1) Joe Biden

Website:  https://joebiden.com/" rel="nofollow - JoeBiden.com
The former vice president offers America a seductive promise  a reboot from the Trump catastrophe and a return to the Obama era. And rather than risk falling in love with a progressive New Hope, many rank-and-file Democrats, particularly  https://morningconsult.com/2019/05/06/biden-continues-post-launch-surge-grows-lead-among-likely-democratic-voters/" rel="nofollow - older voters  and voters of color, seem happy to fall in line behind Biden, 76. At his  http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1905/18/cnr.05.html" rel="nofollow - Philadelphia kickoff rally  in May, Biden touted his record as a Mr. Fixit: “I know how to make government work.” But his campaign needs some maintenance. He raised $15 million in the third quarter, a steep falloff from his first haul of $21.5 million, and entered the fourth quarter with  https://twitter.com/ShaneGoldmacher/status/1184312266897772544" rel="nofollow - less than $9 million  cash on hand. An outside  https://unitethecountry.com/" rel="nofollow - SuperPAC  launched in October to help keep Biden financially competitive.
Signature Policy: Biden has peerless foreign policy credentials and isn’t afraid to tout them: “I’m the most qualified person in the country to be president,” he’s said. “I know as much about American foreign policy [as] anyone around, including even maybe Kissinger.” (Read more about  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-lists/2020-democratic-candidates-issues-policy-positions-820811/joe-biden-vice-president-826219/" rel="nofollow - Biden’s platform .)
Signature Apology: “I’m sorry I didn’t understand more,” Biden told reporters after being rebuked by multiple women for his space-invader style of politics. “I’m not sorry for any of my intentions.  https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/437582-biden-im-not-sorry-for-anything-that-i-have-ever-done" rel="nofollow - I’m not sorry for anything that I have ever done.  I have never been disrespectful intentionally to a man or a woman. So that’s not the reputation I’ve had since I was in high school, for God’s sakes.”

2) Elizabeth Warren

Website:  https://elizabethwarren.com/" rel="nofollow - ElizabethWarren.com
The Massachusetts senator continues to outpace her competitors on policy, most recently with a  https://medium.com/@teamwarren/ending-the-stranglehold-of-health-care-costs-on-american-families-bf8286b13086" rel="nofollow - detailed plan  to implement Medicare for All without raising income or payroll taxes. Warren is targeting Democrats who seek progressive purity from their 2020 champion, including in fundraising. Eschewing fundraisers with big contributors seeking political favors, Warren raised close to $25 million in the third quarter. But unlike Sanders, who embraces the mantle of democratic socialism, the 70-year-old Warren is a capitalist at heart, having spent a career trying to make the system work for working people.
Signature Policy: Warren wants to address American inequality with a wealth tax, imposed annually on “ultra-millionaires,” to pay for benefits, including universal  https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-02-19/warren-to-unveil-universal-child-care-plan-funded-by-wealth-tax" rel="nofollow - .” Fortunes greater than $50 million would be taxed at 2 percent. Billionaires would pay 3 percent. The proposal  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/tax-the-rich-786673/" rel="nofollow - (Read more about  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-lists/2020-democratic-candidates-issues-policy-positions-820811/elizabeth-warren-826204/" rel="nofollow - Warren’s platform .)
Signature Apology: Warren has apologized for conflating “family stories” about Cherokee heritage with native identity. At the Native American Presidential Forum in August, Warren underscored her regret. “Like anyone who’s being honest with themselves, I know that I have made mistakes,” she said. “I am sorry for the harm I have caused.”

