Also yes this colt may be able to stay.  But his first four stallions stakes wins are Savabeel (middle distance 2000m), O'Reilly (sprinter miler), Centaine (sprinter miler), Imposing (sprinter miler).  There is plenty to suggest 1600m Guineas could be right up his alley.

If they are going straight to the Guineas without another run I do not mind that.

Still it is annoying stayers are not allowed to stay.

Look at it this way.  Probabeel has a New Zealand trainer as has a similar sire grouping.  Savabeel, Pins, Centaine, O'Reilly and she hasn't won a stakes race beyond 1600m.  It might not be just Waller.

He'll be allowed to stay if he proves he is not quick enough for the mile against top grade. An outpaced placing or fourth or fifth in guineas and I wouldn't be surprised if they went to the Derby.

Sportsbet have not refunded my Pre Nom bet on him in the Spring Champion Stakes? In fact, they have taken the market down completely while others such as TAB & Neds have reinstated the market with Mo'unga now out.

I am hoping Sportsbet dont have a large hold on him & offer to pay connections to lodge a nomination with no intention running? Does that kind of thing occur?

Im disappointed i haven't been refunded the Pre Nom bet already, given its clear he is not heading there.

Les Bridge was talking about Classique Legend the other day, saying he's potentially the best horse he's trained, including Sir Dapper.

Sir Dapper won the Slipper at 2, then the Peter Pan/Gloaming/Spring Champion Triple Crown st 3.

With the advent of the Golden Rose, there's no chance of a Slipper winner going down that path anymore. It's a great race, but the impact it's had on races like the Gloaming and Spring Champion is noticeable.

If ever there was a Gloaming/Spring Champion horse it's Mo'unga.

Certainly disappointing over 1600m today.  Where to next, other than perhaps the paddock?

Not sure that was the right race today. I would have gone Norman Robinson next week or stayed in Sydney for the Champion today. Next? Vase at the Valley on Cox Plate day?

Annabel has also picked up Olmedo (Fr Gr1 winner), Global Quest (Gr winning 2YO) and Osamu (Gr placed) from Waller as well as Prague (Gr3 winner, Gr1 placed) from Maher. All Aquis owned.

Mo’unga will head down to Melbourne tonight, where he lines up in his first assignment, the Group 3 CS Hayes. Delighted to have secured leading jockey

Very tidy return by this boy today.

I’m assuming he’s down in Melb for running in the Aust Guineas (& misses the Randwick Guineas)?

But think we'll see the best of him at 2000m in the Rosehill Guineas.

Dean Lester suggested today there was a dispute between trainer and owner last spring, though he ( Dean ) made it confusing. He said Waller wanted the Spring Champion and the owners had other ideas.

Anybody else hear this ?

I do not know djebel, but if Aquis want to start telling high profile trainers how to train, they will have to employ their own trainer and centralise their horses.

Kind of what they're doing with Neasham isn't it?

Poor ride by Kah on this one, you need to kick up over 1400m at Flemington until you get one off the fence. She failed to and got caught three deep no cover which is death at Flemington. Horse should've won no doubt in my mind.

Rocketing home late in the Randwick Guineas today.

Look forward to the rematch with Lions Roar in the Rosehill Guineas.  That race is shaping up as a cracking race.

Just saw this article on Twitter indicating he is headed to The George Ryder?

I thought Rosehill Guineas was the better race for him & he was headed there?
