Little doubt some on here will find this decision divisive:

I have a philatelic collection of Australian and Australian territories dating back to the 1930s and I can assure although Nicholls is worthy of being on a postage stamp, stamps are becoming like a dodo, extinct. Emails , pre-paid envelopes and franking on envelopes have made stamps a novelty.

The achievements of Sir Douglas Nicholls are many and varied, taking in the fields of sport, politics and social justice. He broke new ground — as the first Indigenous Australian to receive a knighthood in 1972, and the first to be appointed to vice-regal office, when he became Governor of South Australia in 1976.He also played Aussie Rules football in the then VFL.

If he did all that I reckon a stamp would be a nice thing to recognise all his good work.

Good - let them go with the Chinese. Got to stand up to them at some point. I reckon if we pulled our support they would gelati themselves. They would not want the Chinese in there pulling the strings any more than we would over here. And the other Pacific Nations would ostracise them as well. Make them a reasonable & tell them that's it

The entire Western World for starters. A decade of neglect by successive Coalition Governments compared with continuous activity by the Chinese over the last four or so years. And Oneone wants to point the bone at Penny Wong.