3) Bernie Sanders

Website:  https://berniesanders.com/" rel="nofollow - BernieSanders.com
Despite a recent heart attack, the 78-year-old Sanders is on a roll — with a pair of strong debate performances and the endorsement of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in front of a crowd of 25,000 in Queens. Sanders is riding a potent combination of people-power and cash. The campaign’s  https://theintercept.com/2019/04/29/bern-bernie-sanders-organizing-kickoff-bern-app/" rel="nofollow - focus on grassroots organizing  is peerless in the 2020 field. And Sanders raised more than $25 million in the third quarter, recently passing the mark of 4 million donations, a record for this stage in a campaign. Sanders does not have the left lane to himself as he did in 2016 — many candidates have  https://twitter.com/KamalaHarris/status/1074790843737927682" rel="nofollow - embraced his once-distinctive proposals . But he is seen as an uncompromising champion of Medicare for All, and he has one-upped Warren’s income-based college debt relief by calling for a  https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2019/06/24/bernie-sanders-student-debt-plan-sot-ip-vpx.cnn" rel="nofollow - complete wipeout  of the nation’s $1.6 trillion in student debt.
Signature Policy: Sanders’ 2016 campaign set the table for 2020. He gets full credit for mainstreaming a $15 minimum wage and  https://www.sanders.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/college-for-all-act-introduced" rel="nofollow - . Sanders recently introduced the “ https://www.sanders.senate.gov/download/estate-tax-one-pager" rel="nofollow - ” that would sharply increase the estate tax, including imposing a 77 percent tax on estates in excess of $1 billion, raising an estimated  https://www.washingtonpost.com/us-policy/2019/01/31/bernie-sanders-propose-dramatic-expansion-estate-tax-richest-americans-including-percent-rate-billionaires/" rel="nofollow -  over a decade. Signature Apology: Sanders apologized to former female staffers for a 2016 campaign marred by pay disparities and allegations of  https://www.politico.com/story/2019/01/09/bernie-sanders-2016-robert-becker-women-inappropriate-behavior-1093836" rel="nofollow -  by male staffers, promising to “ https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/bernie-sanders-camp-says-it-working-address-concerns-after-staffers-n953331" rel="nofollow - ” moving forward.

4) Pete Buttigieg

Website:  https://www.peteforamerica.com/" rel="nofollow - If you were to just look at Iowa and New Hampshire polling, you’d swear Pete Buttigieg was the 2020 frontrunner. But Buttigieg continues to be held back by what we’ll politely call a lack of resonance with voters of color — suggesting he could hit a wall in racially-diverse early-voting states like Nevada and particularly South Carolina, where he is polling at  https://poll.qu.edu/south-carolina/release-detail?ReleaseID=3649" rel="nofollow - less than 1 percent among black voters . The 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has surged while making a play for the party’s moderate wing, with policies like Medicare for All (Who Want It) and free public college (for families earning less than $100,000). Plainspoken and steeped in the values of the Christian left, Buttigieg has wowed pundits, and his is fundraising is prodigious: Buttigieg raised more than $19 million in the third quarter.
Signature Policy:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6U95cdoT_o" rel="nofollow - http://savefrom.net/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DW6U95cdoT_o&utm_source=userjs-chrome&utm_medium=extensions&utm_campaign=link_modifier" rel="nofollow -  (Read more about  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-lists/2020-democratic-candidates-issues-policy-positions-820811/pete-buttigieg-820812/" rel="nofollow - Buttigieg’s platform .)
Signature Apology: After news reports revealed that Buttigieg declared “all lives matter” in 2015, Mayor Pete distanced himself from the comment, insisting he “did not understand” at the time that the slogan was “being used to devalue what the Black Lives Matter movement was telling us.”

