I think Dan has wandered off into the sunset with his $300,000 annual pension indexed for life to improve his golf handicap, provided he is welcome at any golf course in Victoria, so I think the thread “Dan Andrews “ can die a natural death, so I have started this new thread on Jacinta Allan, which I believe will not last long before she is challenged as the Premier of Victoria. I will give this thread 6 months at best.

Joyce was paid out by a public company, the shareholders will get their say on that, Dan was paid out of the public purse.Big difference Dan also sent Victoria broke, Joyce, albeit a joke, left Qantas with $ 2 billion in profit. |

If Jacinta Allan is not on borrowed time as Victoria’s new premier SC will be standing as a Liberal candidate at the next federal election.
Since becoming premier last week Allan did not know Tim Pallas , the treasurer was about to announce a new tax on vacate land, it has now come to light when Allan was deputy premier and the Minister for the Commonwealth Games she was not only unaware the Games were well over budget but she did not know the day before Dan cancelled the Games he had intention to do so, only yesterday she had a disagreement with her Attorney General about upcoming legislation over treatment of underage criminals running riot all over Melbourne stealing cars, home invasions and assaults.

She was selling the Comm Games hard on June 13 wasn't it? When did they discover that it would go billions over budget?

Months before and Jacinta Allan, the Minister for the Commonwealth Games was kept in the dark by Dan Andrews. Only the day before Dan announced their cancellation Allan was pumping up the Games. To think Allan was the deputy leader of the ALP all along that time, says a lot about Dictator Dan.

Following the murder last month of a criminal in a cafe in a northern suburb of Melbourne the crime wave continues.
Up to four masked gunmen are on the run after a man was killed and another seriously injured during a “targeted” drive-by shooting in Melbourne’s north. Police have cordoned off a crime scene at Craigieburn Central shopping centre after several gunshots were reportedly fired on two men sitting inside a parked vehicle about 3pm on Saturday afternoon. A 27-year-old Craigieburn man died at the scene on Windrock Ave while a 28-year-old Hadfield man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Jacinta Allan will come under pressure if this crime wave continues following the disclosure yesterday that when she was Minister for the Commonwealth Games the government blew $6 million in training Victoria police for those abandoned games which would have been enough to have employed 68 new police recruits. |

As long as they keep killing their mates, who cares ? Dont waste police time on them. Find who they are and give them another gun. Save us heaps in prison costs.

Innocent people often have to witness murders by those animals. And live in fear in the crime suburbs, which seem to be getting worse and worse.

Its a shame this is happening in normal neighbourhoods. Poor locals. Copping this from the local gangstas. The western Sydney area where I grew up seems to be drowned in this stuff now. And who moved into, and took over, the local hood ? The middle eastern mob. So if they wipe each other out, do the rest of us really care ??

Jacinta Allan, the new Premier of Victoria, despite being the Minister for the Commonwealth Games at the time of their abandonment, has refused to appear before a Upper House enquiry into the abandonment of those Games because she is not a member of the Upper House of Parliament and cannot be forced to do so.
Less than two weeks into the job as Premier Allan's credibility is already on the line as she continues to avoid scrutiny over her role in the Commonwealth Games debacle. Her story about what she knew and when she knew it changes by the day.

More than two months before Jacinta Allan told parliament
"tremendous progress" was being made on delivering the 2026
Commonwealth Games she was told by the event's chief the costs were going to be
"significantly in excess" of the original $2.6b budget. A bombshell letter – seen by The Australian – was sent by Peggy
O'Neal to the then 2026 Commonwealth Games minister on April 4, sounding alarm
bells over soaring costs and requesting an emergency funding boost of $729m. "We recognise that our revised figures are significantly in
excess of the original estimates from early 2022," Ms O'Neal stated in the
letter to Ms Allan. "This reflects the significant expansion of the
Commonwealth Games sports program since that time, the selection of
predominantly single purpose venues and the additional logistical, transport,
workforce and cost challenges of operating such a large regional
footprint." Ms O'Neal goes on to issue a blunt warning to Ms Allan over the
budget. "We recognise that our proposed budget will represent
significant challenges to Government as there are other competing demands on
scarce public resources," the Games chair wrote. "We have worked with OCG to identify scope reductions for
the government to consider that could materially reduce the budget
requirement." Ms O'Neil warns Ms Allan in the April 4 letter that organisers
were confronting "critical deadlines across all areas of our work
program". "At this critical stage of the program the most important
priority for the OC is to ensure that the overall budget and scope of the Games
are aligned – recognising the very short timeframes we have to design, procure
and deliver this complex and decentralised Games program." A financial table attached to the April 4 letter listed the main
cost blowouts including a $97.1m increase in "culture and
ceremonies", $93.5m in "tech and broadcast", $91.6m in
"workforce & accreditation", $20.2m in "sport", $12.4m
in "communication and marketing", $44.3m in "other costs"
and $261m in a "temporary overlay". This took the OC's budget request to $1.776.8 – up from the
original $1,047.5b. |

Bob, you're talking to everyone but indeed few. Only rusted-on righties are attempting to keep the Commonwealth Games imbroglio in the news.
They, you included, need to understand and accept that the vast majority of Victorians really couldn't give a tinker's carse about the matter. They're just happy the Government saved them $5-6b, and indeed why wouldn't they be? |

Do not know entirely about that. Quite a few sports are only in the Commonwealth Games, and not in the Olympics, and many of those competitors had set their sights on the Games and without notice they have had the rugged pulled out from under them. T20 Womens Cricket, lawn bowls, netball, squash, billiards, handball, lifesaving, indoor volleyball, & open water swimming immediately come to mind. |

Get a grip of reality Bob. The failed Commonwealth Games might perhaps turn hundreds or at best thousands of votes throughout Victoria, but certainly not enough to affect a single electorate.
Bottom line is that the Allan government will either sink or swim on the basis of its performance over the next three years.

Nothing to do with Jacinta but thought you might like this, Bob. In UK they created a word cloud from people's responses to what they thought of a pollie. The most common responses are the biggest words. Gave me a chuckle. I wonder what Dan's word cloud would have looked like.
