GB keep trying to get a young back-up QB for Rodgers and continually pick rubbish.

Jordon Love is not even as good as Brett Huntley, who was pretty crap...

It makes sense that they would be looking to add a back up/cover/future replacement, that is common sense, but burning a first round pick on that instead of adding someone who could contribute in his rookie season, crazy.

I would take a chance on Trubisky, if they could fit him under the cap.

He wasn't that bad at Chicago and is on the free agent list.

Experience is worth the extra expense.

no Brady, no rings for Gronk.

I might have to re-consider whether to take Lockett and Metcalfe in my fantasy teams this year. Not having Wilson will have an impact, unless Seattle come up with a miracle new QB.

 Carson Wentz to Washington.

talk that the Colts will now target Garoppolo.

Quarterbacks on the move makes for an interesting season...except at GB.  Happy happy happy to have another finals campaign. We may not win supers, but we always get plenty of fun, winning season games, while smashing Chicago and Detroit ...

Very strange move for the Commies to grab Wentz jj!

Now back in the division after his stint with Philadelphia. His best is elite, but we do not consistently get to see that best.

Wentz reminded me of Rodgers when he first emerged. I thought he was going to be a huge star.

But he hasn't traded in on that talent...

According to ESPN Packers are trading Adams to Raiders.

Just days after Rodgers signed his blockbuster contract extension to return, Adams, his favorite target, left town in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Thursday.

The Raiders are sending the Packers their first-round pick (No. 22 overall) and second-round pick (No. 53) in this year's draft, sources told Schefter. That gives the Packers four picks in the top 60; they also own picks Nos. 28 and 59.

Four years ago, the star tight end retired from the Dallas Cowboys to join ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” booth to much fanfare. His salary was a reported $4 million — which, back then, was a lot.

Witten, though, was a bust.

He was clumsy. He mispronounced names, misused the telestrator and lit up social media with every gaffe. After one season, he returned to the Cowboys.

ESPN, still wanting to juice its Monday booth, made a big play that offseason for free agent Tony Romo, the former Cowboys quarterback who had become the shiniest new toy in NFL broadcasting, famous for predicting plays. Romo re-signed with CBS rather than jump to ESPN. But he got a raise — a big raise, with his annual salary jumping from around $3 million to something in the neighborhood of a staggering $17 million, in no small part because ESPN bid up the price.

Fast-forward to Wednesday, when ESPN made it official that it had swiped Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, the faces of rival Fox’s NFL coverage, to be its new Monday night pair. Aikman will eclipse Romo’s annual salary, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. Buck could approach $15 million per year, according to a person with knowledge of that deal. (ESPN declined to comment on the terms.)

Aikman and Buck aren’t the only football broadcasters cashing in. Al Michaels, who just called the Super Bowl for NBC, could be headed to Amazon for a rumored $10 million per year, where he could team with Kirk Herbstreit, best known as ESPN’s top college football analyst, who is expected to moonlight on Amazon’s Thursday night telecasts. (Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, owns The Washington Post.)

NBC’s lead NFL analyst, Cris Collinsworth, recently got a raise to a reported $12.5 million. And Romo’s broadcast partner, Jim Nantz, makes more than $10 million now, too. (Most, if not all, of the moves and dollar figures were first reported by the New York Post.)

“I never saw a scintilla of evidence that people in the booth change the ratings even by a smidgen,” said Skipper, now the CEO of a new venture called Meadowlark Media, during a recent appearance on partner Dan Le Batard’s podcast. “The race to hire people is mostly about internal pride, right? We want to present a good game, we want the media to suggest we have a great booth, and the people who can do this very well are very rare.”

Neal Pilson, a former head of CBS Sports, said he used to look at research that seemed to show that viewers would stick with blowouts longer when John Madden was calling games in his heyday. But there was no definitive proof. ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said the network had no research that showed announcers had any impact on ratings.

 Green Bay fans hate Aikman.

Witten's failure sounds just like Money Bill Williams, on channel nine NRL. He is jerky, irritating and disruptive.

 Tony Romo is very good.

The commentators don't have enough time to wind up to insanity level in NFL like they do in the more continuous games. I like it like that.

so do I. I love the 'calm' approach.

Just wish some coverage would have less background noise. It can overwhelm.

The other impressive thing to me about the American commentators is they know when to shut up. Too many of ours think they are still on radio and have to describe everything even when it is self evident.

It is quite a contrast hearing the styles of any of Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman or Tony Romo and Jim Nantz, all with differing styles but all quite good, then switching over to the NRL on 9 and seeing a bloke with concussion followed by a quip from Joey Johns about walking like that out of a night club at 3am, or Ray Hadley blathering on moronically.  Quite a contrast.

I don't know about some but back when 9 had Hadley on their coverage, if the game wasn't a cracker I'd happily switch over to the AFL rather than listen to that moron fart on, some may be different but commentary definitely influences my viewing.

 I agree about Hadley.

But I can't take Bruce McAvaney and his statistics...or lately, Matthew Richardson, who always seems to be barracking for one team on the field.

Okay where do we sit so far with the free agency trades.

Deshaun Watson - Cleveland
Russel Wilson      - Seattle to Denver
Carson Wentz      - Indianapolis to Washington
Matt Ryan           - Atlanta to Indianapolis
Mitch Trubisky     - Chicago to Pittsburgh
Alex Cappa         - Tampa Bay to Cleveland
Ted Caraz           - New England to Cleveland
Khalil Mack         - Chicago to L.A.Chargers
DeVante Adams   - Green Bay to Las Vegas
JuJuSmith Schuster - Pittsburgh to Kansas City
Randy Gregory     - Dallas to Denver
Von Miller            - Los Angeles Rams to Buffalo
Tyreek Hill           - Kansas City to Miami (where did that come from, a huge surprise to me).

One trade nearly complete is La'el Collins from Dalls to Cleveland. This would add to the Bengals moves to strengthen their offensive line with Ted Caraz and Alex Cappa already secured.

Some huge trades there.

The Bengals have done what they had to do to supply Joe Burrow with protection, with the younger layers already there who imporved in the back half of the season, this has to make them a definite superbowl contender once again.

If They can secure La'el Collins from Dallas, this weakens the Cowboys even more who have already lost Randy Gregory who  the Cowboys did everything to keep but in the end they lost.

Of the quarterback moves I think Matt Ryan to Colts is a good move. He is a very solid QB who can use his weapons (and one of the NFL's best running backs) within his own playing style.

Von Miller adds to an already superbowl level defense in Buffalo, and they improve with his addition.

I was unaware he wanted out which makes Tyreek Hill's trade especially shocking and to Miami. They only just missed the playoffs last season but Hill can work well with Tua or if they get another QB.

DeVante Adams to raiders was not strange as he gets to reteam with his college QB in Derek Carr.

Very interesting times indeed!

the Tyreek Hill trade even surprised Tyreek Hill.

I hope Matt Ryan does well at the Colts. Always enjoyed his play.

Trubisky isn't that bad a QB. I think Chicago expected too much, too soon.

Tyreek Hill is a small WR with blazing speed. Small speedy wide receivers get banged up. We'll see how it works out in 2026 when he's 32 and Miami are paying him $50.1 million.