5) Kamala Harris

Website:  https://kamalaharris.org/" rel="nofollow - KamalaHarris.org
Harris showed  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/kamala-harris-demolish-joe-biden-race-during-democratic-debate-853334/" rel="nofollow - fearlessness and precision  in attacking Biden in a June Democratic debate. But her subsequent debates have been lackluster, and Harris has been sliding in the polls. She recently laid off campaign staff in New Hampshire, seeking to go all in on Iowa, where she is also struggling. The Californian stands astride the tectonic plates of the Democratic Party — an establishment politician who has adopted a platform responsive to the passion of grassroots, including a  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/green-new-deal-explained-775827/" rel="nofollow -
Signature Policy: Harris has promised executive action to punish pay disparities. She would require companies to receive an “ https://kamalaharris.org/equalpay/" rel="nofollow - Equal Pay Certification ” and fine one percent of corporate profits for every percent of wage gap that persists between male and female employees. (Read more about  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-lists/2020-democratic-candidates-issues-policy-positions-820811/kamala-harris-826215/" rel="nofollow - Harris’ platform .)
Signature Apology: Harris has  https://www.vox.com/2019/1/21/18191864/kamala-harris-2020-criminal-justice" rel="nofollow - RS Coverage:  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/kamala-harris-2020-election-interview-861340/" rel="nofollow - 6) Andrew Yang

Website:  https://www.yang2020.com/" rel="nofollow - The most unlikely grassroots sensation of 2020, Yang is a businessman who founded  https://ventureforamerica.org/" rel="nofollow - , working to revitalize struggling urban centers by training and fostering entrepreneurs in cities like Detroit and New Orleans. Sure, he’s campaigning by gimmick — most recently creating a sweepstakes for backers to receive $1,000 a month, in a test run of his signature policy — but Yang has cultivated a following and is polling above many “serious” contenders. He’s also raising serious cash:  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/andrew-yang-10-million-presidential-campaign-fundraising-893694/" rel="nofollow - $10 million in the latest quarter .
Signature Policy: The 44-year-old is running on a platform of  https://www.yang2020.com/what-is-ubi/" rel="nofollow - , to counteract the worst effects of automation in the workforce. Yang spoke at length to Rolling Stone about his “ https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/andrew-yang-2020-president-780803/" rel="nofollow - Freedom Dividend ,” insisting: “You want to universalize it so it’s seen as a true right of citizenship.” (Read more about  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-lists/2020-democratic-candidates-issues-policy-positions-820811/andrew-yang-826216/" rel="nofollow - Yang’s platform .)

7) Amy Klobuchar

Website:  https://amy-klobuchar.com/" rel="nofollow - Amy-Klobuchar.com
The Minnesota senator’s understated persona stands in contrast to Trump’s bluster and bravado, winning her plaudits from conservatives including Washington Post columnist  https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/amy-klobuchar-is-best-equipped-to-send-the-president-packing/2019/01/30/0f85122c-240a-11e9-81fd-b7b05d5bed90_story.html?utm_term=.ab854b793c6b" rel="nofollow -  and  https://www.politico.com/story/2019/02/11/klobuchar-president-republicans-1159345" rel="nofollow -  Lindsey Graham and Susan Collins. In theory, Klobuchar should benefit from a near-home-field advantage in neighboring Iowa, which holds the first-in-the-nation caucus. The  https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/politics/iowa-poll/2019/11/17/pete-buttigieg-leads-new-iowa-poll-warren-sanders-biden-follow/4198100002/" rel="nofollow - latest poll  has her at 6 percent support.
Signature Policy: Known for a focus on reform of revolution, Klobuchar has emphasized her record of enacting practical laws that have reduced the backlog of rape kits and banned lead in toys. If Biden continues to decline, Klobuchar seems likely to corral some of his moderate-minded voters. (Read more about  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-lists/2020-democratic-candidates-issues-policy-positions-820811/amy-klobuchar-826220/" rel="nofollow - Klobuchar’s platform .)
Signature Apology: Klobuchar has been dogged by reports she abused and demeaned staff, including throwing a binder that “ https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/mollyhensleyclancy/amy-klobuchar-staff-2020-election" rel="nofollow - RS Coverage:  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/amy-klobuchar-al-franken-brett-kavanaugh-802035/" rel="nofollow - Amy Klobuchar on Al Franken, Brett Kavanaugh, and the Road Ahead

