The penny finally dropped. The only person not happy will be Derek Carr ![]() Las Vegas Raiders fire head coach Josh McDaniels and GM David ZieglerThe Las Vegas Raiders are parting ways with head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager David Ziegler, the team announced late Tuesday night. “After much thought about what the Raiders need to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave,” owner Mark Davis said in a statement. “I want to thank them both for their hard work and wish them and their families nothing but the best.” |

The Raiders made a huge mistake not sticking with Besaccia after he pulled that team together the way he did and you are right PL, that GM and Head Coach have done a massive disservice to the team with their recruitment decisions. At least Urban Meyer did not do anything to ruin Doug Pederson's chances at Jacksonville, as an example of how to leave a team better off.
Okay we are now sitting at 69 from 122 so lets see if we can get into double figures. Tennessee to defeat Pittsburgh. No bet Kansas City to defeat Miami. Kansas City @ $1.89 giving 1.5 points start (in Germany) Los Angeles Rams to defeat Green Bay. No bet Tampa Bay to defeat Houston. No bet Washington to defeat New England. No bet ( Washington obviously tanking this season after letting two very solid pass rushers go during the trade deadline) New Orleans to defeat Chicago. New Orleans to win @ $1.23 (I am giving the Saints one more chance to show me their offense ability that they unleashed last week) Atlanta to defeat Minnesota (with no Cousins). No bet Baltimore to defeat Seattle. No bet. This is Baltimore's week to have a good offense again. Cleveland to defeat Arizona. Cleveland to win @ $1.24 Indianapolis to defeat Carolina. No bet Philadelphia to defeat Dallas. Philadelphia to win @ $1.55 Las Vegas to defeat New York Giants. Las Vegas to win @ $1.76 Cincinatti to defeat Buffalo. Cincinatti to win @ $1.75 Los Angeles Chargers to defeat New York Jets. No bet

Okay Cincinnati are officially done and dusted for this season.
They are three games behind Ravens with a game to spare (the Ravens have not had their bye yet). If Burrow misses any games the Bengals will be lucky to win any more games.

Latest id that Burrow is out for the season
An MRI showed the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback suffered a torn ligament in his right wrist in Thursday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The team termed the issue an acute injury that likely occurred in the second quarter. On the next play, Burrow threw a 4-yard touchdown pass in what will likely be his final throw of 2023.

"I haven’t been fired for saying it, but I’ll say it again, I would make up the report sometimes because, A, the coach wouldn’t come out at half-time or it was too late and I was like, I didn’t want to screw up the report, so I was like, ‘I’m just gonna make this up,’” Clarissa Thompson told the “Pardon My Take” podcast. “No coach is gonna get mad if I say, ‘Hey, we need to stop hurting ourselves, we need to be better on third down, we need to stop turning the ball over and do a better job of getting off the field,’” added Thompson, who started work as an NFL sideline reporter for Fox Sports during the late 2000s. “Like, they’re not gonna correct me on that. I’m like, it’s fine, I’ll just make up the report.” It's Fox, I expect nothing less. |

Wouldn't it be a great redemption story if Jared Goff were to lead the Detroit Lions to a Super Bowl title, even a division title, a feat Matthew Stafford could not achieve once in his 11 years in town. Stafford couldn't even get them a play-off win, going 0-3 from his 3 Wild Card appearances under centre for the Lions.
Especially considering the history of Goff being punted out of LA as Stafford was seen as the guy to take them to the next step and win a title in their own house.

I wasn't trying to suggest Matthew Stafford is a bad QB, he's solid, more that Jared Goff has perhaps been mistreated.

The knock of Colin Cowherd, through the week he trumpted about how Russell Wilson is back and the Broncos are his smokey for a wild card, now deep into the 4th quarter the Broncos trail the Vikings in Denver with 5 field goals the net return from their offence. If not for their defense they probably wouldn't be in this, one field goal resulted from an intercept that gifted them a first and goal.

Huge win for the Eagles on the road yesterday at KC, especially considering they play the Bills, Cowboys and 49ers in their next 3, it was a vital win in their quest for back to back #1 seedings, realistically they should win their division from here, they would have to lose to the Cowboys and one of their two against the Giants (with the Cowboys winning out) or lose one of those three and one of their other match ups to drop the division from here but the 8-2 Lions and 7-3 49ers could present a threat to the #1 seed and play-off first round bye.
AFC looks anyones guess right now with 3 divisional leaders sitting on a 7-3 record and Baltimore alone at the top at 8-3 but they have the Browns at 7-3 in their own division, although losing Deshaun Watson will limit those Browns and put the pressure on their D to get them home. The AFC wildcard slots also look open with only the Titans and Patriots looking to far gone for a 4-2 run home to be enough to get them into the post-season.

Tomlin deserves some respect, he's now in his 16th season in Pittsburgh and he's yet to post a losing record, they still have the comotose Patriots and Cardinals both to visit Pittsburgh, so realistically he only needs a win in 1 of the other 5 games to maintain that record, although I'm sure he'll be thinking more than simply that.
Compare Pittsburgh post-Big Ben to New England post-Brady.

You might be right Afros but Pittsburgh is one of the iconic franchises in the league and mediocrity is not tolerated. Tomlin might have a positive record, but the team has looked like superbowl contenders in about three seasons over that 16 year period, and they have had some seasons with talent down to the 3rd stringers.
That press conference yesterday where he announced Canada gone looked to me to be made by a guy who had been told by the owner, this idiot is going and if we do not challenge for the superbowl this season your next. The reason players would vote to play for him is that he is an enabler. Any bad behaviour off field (just look at Levon Ball and Antonio Brown for starters) is condoned in some manner and he always takes the heat off his players when they make stupid plays. The fact that Pickett has looked to be de-evolving as a QB and that the offense has been lethargic, ineffective and predictable for at least five years, tells me that he relies too heavily on high end talent to get his team a win and when they do not put the effort in that is when the team loses. |

As usual, only pop up when your teams grab a win.
Todays Jets-Miami clash had quite a insane last minute of the first half, Miami used their last timeout to preserve clock with the Jets set to punt on 4th down, which they did, the first play of this drive for Miami saw a pick 6 for the Jets, who of course missed the PAT. Miami recieved the kick off after this TD and failed to gain the big chunks necessary to get into field goal range until with 9 seconds left Tua was again picked off, leaving the Jets with 2 seconds left and out of field goal range, take a knee? Not a chance! The Jets elected to take a hail mary attempt which was promptly picked off on the goal line by a Miami DB, who immediately started running up field, once he had the skill position players behind him he had to only beat a QB and some linemen with blockers around to help, he returned the intercept to the house to take Miami into the break with a 17-6 lead. Sadly for the Jets the second half saw the game play out as expected, Miami triumphing 34-13. Rodgers has been up to his usual games of putting the lights on himself, talking of maybe playing toward the end of this season, but given the Jets now sit 2 wins outside the play-offs with 2/3 of the season gone, there may be little to gain from taking him off the ice, if it is even possible, especially considering we're talking about a veteran QB coming back from an achilles injury and the well reported o-line issues the Jets have, they'd be better off icing Rodgers for next season and spending the next couple months evaluating all o-line options in free agency and the draft to better protect Rodgers next season.
