Not an athletic type for mine, though as you suggest almost certainly scope or X-Ray alerts.

i hope people dont misconstrue what i highlighted above about conformational faults. All I was doing is illustrating that a lot of faults self correct or the body compensates to accommodate, not by a long stretch saying i would accept as such.
re the prices, in the 4 or 5 years i have been doing this, the better selections have been the cheaper ones, under if not well under 100k

I give up  try and write something here and get timed out, write it on word get formatting wrong, cut and paste off google, which is better than making a dick of oneself when if something wrong just blame google lol , formatting wrong                                                                                                                            Day 3 Lot No. Optimum Distance G1/Group Potential Comments / Synopsis
Lot 592 1600–2000m G1Potential High                                                                                 Dam dosage just above ideal but strong sire and balanced triad; index suggests classic distance. Good overall G1 prospects.
644 1400–1800m  G1Potential High                                                                                               Horse and dam dosage both within ideal range, triad indicates speed and stamina. G1 potential is strong.
549 1600m   G1 Potential   High                                                                                               All dosage values well below thresholds, exceptional dam dosage, balanced triad; suited for G1 mile races.
561 1600–2000m   G1Potential Very High                                                                                       Horse and dam dosage both desirable; triad profile supports versatility. Strong G1 credentials.
470 1400m G1 Potential  High                                                                                               Dam dosage slightly over ideal, but horse and sire dosage strong; triad supports speed. Good G1 chance.
663 1600–1800m G1Potential High                                                                                       Dam dosage slightly high, but horse is versatile and triad supports stamina. G1 potential solid.
655 1800m  G1Potential Good                                                                                                       Dosage values are competitive, triad balanced. Slightly higher dam dosage reduces rating.
500 1800–2000m G1 Potential Good                                                                                       Dosage values above optimal but triad and index indicate classic distance aptitude. Moderate G1 hopes.
626 2000m G1Potential  Good                                                                                             Horse dosage high, dam above threshold, but triad versatile. Possible G1 potential at longer trips.

People forget heaps of stuff BP, like, Tulloch, who wasnt a real pinup boy either , and seattle slew                    Seattle Slew
  • Turned-Out Hoof: Seattle Slew was known for being splay-footed, specifically on his right front leg.
  • Gait: This caused a notable "paddled" or turned-out look from the knee down, which contributed to him being dismissed by many buyers as an "ugly" yearling.
  • Legacy: Despite this, the fault did not affect his athleticism or fluidity, as he became the first undefeated Triple Crown winner in history.

Tulloch

  • Sway Back: Tulloch’s most famous physical defect was a pronounced sway back (also called a "swamp back").
  • Other Faults: He was also described as having imperfect hocks, heavy shoulders, and a generally "weedy" or "plain" appearance as a yearling.
  • Legacy: Similar to Seattle Slew, these visual flaws were disregarded by legendary trainer T.J. Smith, and Tulloch went on to become one of the greatest Australian racehorses of the 20th century.

For acacia - Lindsay Park bought that filly (443) and already syndicating her:

Probably not much wrong with her, just the sire is not 'hot' right now.

I wish they would put Odeum to The Autumn Sun!   I keep finding mares I like but not sure they went to the stallion which would be their best mate.  Still I guess I Am Invincible is getting on and they wanted to visit him.

Breeding for the market you'd think.

At least Extreme Choice like TAS brings in Redoute's.

Lot 964 rates 7/10

Lot 964

1200m – 1400m

Moderate

 7

Balanced dosage and Pedigree profile suggest  versatility; index indicates strong sprinting bias, with potential for quality metropolitan class but G1 capability not assured.

Synopsis of Findings

Lot 964 combines strong sprinting genetics from Wandabaa and Wandjina with the added versatility and proven class from Tagaloa. Dosage and pedigree profiles present a well-balanced pedigree, favouring sprint distances between 1000m and 1400m but with enough stamina influence to attempt middle distance races. The index analysis highlights a pronounced speed bias, particularly from the dam line, and points towards metropolitan and group-level potential, though G1 capability is not guaranteed based solely on these metrics. Overall, the mating rates a solid 7 out of 10 for producing a competitive filly with commercial appeal and prospects for black-type performances, especially over sprint trips. Recommended for buyers seeking precocity and speed with a touch of versatility.

Good call on TAS for odeum, he and Anamoe, both with Odeum with me look like the same distance aptitudes, with TAS having more speed, especially closing speed, not by much, but enuff to make a difference

Yes I often find a horse I like because of the dam and regret the sire!  And i love I am Invincible but they are pure speed.  One went through the sales by Home Affairs out of the Emancipation line and my immediate thought was gee the best are milers but HA is pure speed.  Wonder if the mare line can get the foal to go further!

That said who would of thought an Extreme Choice would win the Melbourne Cup.  So things happen sometimes.