8) Cory Booker

Website:  https://corybooker.com/" rel="nofollow - The former mayor of Newark, New Jersey, Booker is running on a values-heavy message of love, unity, and “a revival of civic grace.” The 50-year-old had an excellent debate in Detroit, besting Biden in an exchange over mass incarceration and the 1994 crime bill Biden championed. Booker has one of the most liberal voting records in the Senate, and he’s changed the conversation around federal cannabis legalization with his proposed  https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/597/all-info" rel="nofollow - Marijuana Justice Act . “I get angry when I see people taking just one step — legalizing marijuana — without doing anything to address past harms,” he told Rolling Stone in a  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/2020-cory-booker-legal-weed-pot-cannabis-why-826232/" rel="nofollow - recent interview . But his outward liberalism has been undercut at times by connections to Wall Street and Big Pharma. He’s raising enough money to stay in the hunt, including $6 million in the third quarter.
Signature Policy: Baby bonds. Booker would target the wealth gap in America by seeding “ https://www.booker.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=861" rel="nofollow - (Read more about  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-lists/2020-democratic-candidates-issues-policy-positions-820811/cory-booker-826210/" rel="nofollow - Booker’s platform .)
Signature Apology: Booker has disavowed the tough-on-crime approach he championed in his early days as Newark mayor. In his book  https://www.amazon.com/United-Thoughts-Finding-Common-Advancing/dp/1101965185" rel="nofollow - - United
, Booker credits his then-chief of staff for delivering a wake-up call on racial disparities in policing: “He told me that if I had so quickly forgotten my own life experiences, I had my head up my large black posterior region.”

9) Tulsi Gabbard

Website:  https://www.tulsi2020.com/" rel="nofollow - Gabbard, 38, is the first Hindu to serve in the House of Representatives. She’s pitching herself to progressives (including with a bill to  https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/marijuana-bill-tulsi-gabbard-don-young-weed-decriminalization-804633/" rel="nofollow - legalize marijuana ) and to pacifists: The Iraq veteran is running against endless wars. Gabbard has shown poise on the debate stage and gained an enthusiastic grassroots following. But there’s something off. Her campaign continues to get an odd  https://www.rt.com/usa/465579-kamala-harris-destroyed-tulsi/" rel="nofollow - signal boost  from  https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/russia-s-propaganda-machine-discovers-2020-democratic-candidate-tulsi-gabbard-n964261" rel="nofollow - Russian propaganda networks  and the Putin  https://twitter.com/EmbassyofRussia/status/1158368865153376257?s=20" rel="nofollow - government itself.  In October, Hillary Clinton accused her of being a Russian “asset.” Gabbard denounced Clinton as “queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party.” The free publicity has led to a small surge in the polls that qualified Gabbard for the November debate.
Signature Policy: Gabbard has staked her campaign in opposition to wars of regime change. But her foreign policy credentials are unsettling: She visited Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad in 2017 on a  https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/26/tulsi-gabbard-bashar-al-assad-syria-democrats" rel="nofollow - secret “fact-finding” mission  and dismissed his opposition — across the board — as  http://www.staradvertiser.com/2017/01/26/editorial/island-voices/u-s-must-stop-helping-terrorists-fighting-syrias-government/" rel="nofollow - terrorists . Signature Apology: Into adulthood, Gabbard espoused virulently anti-LGBTQ views. She released an  https://twitter.com/TulsiGabbard/status/1085959308112809986" rel="nofollow -  saying, “In my past, I said and believed things that were wrong.”

