Interesting and a fair call imo Shawy, though am surprised a Prism owners audio could be downloaded 'cos that way third parties could be given digital inside info.

Benalla abandoned after race 3

Victoria’s Monday meeting at Benalla has been abandoned after three races due to visibility concerns.

Three maiden events were completed before on the Heavy (10) track, downgraded from Heavy (8) retrospectively to the first race at 1pm, before the eight-race card was scrapped 90 minutes later.

As per standard practice, the jockeys riding in the fourth race, the $27,000 Foote Waste Solutions Maiden Plate (1406m), voted on whether to continue the meeting and the majority of 14 jockeys due to ride in the event decided it was unsafe to proceed.

Racing.com’s on-course correspondent Ben Sporle reported that jockeys were comfortable with the condition of the track but had visibility concerns due to the level of ‘kick back’ from the turf surface.

Victorian racing moves to Ballarat Synthetic on Tuesday with the next turf meeting in the state scheduled for Sandown Lakeside on Wednesday with the track officially rated Soft (6) as of 8am on Monday morning.

There has been widespread rainfall across Melbourne since that track inspection and with further rain forecast on Tuesday, Sandown Lakeside is likely to race in the heavy range.

Billy Egan has undergone secondary surgery following his race fall at Pakenham Synthetic last Friday.

Egan was cleared of all breaks in his left arm, as once feared, but was later diagnosed with compartment syndrome, requiring an operation in the early hours of Saturday.

The 32-year-old jockey had further surgery at Dandenong Hospital on Monday to address nerve and ligament damage.

“He’s had another surgery on Monday, he’s been in quite a bit of discomfort,” VJA boss Matt Hyland said.

“We are confident the surgery will aid his recovery.

“Post this latest surgery we will then be in a better position to assess his recovery time.”

Egan has been in wonderful form this season and prior to his fall was second on the Victorian Jockeys Premiership with 12 wins already in August.

Just half an hour before his fall at Pakenham Synthetic, Egan punched home Field Of Roses ($9) to bring up trainer Gavin Bedggood’s first winner for the new season.

Alan Kelly pulls their pants down with a marvelous leading and winning performance over 2400 at Sandown today, before later giving a start and railing to win over 1200.

She's a seriously talented jockey.
