"I'm watching the seven part miniseries, John Adams"

I find Paul Giamatti's hypercaffeinated acting style hard to take. Has he ever given a restrained performance?

"It’s the stuff of legend. Honoré de Balzac cranked out 50+ novels in 20 years and died at 51. The cause? Too much work and caffeine. How much coffee? Up to 50 cups per day, they say."

No wonder Giamatti got the role.

I'm watching it because I'm on a Laura Linney roll...

Ozark, John Adams... I want to watch The Big C, but am having problems accessing it.

Missed it the first time around.

Thanks for the reminder to watch John Adams - saw bits of it years ago and thought it was brilliant. Loved it when he met the English king.

Ozark was surprisingly good, considering the violence and drug content.

Still in awe of Helen's brains being splattered over Wendy and Marty...

 Great special effects...

SLOW HORSES on apple TV + Mi5 has it's main building with all its main top people, it also has another  building called Slough house, this is where all their crappy Mi5 agents the ones who have been disciplined or done something something wrong, that's where they go. Gary Oldman plays their boss, they go out and solve these dark mysteries and terrorism plots etc, its a seriously good watch.

Apple TV+ is $7.99 a month, plus the beauty of being a subscriber to apple TV is you can simply search for any film or series and it will find it for you, you can then rent it for as low 99c or buy brand new releases etc, between Apple TV and Netflix there isn't any other service you need. Apple TV+ lets you watch all the new release TV stuff for the price, a lot of these series are top notch.

When I first starting watching SEVERANCE I was quite taken back by the premise of the story, by the time I was 2 episodes in I was mesmerised, never have I seen anyone come up with a story like this, it's unbelievably good, intricate and strange, beautiful and dark at the same time, the cast is perfect, the sets are out of this world, the fashion, the makeup everything perfect, and the production quality is second to none. When season 1 ended I was left wanting for more more more.. a very very different type of story, this has never been done before that I know of, pleasantly surprised, it tickled my brain beautifully.

Watched this last night, I enjoyed it, there were endless parallels between my own life as a teen growing up in Forster ( moved there when I was 12 ) and this film, It really gave me so many flashbacks of nostalgia..

Black Bird is great Gay, its based of a true story, which is why I liked it so much. it's very hard to watch and gets very frustrating at times, nonetheless it can be good to put yourself out of your comfort zone sometimes.

Watched this again last night, it really is an outstanding documentary. It makes you extremely mad but at the same time it's good to understand what these criminal do and how they do it.

Matt Damon does a great job narrating it too.

There is one boring old trope that is a feature of many cop detective dramas that really annoys me. Brilliant detective brilliantly solves one very difficult case per episode but his colleagues, especially his bosses, are constantly questioning his competence. Come on! Get real! Even a tiny bit real.

Haven't seen the series. Only 5 episodes dropped of 10 to be released so far, but the Russell Crowe movie of the same name is an absolute Barry Crocker.

I've recently found a really cool old series on Plex (a free streaming service I didn't even know my TV had!)

The Fugitive. Don't know if it was shown in Oz back in the day but was huge in the US in the 60s. The Harrison Ford movie was based on it.

I read a funny thing in a review of The Fugitive - they eventually stopped mentioning the time that had elapsed between each new change of identity/ episode, because over 120 episodes he would have been on the run for about 30 years. 😅
