I've never followed the career of Australia's third rate mini Ali closely. Probably because boxing is on pay-for-view these days so it never crosses my radar.Big smile In the alphabet soup of boxing world champions, what was The Man's highest overall position in his weight division? Overall, including every boxer in the world in the weight division.

Same Tlaz & I don't know the answers. All I know is the bloke is never going to be seen as a good boxer with a big mouth. World Champion - I don't think so. Maybe in a Mickey Mouse Association. There are at least 4 World Boxing Associations these days. Often hear people saying he has been good for the sport - I don't think he has. This fight coming up is a joke. Means nothing. Horn beat a tired old World Champion in a controversial result. Got shown up last fight - absolutely outclassed. This is his get out payday & he can then go back to teaching

Yes maxie, a very talented athlete and fighter who didn't get into the ring as a professional till he was 25 and had only 4 amateur fights, and only after he was finished with another successful sporting career in rugby league playing at State Of Origin level. Won 3 versions of world titles and beat world champions some bigger than him. I reckon his best ever fight was a points loss to then 35-0 genuine world champion Michael Kassler.

All that's very true PT. So is the fact he went on national TV & supported the 9/11 attacks. I'm amazed this fight is being supported (as I'm told it is). Old man vs young bloke who's career is already on the slide.

Not sure what that contested stuff from 17 years ago has to do with his ability or his chances this week.

I wouldn't write him off. He is coming off a ko win this year against a tough fighter who has since won 3 and Horne is coming off a mauling. Often a bad loss like that takes time to mentally recover from if ever. Ask Mundine's father. Many think he never recovered from Monzon.

4 of Mosely's previous 6 fights were 12 round decisions against some of the games other legends, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Alvarez, Cotti. and was for a time considered the best pound for pound fighter in the world.

That argument about whether or not he was still at the top or slightly past it can be applied to any sportsman, animal or team. The fact is Mundine was in the ring with high class fighters and never disgraced himself.

Happy Clapper is rubbish by your definition, but I would love to own him.

Is fascinating to see different martial arts and strategies being used and which ones win.  Boxing, ju jitsu, wrestling . Brazilian ju jitsu, judo, muy thai,

The most effective style seems to be wrestling, Ben Askren is the best example.  College wrestler, gets his opponents to the ground by diving at their feet, game over they are as defenceless as babies after that.  Boring and unpopular style but super effective

Difficult one to judge but $5 does look overs.

Horne is a bit like old Jeff Harding, he wears them down with his face, and he copped a mauling last start.

The risky bad eyes of Horne do make Mundine overs.
He didn't get a serious mauling last time , The referee saved him from That
The best lb for lb in the world was too quick and classy for him and is undefeated thus far . Surprised me .     So Horn has competed with some good ones really.
The rise in the weight division is a huge plus for him , while a minus for Mundine ,   Who looks dehydrated already and still has weight to lose .
At 43 and weakened in saunas , I expect Horn to belt shxt out of him.

Mundine has been /is a super athlete . We can't take that away from him.

How many retirements has he had now? 7-8?

I reckon he still has another Danny Green absolutely last fight in him, or a Horne rematch if they can engineer a 12 round close result.

The fight has many Vs like first post.

Hence the interest rather than pure boxing itself.

It's pure theatre and drama.

Wonderful job by mundine today throating Horn, that is why the only real imterest is how badly Horn opens him up fight time , white towel will get a work out imo.

I only became interested in Ali's career this year.
Naturally with that amout of fame, you know he is damn good, some say one of the greatest sports people of all time, if not the greatest.
But I didnt really how truly magical Ali was.
His footwork.
The way he would bob and weave, tilt to miss a punch, then tilt while tilting, 2 punches missing, then in a heartbeat after 2 tilts, he dances to the side and goes BANG.
He sure was something else.
I also didnt realise how many punches he could unleash in seconds.
So not only were his opponents normally missing him, he would hit back tenfold connecting.

Mundine sure does look in good shape for this fight. That took some decent discipline. Based on that, it will be close. Mundine isnt exactly a hack.

Horn replied to Mundine, "get ready to s#ck my d#ck".

So Horny.

Mundine, who admits to despising homosexuality, reacted by choking Horny.

Horny made Mundine choke?

Geepez. Bring the white towels. Many things ready to happen in the Ring.
Oh no, its getting worse. LOL.

Your joking Redemption ...   NO WAY Horn would have said that.

His interview , he said "are you ready".     Mundine went overboard and maybe they were jazzing up for the viewers or not , what Mundine did was an assault.

Is there anything stoopider than a boxing fan? Throw out some burley and they take the bait every time.

Have backed Horn by KO/TKO in rounds 6-12 @3.25. It’s a UBET promo market (available for accounts and in venue). Know virtually nothing about this but the same option could be put together on Betfair @2.6 approx so happy to take it. Good for an interest.

Big drop in class for Horn , stronger at these weights.

Mundine    At 43 , and looking dehydrated to the stick insect stage .   Horn has to win.   ( they can't lose those weights and recover in a day)
By round 6 ( like horn last time )   They can't hold their arms up.
Good luck with the bets ... appears Horn is getting out on Betfair $1.26
I would expect it to go 5/6 rounds = From there on it's a tough road for
Mundine.

That was basically my thinking. As I said I don’t know much about boxing at all so could be off the mark. As you said though Mundine looks a big struggle to get to the weight, must have taken a lot out of him. And yes big class drop. They probably want to give the crowd and PPV audience their monies worth too so doubt Horn would be knocking him out early on.

As I said, could well be the wrong thinking though.

After filling up all night while waiting an eternity for the main event, the first round demolition will do nothing to help lower the glassing count.
