her.

So now alone for the first time in a long while and in her nineties but still committed to her job you ask this question.  Seems a waste of time to judge her.  I know by the time I hit my seventies I won't be working full time.  If I make the eighties I dare say full retirement.  Ninties I know there is no way I could think of the committment and grace needed to do any job.

But no she took and oath and she meant it.  I judge that as her sign of royalty.

Furious...that is probably the best write-up for Her Maj that I've seen.

I admire her diligence to duty...but no-one in this damned world is really 'royal' unless the people so decree.

it all began with some upstart who proclaimed "I am king...and all you dumb-asses will obey me..."...and the dumb-asses did.

Jujuno , I’ve had many a conversation with fellow historians about the concept of “ Royalty” and why it’s still alive and well in our modern times. I’m a firm believer that while times , morality , society and beliefs change continually throughout history the one thing that never changes is basic human nature . I think it’s part of our human DNA to be always looking for a leader, someone better and smarter than us to lead as and make things better. Historians talk about the “ great man” concept or the “ super person” concept. I think Trump was a classic example of a “ super person” who had extraordinary support and loyalty that went against all logic and reality. We humans are an odd lot! Royalty is simply the oldest of the super person complex and doesn’t look like it’s going to lose its hold on us any time soon.

"someone better and smarter than us"

well...that certainly isn't any of the royal family in England...LOL

it's an interesting subject. Super-heroes, I can understand. Respect for high achievers, I can understand.

Bowing and kow-towing to a person, just because someone proclaimed them to be 'special' by birth, is an action I find ridiculous.

To a degree, I respect what the Queen has done with her life...but I would never bow to her. She's had the best of medical care, three solid meals delivered to her every day and plenty of walking and riding space in this time of covid restrictions. The most difficult part of her life has been dealing with her embarrassing family and a possible spasm of the hand from greeting dignitaries and waving at the masses.

I agree that we humans look for leadership, great men/women and super people...I just don't think they exist in royal circles...

How is people idolizing royalty any different to idolizing celebrities or sporting ''heroes''?

It is just a ''need'' that a chunk of the population have and have always had.

Firstly nice try with the air conditioning. You are WAYYYY off.
I will send the details soon.

The English Royals, DO idolize celebrities.
That is why only people like Oprah and Elton John turn up to their "Royal" events.
The real European Royals refuse to go to ANY English Royal Event.

Here is Admiral Horthy arriving in Berlin.
Note, the great Admiral absolutely REFUSES to do the heil Nazi salute.
Never did once.
Yet even the English Royals did, as too every world leader. including Churchill.

Thats what the great Admiral Horthy really thought of Hitler and Hitler gave him a bunch of dirty looks for it too.
Here is one example many

I cant see how you distinguish between British Royals and European Royals.  They are all related thru blood or marriage.  Just about the lot of them descend down via Queen Victoria,s children.   Which means most of the European Royals have British Royal blood, which came from Europe earlier on.
Prince Phillip had Greek Royal Blood, which came from Victoria, so what was he ??? Confused  And now his children have European Royal blood.
Very confusing. LOL

I'm related to a nobleman from Cork, Ireland. His daughter married a survivor from the Spanish Armada and somewhere down the line, I'm one of the result. The Black Irish pops up in the family every so often. My second eldest brother looked like Zorro.

An apostrophe is one type of punctuation mark and has three uses

 1) to form possessive nouns;
2) to show the omission of letters;
 3) to indicate plurals of letters, numbers, and symbols.

Hope that helps out those who do not know when it is used.

The British actor Benedict Cumberpatch is directly descended from the Plantagenet kings and is very proud of it . He’s always defending Richard lll , the last of the line. Lord knows why.Richard lll was definitely involved in the assassination of his brother, usurped the throne from his nephews who he probably also murdered, definitely imprisoned his sister in law and nieces before going on to have a highly inappropriate relationship with his eldest niece. You’d think you wouldn’t want to admit you were related to him! My ancestor was sentenced to transportation for life for stealing 7 sheep and I know I’d prefer him! But Richard lll is royalty and therefore a super person so we even forgive his crimes. We humans are very odd!

Also "his a good man..." instead of "he's a good man..."

If you correct them, you're a Nazi, if you don't, it multiplies...

I enjoyed watching Cumberbatch's parents for many years, in various comedies and tv films. His father decided not to use the Cumberbatch name as his screen name, as it was too readily identified with his famous ancestors...