10) Tom Steyer

Website:  https://www.tomsteyer.com/" rel="nofollow - - com
The progressive billionaire best known for leading an impeachment crusade against President Trump threw his hat into the crowded 2020 ring on July 9th, promising to betray his class and wrest political power from America’s moneyed interests. Steyer has no shortage of cash to help overcome his late start, spending  https://twitter.com/ShaneGoldmacher/status/1184470501072220160" rel="nofollow - nearly $48 million  on his national introduction.
Signature Policy: Steyer’s  https://www.needtoimpeach.com/" rel="nofollow - Need to Impeach  campaign has signed up more than 8 million Americans seeking Trump’s constitutional removal. (This list could provide Steyer with a formidable grassroots base.) “It’s important to stand up for the American democracy,” Steyer told Rolling Stone about the fight for impeachment. “We believe fighting against a reckless and lawless president is not something that will turn off voters.”

11) Julián Castro

Website:  https://www.julianforthefuture.com/" rel="nofollow - Castro’s stage presence and command of the issues across four debates underscored why Hillary nearly picked him as her 2016 running mate. But after failing to qualify for the fifth debate, the field’s only Latino contender, 44, is struggling to remain viable. He is going all in on Nevada, while denouncing the structural racism of a nomination process that gives so much power to Iowa and New Hampshire. His “People First” policy agenda earned high marks for offering a sweeping immigration plan that would provide a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants; an education overhaul that would reinvest in public education from pre-K through college; and a $5 billion plan to “eliminate lead poisoning as a major public health threat.”
Signature Policy: Pre-K for USA, nationwide universal prekindergarten programs, are the centerpiece of his People First education plan. “Investing in early childhood education isn’t just the right thing to do on behalf of our children,” Castro says. “It’s an investment that we can’t afford not to make.” (Read more about  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-lists/2020-democratic-candidates-issues-policy-positions-820811/julian-castro-826233/" rel="nofollow - Castro’s platform .)
Signature Apology: In 2016, Castro apologized for dissing Trump and talking up Clinton while on the job as HUD secretary,  https://osc.gov/Resources/HA-16-3113%20%28Julian%20Castro%29%20FINAL.pdf" rel="nofollow - RS Coverage:  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/julian-castro-iowa-caucus-new-hampshire-primary-913971/" rel="nofollow - Julián Castro: If Democrats Don’t Elevate Voters of Color, ‘Why the Hell Are We Democrats in the First Place?’

12) Michael Bloomberg

Website:  https://www.mikebloomberg.com/" rel="nofollow - MikeBloomberg.com
The 77-year-old former mayor of New York surveyed the 2020 Democratic field and decided he’s just what’s missing. Bloomberg launched his campaign in late November, shocking and awing America with a national ad campaign costing more than $30 million, and plugging himself as a “Jobs Creator. Leader. Problem Solver.”  https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/election-day-an-acrimonious-race-reaches-its-end-point/2016/11/08/32b96c72-a557-11e6-ba59-a7d93165c6d4_story.html" rel="nofollow - Stranger things have happened , but it’s hard to imagine a centrist former Republican who backed George W. Bush in 2004, embraced racist police tactics as mayor, and remains skeptical of progressive economic policy winning the nomination of today’s left-leaning Democratic Party.
Signature Policy: Bloomberg is fully in step with today’s Democrats on gun regulation. He has used some of his massive fortune to fund groups including “Everytown for Gun Safety,” which advocates for sensible gun regulations in a country that desperately needs them.
Signature Apology: When he decided not to run in the spring, Bloomberg mocked Joe Biden for launching with an “apology tour.” Bloomberg has now embarked on one of his own. A staffer apologized for sexist and demeaning jokes published in a 1990 pamphlet, Portable Bloomberg: The Wit and Wisdom of Michael Bloomberg, saying, “Mike has come to see that some of what he has said is disrespectful and wrong.” And Bloomberg recently visited a black church to apologize for his embrace of stop-and-frisk policing: “I can’t change history, however today I want you to know that I realize back then I was wrong and I’m sorry.”

