Bosch Legacy came out about June '22, have you seen that one? Right up to standard & they're making another Bosch but apparently heading in a different direction.
A brilliant hidden gem is The Wire as it keeps up the momentum over 5 seasons. Super cast & very believable Clap
It takes a wise man a lifetime to grow a tree and a fool five minutes to kill one.

The Last of Us is an American post-apocalyptic drama television series created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for HBO. Based on the 2013 video game developed by Naughty Dog, the series is set in 2023, twenty years after a mass fungal infection caused by a mutation in the genus Cordyceps sparked a global pandemic. The infection causes its hosts to transform into rabid, hostile creatures resembling zombies. The series follows Joel (Pedro Pascal), a smuggler tasked with escorting the teenage Ellie (Bella Ramsey) across a post-apocalyptic United States.

Tongue once again fungus finds its way into sci fi. The cordyceps strain of fungi is fascinating and has really spurned a lot of peoples imaginations about being taken over/zombies etc.. I'm telling you peoples the world of fungi is very under researched and very little known about compared to other things yet it is one of the largest organisms on this planet.

Deary me this was just outstanding, watched it last night after cricket and immediately wanted to watch it again it was that good.

Honestly one the greatest ideas for a movie ever, all you are doing is watching her computer screen the whole time, but its so engrossing and dark, fmd its a dark film, was left feeling really dark and morbid at the end. Do yourselves a favour and watch this on netflix now.

This is really good, I have a real love of watching these docs about big corporate scammers and frauds, this one is particularly interesting because one of the masterminds of ENRON, Jeffrey Skilling is out of prison, he was released in 2019 and is starting up again with another old ENRON staffer.

There is another longer film doc somewhere but I haven't watched it yet.

rented this on apple over the weekend for $2.99 and I must say it was awesome, its basically a love story with a beautiful back story about book writing, nature and biology, I don't normally go for love stories but this was an exceptionally nice film.

The book is so much better Fiddles.  The film leaves you missing a lot of the atmosphere and misses some of her close connections , like with the old black dude who runs the shop/wharf place on the water for instance.
Did you know the woman who wrote this book was  charged with shooting dead a poacher in Africa ?  She lived and researched in the Kalahari for 7 years and there is an interesting book about it, by her and her partner.

I haven't read the book no but a lot of people in the comments section claim the film does it justice whereas most films don't come close to being as good as the book. I loved the biology part and her drawings and connection with nature, that part was mesmerising for me.

any of you seen Wind River ?

I really enjoyed this, I just wish it went for longer and drilled down deeper into the back stories because it was so engrossing, very powerful stuff. I did not know this but in the US there are no statistics collected on how many native American women go missing annually, none, that is just so disgraceful imo.

House of the Dragon?

It only came out late last year. Bit different to GOT but I think it is building into a big second season.

The other 5 or so series branching from it have all been shelved except maybe the John Snow series.

I really enjoyed House of Dragon.

Just finished a couple on Apple TV. Slow Horses, See & Morning Wars. All very good.

I didn’t think I’d like them, initially  but looking forward to the new seasons of Ted Lasso and Yellowstone

Full Swing

https://www.netflix.com/au/title/81483353

It's good. Better than the F1 Netflix doco series because there are more potential winners. If golf was like F1 only one or two players could win anything because they have the best clubs.Wink

Was going to cancel my Netflix subscription as I'm not getting value for money lately, very few shows worth it for my kinda narrowish tastes, but I thought I'd give it one more chance and so started watching the documentary series on the Malaysia airlines flight MH370 disappearance. Pretty interesting and extremely emotional and dark, when the airline investigative journalist who talks throughout gives his description step by step of how he thinks it went down, whoa a really dark calmness comes over you as you go through and imagine what it was like inside that cockpit. Riveting stuff and well worth watching.

Who could have predicted that when they made cockpits secure so crazy hijackers couldn't get in there we'd have crazy pilots.Ouch

That theory is kind of dead in the water pardon the pun. They don't believe the pilot had anything to do with taking the plane on a suicide mission.

What gets me about MH370 is there was no way to ping the plane through it's flight recorder or some other intentional way built into the plane, a way that couldn't be turned off by switches in the computer room, where every plane can be tracked no matter if every single switch is turned off. There should be on every plane a high powered locator run by high powered long acting battery that lasts 30 days and can be pinged by satellite no matter where the plane goes down. With all the tech we have, GPS, satellites, spy balloons, cameras etc etc it baffles the mind that we cannot locate a giant plane full people anywhere on earth.

Fiddlesticks with all the tech and knowledge we have we should of floodproofed and fireproofed our homes and businesses.  Worked out how to manage droughts and floods.  Learned lessons from the past because no one wants to remember what happened and seem to rewrite history to please the masses.  Please if you want to forget the past we'll have another hitler.  Oh what we probably have a few of them wandering the planet right now.

I can't stand watching things that are too dark so it amazed me when the children made me watch Wednesday (based on the Addams Family) that I actually liked it.  Probably so far out of reality that I didn't relate to real people?  But air plane crash shows scare the living daylights out of me.  And I can't stand zombie shows and they seem to be everywhere.

I don't watch anything zombie and rarely any horror, but I love real life stories/documentaries, no matter how dark or happy, drama is my thing though, police mysteries also, love sci fi but only certain types, can't stand Star Wars but love Star trek. I don't mind watching plane crash documentaries now as I won't be flying anywhere ever again unless I get deported back to the motherland..lol
