Antony Green is giving the result to Labor, by a small margin, Albo can stare down Bill for a bit.

If Albo is replaced it certainly will not be by Shorten.

Liberal senator Jim Molan and former major general in the Australian army speaks to the media in Canberra about the new French built submarine program. He supports the program but says we need them now, and that Australia should consider nuclear power and nuclear power submarines.

Defence procurement in Australia has been a rolling balls-up for decades, which speaks to the ineptitude of people within the DOD and successive govts. Little doubt the French submarine thing was a dopey idea, and a super expensive one.

Bad Governments have rooted Australia over the years.   We are a sitting ducks.    It's only a matter of time before China, Claims their back yard.

But all we spend time on is making sure 10% of applicants hold 50% of Government seats..   Peta Credlin is becoming a pain with the relentless Push. Her true colours surfaced last night,   what a saviour, was 2 women contesting the seat of Menaro.    I think Peta needs the vet . I was wrong in falling for her "brain" chit . The typical Feminist.

Looking after the same sex deviates , will save the world .

Gender Benders in our schools .

I give up ...   Pleased to be going out of this shxt world , rather than just starting in it.

I saw several media "experts" carrying on that Labor only won because of preferences.

Eden-Monaro has always gone to preferences in my memory along with most seats.

I sincerely hope Labor take a good hard look at what happened yesterday. This was a by election for a seat they held . Traditionally voters use this sort of by election to punish the government by letting them know loud and clear if they’re going wrong . Given this electorate has been at the front line of all the disasters this year, drought , Bush fires and Covid you’d think they’d have a lot to complain about! Albanese hand picked the Labor candidate and personally campaigned hard in the electorate. The result was the Labor primary vote was down, the Greens vote was down a lot, Liberal vote was up and Labor will probably hang on to the seat with the preferences of the Shooters and Fishers party. Labor can celebrate a rare win if they want but honestly , if they don’t start listening to the electorate and get in touch with the Australian people Scomo is going to die of old age in the Lodge!

Isn't scoMo the highest rating leader in the Western world because of his pandemic response? Isn't he about 40 points in front of Albo who everyone is writing off? A very popular local member retires and the Liberal juggernaut cant even get over their petty infighting to turn around 2%.

The most interesting things to come out of yesterday’s vote were the collapse of the Greens vote in an area severely impacted by bush fires, Labor’s vote going down in places like Queanbeyan were they are normally strong and the Liberals vote going up in Cobargo where the ABC has been telling us for months everybody hates Scomo!

Or Barrilaro standing as an Independent after yesterday's carrying on Baguette.

I would be surprised if the govt goes the distance with COVID, the economic situation and the disunity in the Coalition. Maybe an election next year if Morrison puts the country before himself.

The Labor candidate did register slightly on the cute-o-meter, always worth a few votes.

Whatever the result, were you really expecting to get any useful guide to the medium or longer term prospects of Morrison or Albo from the Eden-Monaro bi-election?Wacko

Morrison is riding high now he's handing out the money. We will see how he goes when he tries to claw it back.Wink

Just shows that the ABC lies about bush fires being a result of climate change don't fool everyone.

The NSW Government announcement that they are bolstering Rural Fire front line numbers specifically for fuel reduction programs may have had scant reporting by the ABC, but the message is out there in the bush.

The irony is that they are spending the millions raised by that woke "blogger" whoever tf she was, who got everyone to donate money to them!Tongue

This dopey leftard ...

Celeste Barber has raised millions to help with the bushfire crisis. What happens to that money?

PayPal Giving Fund collects that money and then distributes it to the nominated charity which, in this case, is The Trustee For NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) and Brigades Donations Fund.

In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!

But more to the point, what hasn't been recorded her is that a new "suburb" has been established since the last election.  It's called Googong, a semi-rural area out from the traditional Labor stronghold of Queanbeyan.

Hugely expensive locale, as many as 4,000 new voters in the electorate, comprised almost exclusively of very upmarket defectors from Federal electorates in the ACT.

A new conservative enclave suddenly comprising 3% of the Eden Monaro electorate, returning about 3,000 votes to the conservative side.

So given this particular and significant demographic change it's hardly surprising that swings were accordingly affected.

That was in response to the previous comments about the drop in the Green vote ... the people of Cobargo who are not feral goat herders have seen through them.