13) Steve Bullock

Website:  https://stevebullock.com/" rel="nofollow - SteveBullock.com
The Montana governor with a Deadwood-worthy name is a 2020 dark horse. He  https://twitter.com/GovernorBullock/status/1128238526330359808" rel="nofollow - entered the race in May  and made a folksy introduction from the Detroit debates. Even in a crowded field, Bullock’s experience stands out. He won statewide office in a state Trump carried by 20 points — and then got a GOP-majority legislature to agree to expand Medicaid. He raised $2.3 million in the third quarter.
Signature Policy: The 53-year-old has  https://twitter.com/GovernorBullock/status/1087472843426648064" rel="nofollow -  (Read more about  https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-lists/2020-democratic-candidates-issues-policy-positions-820811/steve-bullock-846016/" rel="nofollow - Bullock’s platform .)
Signature Apology: A former Bullock aide, fired for sexual harassment, went on to  https://nypost.com/2019/01/30/de-blasio-slams-montana-governor-for-not-telling-him-about-fired-aides-past/" rel="nofollow -  in the office of the mayor of New York City. “I should have done more to ensure future employers would learn of his behavior,” Bullock  https://medium.com/@stevebullock/im-committed-to-doing-better-bb556ba7f41a" rel="nofollow -  in February. “These realizations come too late for the two women in New York City. 14) Michael Bennet

Websitehttps://michaelbennet.com/" rel="nofollow - MichaelBennet.com
The 54-year-old senator is campaigning for a return to integrity in government and a revival of American economic mobility. Bennet positions himself as “pragmatic idealist” and has been calling for Democrats to temper ideas like packing the Supreme Court. He has been  https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/michael-bennet-could-be-the-answer-to-the-question-every-democrat-is-asking/2019/02/11/4e90832a-2e2d-11e9-86ab-5d02109aeb01_story.html" rel="nofollow - Signature Policy:  https://www.vox.com/health-care/2017/10/20/16504800/medicare-x-single-payer" rel="nofollow - Medicare X . 15) Deval Patrick

Websitehttp://devalpatrick2020.com/" rel="nofollow - Devalpatrick2020.com
Deval Patrick, a former two-term governor and Bain Capital partner, declared his candidacy in mid-November. The 63 year old is a friend of former President Obama and seems to be casting himself as the keeper of the Yes-We-Can flame. Patrick has an appealing life story, rising from a tenement on Chicago’s South Side to become Massachusetts’ chief executive, and he may find fans in neighboring New Hampshire. But his late-entry remains puzzling. In polls, nearly three quarters of Democratic voters said they liked their choices, and Patrick already missed the deadlines to appear on the ballot in Arkansas and Alabama, squandering a shot at those delegates.

Kamala Harris seems to be in a bit of bother. She will still be on many candidates ticket as VP pick or AG.

Kamala Harris Aide Resigns With Scathing Letter: Staff Treated “Poorly,” No “Real Plan to Win”

The unhappiness within Harris’ team was evident in the resignation letter of Kelly Mehlenbacher, the campaign’s state operations director, in November. “This is my third presidential campaign and I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly,” Mehlenbacher wrote, criticizing the leaders of the campaign for laying off staffers without notice. She went on to say that “with less than 90 days until Iowa we still do not have a real plan to win.” Even though Mehlenbacher emphasized that she still thinks “Harris is the strongest candidate” for the general election, “I no longer have confidence in our campaign or its leadership.”

PT once I got down to Pete Buttigieg , number four on your never ending list of potential dud nominees I gave up. Not because I was already exhausted in reading their profiles but because my wife talked me into backing him to be the next nominee. We have had a lazy $1000 to $125@$8,00, now I see he is down to $ 4.50 in some places. I do not believe he has any hope of beating Trump, but we are only backing him to get the nomination. When it comes to betting I never let my political leaning influence my betting, if you gave me 10/1 the ALP/ Greens Coalition winning the next election I might even be tempted to have some of that.

It's an uninspiring lot. Warren's got zero chance of getting her signature policy up and that's why she can't win. Bloomberg is superior to Trump in every measurable way but he's too old and hasn't got bogan appeal.

