Fingers crossed he’s avoided going to Asia.

Now listed as being in training with Anthony Freedman.

Let’s see if Lee Freedmans investment pays off.

I’ll have a little each way today.

$3.70 place dividend was a nice collect.

Would have been great if he’d won, but can’t begrudge old sin to Win breaking the drought.  He’s been a lovely consistent stayer for so many seasons.

Up for sale again on Inglis Digital.

Didn’t recoup his previous $75k purchase price under the Freedmans.

Latest bid of $30,000 with a few hours to go.

Has been schooled for the jumps, wouldn’t surprise to see him end up at Musgroves

Initially was purchased to go to Singapore but couldn’t get a flight due to COVID

2nd up for Smith in the Edenhope Cup today
Not sure the track is going to suit his style but this is the weakest field he's been in for a while (today's field has a few jumpers in it).
Got into the wrong part of the track at Colac first up and just faded late.
$5.50 second fav behind Farooq.

I’ve had a few good collects on this guy over the years, so I keep following his career.  He’s always been a consistent performer, winning or picking up cheques every campaign since he arrived in Australia.

But he’s definitely struggling this campaign with Lindsay Smith, getting beaten 10lens in yesterday’s BM84 over 2400m at Bendigo.  Not sure where to now for him, but he’s performed well over 2800-3200m in the past, so if no injury niggles maybe try him over the hurdles to spark him up.

Good luck to your mate Shawy!  But NW is going to have to improve significantly to be competitive in a Warrnambool Cup though.

Lindsey said today he'd been schooling him and that he 'jumps like a kangaroo'
Needed to show something today to warrant going on with.
He failed, so will be interesting to see where they go next with him.

Does the Lindsay Smith stable employ someone with jumping expertise.  Can’t recall him having any hurdlers since moving to Vic. But

Not sure why he ran yesterday on an unsuitably heavy track, but nevertheless there wasn’t much to suggest he’s got much enthusiasm for racing anymore.

12th of 13 in BM78 beaten 13 lengths, behind a lot of horses he would have torched 6-12 months ago.

He’s had a sterling racing career, but have to say the end is nigh.

This is what my mate sent me on Monday, didn't work out as planned though. Not sure what they have in mind now.

Race 7 Mercedes-Benz BM78 Handicap 2350m - 2.55pm

2 - NAVAL WARFARE

Trainer: Lindsey Smith

Jockey: Damien Oliver

Barrier: 9

TAB.com.au Betting: $21 / $6

Comment:

He has been disappointing since we purchased him online.

After a nice first-up run in the Colac Cup, his next three runs have been mystifying.

Originally aimed at the Warrnambool Cup after terrific staying form for previous stables, we have now lowered our sights to this BM78 because of his form.

A change up in training, including some jumps schools will hopefully flick his brain into action, while a mild medical condition which has been treated in recent days could free up his action.

Add in the positive of Damien Oliver riding along with a heavy track and a form reversal could be sparked.

Worth an each-way punt at big odds.

Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing

He managed a couple of placings after leaving Waller when with Freedmans, they had wanted to get him to Singapore but COVID buggered that.
Mate just texted me to say he's gone to the paddock, hasn't been trying in his races. Has had a few minor niggles so will be put away and brought back in the Spring and start a fresh.

He is on Inglis Digital

Description

Naval Warfare is a 7 yr old Gelding by Sea Moon who is a winner of 6 races and $578,000 in prizemoney. He was purchased online in November 2020 to be aimed at the Warrnambool cup for his new owners. He had 5 runs in the preparation and performed well below expectations in all 5 starts and he is now being offered for unreserved sale. He is currently rated 74 in Victoria and is spelling since his last start. He has no obvious issues according to the trainer and jockeys involved. He has been schooled and can jump pretty well so he may suit that pursuit in the future and our team has voted to move him on. For more information feel free to contact Lindsey Smith, Shane Jackson or Darren Dance

Wink

Well he’ll finally get back into the placings in the next at Warwick Farm LOL

Geez, how long since we’ve seen a 2 horse race at a metropolitan meeting??  I know it’s a heavy 10 but good prize money on offer and not sure some of the horses that scratched have bigger races ahead.

10 races at Randwick cluttered with restricted class horses doesn't help either Confused but it's the " bottom line " and more " mug money " on Saturday that fills the coffers . Wink

Didn’t see the win by this veteran campaigner coming today at Warwick Farm - 20/1 rank outsider in the field of 6 and wins easily.

Congrats to Ron Leemon Clap
