It's only three weeks away. Shocked

I've a liking for Lot 485 for several reasons, including:

a. it's a winning female family, one which has been very selectively developed;
b. the nicks between the top and bottom halves of her pedigree that are very much proven; and
c. love the simple but excellent duplications in the 4th and 5th generation of the filly's pedigree.

Any comments re the above but more particularly your own fancies are invited!

Synopsis of Findings

Lot 385 displays a balanced dosage and profile, indicating strong versatility with an emphasis on intermediate distances. The Vuillier dosage and Pedigree profile suggest a blend of speed and stamina, while the index aligns with suitability for races in the 1400m–1800m range, The influence of Alabama Express enhances speed and adaptability, and Sweet Anna contributes stamina and class, as reflected in their respective indices. The Female line is arguably the best or close to  in NZ, The taproot Locket has produced 80 pages of descendants on my DB with the likes of Grosvenor, Gay Poss, Lonhro, and many many more stakeswinners and G1 winners

The Group racing potential for this filly is present, contingent on individual development and management, but the pedigree alone does not guarantee Group success. Based strictly on the Vuillier dosages, pedigree profiles, and indexes analysis, this filly is rated 7/10 for group potential. This score reflects her well-balanced genetic makeup, offering a solid foundation for success at intermediate distances, while acknowledging that her ultimate Group performance will depend on her development, management, and racing opportunities.

This cross is best suited for campaigns targeting intermediate distance races, with flexibility to adapt as indicated by future maturity. performance and conformation

Same family (No 8) as the one I'm interested in Furious!

Not too bad imo, if unexceptionable.

Compared with Lot 485 which is bigger, better, and far more athletic.

As a vendor my boss prefers to foal down colts. From a sales’ perspective it opens up the Asian market.

As an owner I’ve always preferred fillies. At least there’s the possibility of some sort of residual value.

Who’s right?

As per usual finding matches I am happy with are elusive in the sub$100k mkt

Furious you may be interested to know we have a 7.5% share in the mare Hot Opera by Too Darn Hot from La Boheme.

There's not a lot of her so has been given plenty of time to furnish.  Has had just one start so far, is about a month off resuming, and we're hopeful she can win one or two over about 1600m.

Even if she proves to be no star her residual value remains relatively substantial.

Hi Allan,

Hot Opera showed further improvement in her second jumpout this morning at Cranbourne over 1000m.
She began well from the barriers and with no one else wanting to lead she found herself in front. She ran along in her own rhythm and travelled strongly into the straight. She cruised to the line under her own esteem and it was only the Mick Price horse who was ridden along that was able to catch her in the final stages of the jumpout.
She looks to be going better than ever at the moment and providing she pulls up okay from today's hit out, she should be ready to head to the races within the next couple of weeks. She'll obviously be better suited when she gets to 1600m but she's going well enough to be competitive early in her campaign and hopefully she can pick up her first win in the not too distant future.
Attached is a video with the replay of her jump-out and Bailey Kinninmont's thoughts on how she performed.

I've a liking for Lot 485....

Gone somewhat cold on this one.  Fair rein but lacks size which isn't obvious in her walk through.

Well done furious!   Thumbs Up

A very quick, early going female family.

Took there time starting to show something.  Ghana's Akan and Agrarian Girl also in the stable.  Both Premier's.  Ghana's Akan is a SAfrican family which is firing big time and he was $160K and Agrarian Girl is an interesting pedigree but she was dearer than I wanted.  Canny Lad over a mare inbred to the sisters Canny Miss and Canny Lass.
