Philadelphia to defeat Washington. Philadelphia @ $1.94 giving Washington 8.5 point start.
Looks a safe bet on last week's form...but strange things happen... |

Combine that with the fact that many Americans throughout history have admired con men. Trump is merely the latest, and as far as political cons go, the greatest.

GB fans boo Love and the team off the field at half-time.
Le Fleur has to take some blame. How can any team defend such a rubbish attack. Love honestly looks as though he hasn't a clue. |

Okay it's official, Detroit would need to lose their entire starting squad to not win this division.
Green Bay have officially become Detroit's b#@ch. Minnesota have reverted back to reality where they have used up all their luck last season and they are now losing the close ones, as expected. And Chicago, uuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, what do we say, The Bears is the Bears. Detroit are good now (realistically they should be 4-0 after the defense's bad last quarter against Seattle), but if their defense can limit the average opposition defenses to 17 points they will be improving and they will be winning at least 10 games this season.

They are a good team...but they didn't have much to beat today.
Why take Watson and Jones off Q and then barely use them? Also...some of Le Fleur's calls were farcical. I'm grateful we've got two wins, but it's going to be a looooong season. |

Bears vs Broncos this week, this could be a 48-45 game the way these two are travelling.
Payton may wish he stayed on that couch.

Jets testing Kansas.
Taylor Swift in the box, a huge distraction? Mahomes has two intercepts and Kelce is all over the joint. |

worst game I've ever seen Mahomes play...but Kansas still win.
Felt for Wilson. Made one vital mistake, but generally played well. |

I need something explained to me please. Just under 2 to go in the Chiefs Jets game Mahomes has a perfect opportunity to score a touchdown, instead he goes to ground and they "take a knee" for the remainder of the game. WHY ? What is the point of 2 minutes of the game being played out like this ?

If he had scored the jets would have got the ball back with a short time remaining and (a real long shot) could nave scored twice to win the game.
By taking a knee as Mahomes did the clock stopped and then the Chiefs were able to run out the clock as the Jets had used all their time outs.

perfectly explained, Horlicks.
But if he had scored, I would have won at least ten more fantasy games...so I'm pissed he took the safe alternative. |

The bookies cheered when Mahomes went to ground
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes slid down at the New York Jets' 2-yard line, sealing a 23-20 win over the Jets on Sunday night, a decision that shifted tens of millions of dollars at sportsbooks around the nation. The Chiefs closed as 8-point favorites over the Jets and received overwhelming support from the betting public at sportsbooks. An hour before kickoff, 91% of the bets and 84% of the money wagered on the game's point spread were on Kansas City at Caesars Sportsbook. BetMGM and DraftKings also reported heavy action on the Chiefs. |

Dallas come back to reality...with a thud.
Hypocritical owner, rubbish coach, ordinary QB...and their wins have been gifted by poor opposition. Forty-niners looking very solid. How McCaffery stood up after having his head nearly removed in a double tackle...I'll never know. Gutsy little guy. |

There are now whispers that Bill Belichicks head could be on the chopping block after the back to back blowout losses for the Pats, at 71 does he even have the hunger for a full rebuild?

"Here is where I see Prescott currently — and this has become evident in any big game the Cowboys play versus good defenses: He is athletically limited, struggling to extend plays like he did earlier in his career. He has average arm strength, but more than anything he wants to get the ball out quickly. He is not as patient and is not seeing the field beyond 10 yards, and therefore he is not willing to pull the trigger on medium-range throws with confidence and anticipation like he once did. Prescott’s trajectory on long balls is still good (see his throw to Kavontae Turpin on Monday night), but his accuracy is inconsistent at all levels. In fairness, Prescott’s targets are not of the quality he had two years ago. Wide receiver Michael Gallup struggles to beat press coverage and has no extra gear after his injuries. Fellow receiver CeeDee Lamb has a tendency to disappear and is lacking in consistently detailed route running. Prescott also misses Dalton Shultz as a trusted fallback option, so it’s not all on him. But at this point, I see Prescott as no more than an average NFL starter. I would not feel comfortable paying him anywhere near his current salary." Randy Mueller spent 35 years in the NFL at all levels of football operations, from ballboy to general manager. A former NFL Executive of the Year, he joined The Athletic's NFL staff in 2023 as an expert on player talent evaluation and team roster building. He also co-hosts "The Football GM Podcast" on The Athletic Football Show. |

Okay well that week was full of surprises so lets see what we learned.
1. Seriously how does Baltimore's secondary drop 11 catches and three which were directly responsible for dropping points. What ever voodoo bullshyte juju powder Mike Tomlin has can I please get some to spread on my lotto number entry form. The Ravens should have won that game by at least 14 points, so that makes it two divisional games that the Steelers have won in the first five weeks (the Browns were defeated by TJ Watt). 2. Can Tennessee please workout how to make the good Ryan Tannehill actually pass the ball as well as he has shown he can. 3. Howbout d'em Cowboys? That 49ers performance was one of the most dominant disposals of a supposed contender I have seen for a while. Plenty of work to go for McCarthy and Dak, and good luck with that Jerry Boy. 4. The Jags and Bills did not showcase the sport with a very dour unattractive match in London. 5. Washington win the LOLCOW of the week award by turning from a team that hung with the Eagles, to losing to a terrible team who is looking to tank for the number one draft selection next year. 6. We can officially say that Bill Belichick has lost any mojo he had and it might be time for him to move on at least from the GM position as his recruitment and decisions off field also are starting to look poor. 7. Except for San Fran no team looked a genuine Superbowl winner this week. The Eagles remained undefeated but they were made to work for it by a Rams team which looks like they might be a wild card chance. MVP Award Week 5: JaMarr Chase was back to his receiving best, David Montgomery was awesome as the Lions continued to utilise their running game, but for me this week belongs to one man, a man who has been de4scribed as irrelevant, a man who has been told he is good because of the weapons he has, a man who has been told he is good because of the offensive system he is in and a man who has remained undefeated, and who has handled the naysayers as classy as any player I have ever seen. That man is Brock Purdy. All the so called media experts say that he is not in the top ten QB's. They say all of the above he is good because of McAffery or Kittle or Samuel or Shannahan or the water boy or the guy who operates the scoreboard, and you want to know something, those experts can shove their expert opinions as far up their a#@holes because it is all BS! He has not lost a game he has finished. he has a good passing game both decision making and execution. He can move in the pocket. He adds a threat to the offense which makes the defensive line have to make a decision about what they target, the o-line to shut down the running game or the QB to shutdown the passing game. For me the only stat for a QB that matters is wins and losses (look at Kirk Cousins this season. He is playing as good statistically as he ever has but the team is 1-4). Unfortunately Purdy will never win a MVP award for a season while he is at SanFran but he should be near the top of the list after week 5. Best Team Award: While SanFran is the obvious choice and well deserving, I have to say that for me Detroit was awesome. Now, they were playing a team on a huge tank season, but the reason they are the team award winner this week is that they went in to that game as a heavy favorite. They had been told all week that basically they just had to turn up and win, just like Washington would have been hearing. Yet the Dan Campbell team showed me with this win that they do not care who they play, they do not care what record their opponent has they do care about what is happening with other tams especially in their own division, that they are going to go out every week and do their job and perform to their best. That was a very significant attitude showcase for me just like last seasons final match at Lambaugh where they showed the Packers what life without Rodgers may be, even with Rodgers still there. So for me the Lions showed me with that attitude in that win over the Panters that they are genuine NFC Championship contenders.
