This is the colt Waller wants to geld for no other reason than for the sake of it.

He says as much in the video posted on the Calculated thread.

By a failing stallion from a female family that hasn't produced a decent sire in five generations.

Get rid of them!

What is the relevance of Northern Dancer in this context?

And please be specific.

Nearctic was hardly a super duper sire of sires.

At the end of the day this horse does not deserve gelding, it is purely the laziness and cheapness of Australasian trainers that this horse will be wasted.

Waller has a great record with these imports and he is a firm believer in their improvement when gelded. When you've got a horse with no commercial value whatsoever, and Australia's leading trainer adamant these imports improve for the gelding, why would you stop him?

I know little of the in depths of Thoroughbred training , however , when our trainer had our charge gelded ( went on to win a black type ), he stated the horse was becoming top heavy and minor behaviour issues.

I could relate to that and often wish I had been assisted, early in life with a similar consideration .

Djebel is the perfect candidate for gelding.

Stubborn, recalcitrant, hates change. On top of that he's the classic breed from the motherland - very soft, fizzy, does poorly in Australian stables and conditions, and resents our hard methods and fortnightly programming.

He must be by Montjeu.

Naval Warfare ran an absolute bottler just last weekend jumping and running fairly hard in front before staving off all bar one. So what do they do, back him up a week later over 2400m in a slightly harder race.

Waller needs to prove to the owner the horse requires gelding and this is how he does it.

He does drop 7.5 kgs.

I really should not have added he drops 7.5 kgs as he is actually 3.5 kgs poorly weighted in relation to the Benchmarks.

Why do jockeys try these stupid run them off their feet tactics in distance races? It almost never works (2nd at Flemington today an exception) this fella was a million to one passing the 'Stradbroke' start.

Is being sold on the latest Inglis Digital auction.

Current bidding at $50,000.

Fits the profile of the type of horse Eric Musgrove goes after. Will be interesting to see where he ends up & what price he ends up fetching.