PT as a punter I only want to get overs, and I presume I have got them on this bet, if he firms further in the betting I could lay him on Betfair and guarantee a profit, but we have only $125 at risk so I think we will let it run.
In a previous life punting I care not who rode or trained a horse on which I bet as long as I got overs.
6/4 heads in a coin toss I found profitable over the years.

May be uninspiring lot but this election will be a horse race o who can beat Trump. Currently on Realclear Politics National average of all National polls they have:

Biden +10
Sanders +8.5
Warren + 7.3
Buttegieg +4

While there are so many positive choices they can take their time.

Warren has already shown she is willing to change her stance on healthcare Buttegieg is engaging with the black community and getting positive reviews etc. Harris is struggling because of where she is situated on the spectrum and needs to commit to a line pretty soon or risk losing donors.

Plenty of time yet First Caucus isn't till February.

Bob, Castro missed the November debate a couple of weeks ago and wont make the qualifying requirement for the December debate. He is likely to hang in there though being the only Latino in the race and with Latino's being the biggest voting block after whites in 2020 makes an ideal VP partner for someone.

(CNSNews.com) -- Apparently because Hillary Clinton suggested today that she is being groomed by the Russians to mount a third party run, presidential contender Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) tweeted a sarcastic "thank you" to the former first lady and described her as the "queen of warmongers" and the "personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long."

In a podcast interview earlier today, Clinton said, "I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve [Russia] got their eye on somebody who’s currently in the Democratic primary and they’re grooming her to be the third-party candidate. She’s the favorite of the Russians. They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far and that’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up because she’s also a Russian asset.”

Biden needs to wind back the clock 10+ years. The guy is incoherent at times. Imagine what he would be like were he to win the presidency and be campaigning for re-election in 4 years time. They have a real problem if he wins the nomination here IMO.

As opposed the totally coherent Trump?

With Biden it will be about who the VP candidate is. Biden will only be to beat Trump and pass the baton. Harris will be a likely VP, black/white male/female older/younger.

Despite his shortcomings Biden still has easily the highest standing with African Americans with over 70% approval. Without black vote you cant win.

She is a Libertarian, like Bernie on the left or Rand Paul on the right.

Trump can at least articulate what he’s trying to say. He might be full of gelati and a total scumbag amongst a variety of other issues but I’m yet to hear him go off on any tangents as totally unrelated to the topic as what Biden regularly veers I to. Biden gets asked a question and can’t answer it. It’s obvious he has Alzheimer’s and that’s only going to get worse at his age.

That may well be true but this is a year when the whole thing on both sides is dominated by Septuagenarians, Trump, Biden, Sanders, Warren, Bloomberg.

People dont seem to be too concerned about age, health or how far off any of them are to dementia. This election will just be a referendum on Trump, and sort out the rest after he is gone.

Age is only an issue if you have begun to develop common ailments typically affecting older people. And I’d be saying they same thing re: Biden if he was in his 50s and afflicted with what he obviously has. All of those other old candidates you mention do not have the same issues that Biden has. They can all articulate their views and answer questions.

I am not arguing the fact that Biden is slipping, that is obvious. I just dont think it will be an issue this election. Last time Trump and Hillary exchanged barbs around health and competency. I just dont think this time with Bernie's heart attack, Trump's mysterious hospital visit and missing golf for 3 weeks that it will be front and center as an attack issue from Trump.

May not be an issue, who knows. Given this probably appears to be a for Trump or Against Trump election then you’re probably right. Personally I would be thinking further ahead though. If I was voting I would be looking for someone more coherent.

It is still way too soon to pick a candidate, but it is becoming increasingly more clear that it is difficult for Bernie or Warren. Their left lane combined poll scores are consistently around 32% while the combined moderate to centre lane led by Biden Buttegieg, Castro, Booker Bloomberg etc total well over 50% so unless centrist dropouts supporters switch to the left, Biden or Buttegieg look most likely at this stage

He is a real chance Bob. Doing the right things, talking to people he needs to. Will be interesting in the upcoming December debate how much they go after him. It is down to six candidates, and he is a genuine front-runner.

