On the handicap ratings Kiwia is entitled to 5.5kgs plus the WFA allowance.

On the other hand Charlevoix is fully exposed, Kawia is not.

If Kiwia races up to his best and runs the 2400m, as I fully expect him to then he wins. I've rated him a $1.85 chance.

Yep on potential he's the one to beat but his best win was when dictating in slow time over 2km. Handicapper says he's 2kgs over but reality is he could have almost levelled that up by winning last time. R&S has him $1.95  (90%) if you take out the silly -3kg for the last start fiasco.

It's a matter of whether you want to take 5/4 an unproven 3yo or 11/4 the in-form race-hardened older horse with Williams back on. Back one save the other.

Another 3yo coming out of that race called Dandre looks like he will stay all day, got smashed when Dunn bulldozed out but finished as strong as any.

Yep noticed that doing the form for Caulfield today Marscay. Not favoured at the weights compared to Kiwia but if he stays better that won't matter. Hayes named Charlevoix as his best this weekend.

That was a perfect example of Australian racing.

The winner had all the breaks today whilst unlucky last start.

No doubt at all the 5th horse should have won, but that is Aussie racing.

Too Good, a very good ride.

One of the biggest advantages the big trainers have are the Jockeys they have access too.

I was unsure he runs a strong 2400m before the race and still unsure after. I realise he's won over the trip. Just think he's better over 2000m.

He was up against a horse who ran 4th in a Melbourne Cup
For a horse having its first prep I would say this is an enormous feat.
He may have one more run this prep in the Queen Elizabeth before going out.

All things considered, I would call him ‘brave’. He ran a super race, just beaten by a bloody good horse.

Apparently been up since April with only a 3 week swimming break so could well be starting to feel the pinch too.
Wisdom has been chasing me but I've always outrun it!
