the less said about the Packers match, the better.
Worst all-round performance from every team member I've ever seen. |

Week 1 review.
Where do we start? I think it was one of the best week 1's I have seen. Mahomes showed you can never count him out as he brought the Chiefs back from a deficit against a quality offense (so the Chiefs defense is still good enough to win a superbowl). Cincinnatti showed that they can win outside their own division with a string effort at home against the Vikings. Green Bay were woeful against a Saints offense who looked like they firing an all cylinders, however the Packers were so bad that we have to see New Orleans against a quality defence. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense looked good against Tampa Bay and for me they are the favorites for the division (if Dak can stay healthy). Kyla Miller and Hopkins looked like Montana and Rice against the Tennessee side. If the cardinals defence can stand up all season, they could be a hope for a wild card. If the 49'ers can stay healthy they have a team that can make it back to the play offs. We normally get some anomalous results in the first three weeks and so we will see how some of the teams who failed in week 1 bounce back, or if they are in for long seasons (Green Bay and Tennessee). Lets hope that week 2 is as good as week 1. Best win of the week: New Orleans Honorable Mention: Arizona Week 1 MVP: DeAndre Hopkins, Arizona Beyond Expectations Performance: The Saints would be a good selection for this award but I think Arizona were so good away from home that they deserve the award. Worst Team Performance: Green Bay. Their offense was atrocious, but the defence was non existent. They need to find their form as soon as possible. Team To Watch Over The Next 5 weeks: I have two and they come from the same state Ohio. Cleveland and Cincinnatti both have good draws. They both performed well in week 1 with a loss and a win but both their performances were very good. |

Green Bay looked like a bunch of amateurs, led by Charles Aaron Rodgers Manson.
Barely any of the top players played in the pre-season games. AJ Dillon and Amari Rodgers being two who did, and both looked good in their rare moments. As for the defence...there wasn't any. The Saints were made to look better than they really are. In regards to Arizona...who have always been my second team...I just slotted their defence into my fantasy teams. I think they'll have a big year. |

It was a thrilling finish to today's game. Raiders celebrate scoring the winning TD in OT, only to have it declined to a knee down at the one. Then they stuff up the next three downs and get intercepted in goal.
Baltimore look like charging upfield, only needing a field goal, Jackson loses the ball and the Raiders, fudging for five lost metres, have Derek Carr throw a brilliant untouched TD, to win. Great game. I reckon Derek Carr is better than a lot of people give credit. But he's never had a balanced team to lead. |

Gruden has always had a lot of time for Carr even before he went back to coaching and when he took the Raiders job said that Carr was definitely a potential star.

I suspect that Detroit might take the brunt of a form reversal.
Aaron has copped some flak over his non-performance, especially the two intercepts. The defence needs to step up a thousand percent, though... |

Sorry guys I meant if Kyla Murray and Hopkins keep going for the Cardinals, it will be a huge win.
I think I had what is colloquially known as a seniors moment.

I bet Edwards-Helaire is popular, after that drop. He 's on my hit list for costing me one fantasy win.
Jackson is such a lair...I would have killed myself laughing if he'd dropped the ball or injured himself, cartwheeling unnecessarily, to score. entertaining game, though. ![]() |

Your right Shrunk Carr looks like he is getting time from his O-line and they got their defense in order. I hope I do not jinx them next week.Okay what did we find out besides the ups and downs of NFL first five week form! The Saints are as we thought before last weeks match. I feel sorry for Joe Burrows. His O-line is terrible and it looks like another year of scrambling to 2 or 3 wins for the Bungles. Heineker looks to be the option at quarterback for Washington over Fitzmagic. Dallas looked good and the Lord of Darkness, will be praying all season that Dak stays healthy. Buffalo showed that killer defense, also that Miami might be a year or two off a genuine play off team. The Raiders have now put a strong case forward for being rated genuine play off contenders with two strong wins against teams who should be there come play off time. Baltimore had better hope Lamar Jackson stays healthy. That offense is a monster! Best win of the week: Tough week to select one, but obviously Buffalo smashing Miami in Florida was awesome, however I am going for Baltimore over the Kansas City Chiefs. They only won by one point however for me this was Lamar Jackson's best victory, against a top side and with a number of injuries. The Ravens deserved the week 2 best win award. Most Improved: Buffalo are the sane selection here. Their first up defensive effort was not up to their standard, but that defense really showed their true nature in Miami. It will take them a long way, maybe all the way! Worst team effort: I was all set to put in the Miami Dolphins here, but New York Jets made a late grab for this award. But I will stick with Miami as they looked lost in both sides of the game. There is a lot of work to be done for them to move forward in a positive way. Week 2 MVP: I think any logical, unbiased fan would have to have Lamar Jackson in this spot. Many honorable mentions to Christian McCafree, Derek Carr and Gronkowski among others but Jackson was against a very professional defense, and he and his receivers and running back made the defense look inept at times. The Chiefs are such a good team that they still won, but for me Jackson was a clear winner of this award. Teams to keep a watch on: We nominated the two Ohio franchises (Cleveland and Cincinnati) to go well over the first five rounds and I can still see that happening although the Bengals do have a tough road trip to the Black and Gold Wall next week. I think we can also add Dallas to that duo. They looked good against the Chargers and also when just going down to Tampa Bay. That is good form and as long as Dak is their quarterback, they would fancy themselves to win their next four matches. I have to repeat what I said last week, this has been a great start to the season and it should continue next week!

Packers' defence is still non-existent. Kevin King is totally useless.
Rodgers still dancing around the pocket too long. This game will come down to timing.

I like someone's comment: "Don't let the Packer win distract you from the fact their defence is terrible..."
Three players who contributed most to the win: 1. Aaron Jones. 2. Jared Goff. 3. Randall Cobb. Aaron delivered...but a few missiles still missed the mark by ............... Valdez-Scantling should be de-listed if he can't keep up. |

Well you're right about the Packers' defense.
Thought Goff played great, albeit ruining his performance with that critical fumble. Talking about defense, the Detroit crew is lacking several critical players and currently isn't up to the task.

Goff had two fumbles.
One directly from centre, the other all his own. He also threw a pick. Apart from that he played well.

But neither the other fumble (which was recovered) nor the intercept cost the Lions. And you may be're overlooking his carries, one of which was important in a touch-down.
But in truth we're perhaps arguing at the margins as the better side clearly won on the day.

Seems like most QBs make a number of errors a game. Like the NRL, some are glossed over or dismissed whilst others are highlighted |

This thread started in July this year and I was wondering why there is such interest in US football this year , so I looked to see if there were similar threads for the 2020 and 2019 seasons and drew a blank.
Could it be that some dude from Sydney has made his way to the US and has received a multi million dollar signing on fee from a hitherto unknown team over there ?