Hey Bob, it has started before the debate, and not surprisingly it is Elizabeth Warren going after Pete Buttigieg, and doing it on campaign finance going at him personally. He is also copping it harshly from a couple of left wing commentators. Pete has them all worried. Dont green out just yet.Wink

After high flying for a couple of months she took a big hit over her healthcare plan and particularly how to pay for it and is realistically looking at being done after Iowa caucus. I imagine most of her support will migrate to Bernie, if she falls.

PT I have had a lazy $125 bet @ $8, I am getting a great run for my money and will do nothing until he shortens into evens then I will crush the bet back on Betfair,

More attacks coming his way Bob. The field sees him as the biggest threat to each other.

I had a small wager on Betfair(view of greening out) on Amy Klobuchar @ $71. She is very under rated and is plugging along through the centre lane between the 4 front runners. She is not a big fundraiser and doesn't have a high name recognition, but sticks on the 3% line and has made the final 6 for the December debate, which must give her a boost. She will not be a target but can take shots herself. As others drop around her I am betting she will hang in there and will shorten.

Panahi was bleating a big fat 100% lie about Elizabeth Warren - her career is based on preferential treatment because she claimed to be native American. 100% bullsh1t. It is only wacky media like that and extremist Trumpers with no actual followers on twitter talking about that Bob. They are then trying to claim that she should repay her Harvard salary. Not getting much traction.

Neither is the ongoing ''debate'' with Pete over who earned what in the private sector and over showing tax returns. and revealing fundraising. Trumpers and Trump wont be making a fuss over anyone not releasing financial records.

Good that they are getting this stuff sorted out well before the Primaries start.

Also Bloomberg in an interview yesterday said stuff that should have blown up his candidacy, but it has hardly raised any comment. With the huge news week coming up, it may get lost.

He has ordered his staff at Bloomberg News to not do any investigative work on him or any Democrat and said that his upset staff just have to live with some stuff as part of keeping their jobs.

Julian Castro drops out of the Democrats' 2020 presidential race, saying 'it isn't our time'

Posted

Julian Castro, the grandson of a Mexican immigrant who became San Antonio mayor and a US housing secretary, has suspended his 2020 Democratic presidential run in a race overshadowed by more famous liberals.

Key points:

  • Mr Castro was a fierce critic of Donald Trump and championed immigrants' rights
  • He had struggled to raise money and build a profile in the crowded Democrat race
  • His departure could magnify criticism about the Democrats' lack of diversity

The departure of the only Latino from the campaign, a month or so ahead of early nominating contests in Iowa and New Hampshire, leaves 14 Democratic candidates seeking the party's nomination to take on Republican President Donald Trump in November.

Mr Castro, 45, a rising star in the Democratic Party, did not garner enough support to compete against better-known candidates, including leading progressive candidates US Senators Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.

Mayor Pete who is surging in polling and in funds raised is a 37yo whipper snapper. He is considered the front-runner in the early Primaries/caucus in most polls

Elizabeth Warren hasn't declared her funds yet but is struggling.

I think the age thing this time around is a reflection of what Democrats major priority is, removal of the existential threat Trump and getting their dignity and country back.

A known quantity with very high recognition is winning at the moment followed by several other known quantities of similar vintage. If a younger candidate can be seen as able to beat Trump and still articulate a positive message, movement in their direction will follow.

The first 4 primaries will be very important for momentum but this time around there are a number of very wealthy candidates who dont need public funding to stay in the race.

He still cannot get his primary vote over 43% and you cant win with 43%.

Michael Bloomberg today committed 500 full campaign staff right up to the election for the winning Democratic candidate if it isn't him, and up to half a billion in financial support for advertising and costs. Those are huge numbers.5 times what Trump spent 3 years ago.
