People in Baghdad are said to have danced on the streets in celebration after the killing of Iran’s top security and intelligence commander. General Qassem Suleimani died in the early hours of Friday in an air strike ordered by President Donald Trump. Iran doesn't operate that way Bob. They aren't stupid enough to engage in a hot war in the ME with the US. Their proxies throughout the region will start putting in train actions to revenge this guy. Americans and American interests throughout the ME from Syria to Afghanistan and in Nth Africa cannot sleep comfortably for years. The threat from Revolutionary Guard, Quds officials overnight that US blood will run in the streets of the ME does not mean an attack is imminent. We aren't safe here being allied to Trump and having troops in the ME. We will be following dutifully behind the Orange Menace. The biggest difference between us and them though is when the US inevitably gets driven out of the ME, they are totally self sufficient for energy. May not have much Alaskan wilderness or National Forest left, but they have plenty of gas and oil. We dont. We have a few weeks supply and no refining capacity. We need the ME, unless of course we burn down all our forests and start fracking the hell out of them. Lol I just saw the news of Trump playing the right move (again) and was going to post the same thing.
