Coolmore has confirmed that Justify, the sire of star two-year-old Learning To Fly, will return to Australia this spring.

In releasing its 2023 stallion roster on Wednesday night, Coolmore announced that the US Triple Crown winner, who stood at Jerry's Plains from 2019-2021 before being rested in 2022, will again be available to Australian breeders.

Jusitfy has sired three individual winners from his first Southern Hemisphere crop of two-year-olds, including multiple Stakes winner and Inglis Millennium heroine Learning To Fly.

His service fee was not announced on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Coolmore flagbearers Fastnet Rock ($110,000 - down from $165,000 in 2022), So You Think ($99,000 - up from $93,500 in 2022) and Pierro ($82,500 - down from $99,000 in 2022) are again at the pointy end of the roster, along with young star Home Affairs ($99,000 - down from $110,000 in 2022).

Wootten Basset ($93,500), St Mark's Basilica ($44,000) and Churchill ($22,000) will again shuttle to Australia, as will Cox Plate hero State Of Rest's sire Starspangledbanner ($33,000).

Best Of Bordeaux, the Stakes-winning son of Snitzel, will stand his first season at $27,500.

Notable omissions from Coolmore's roster include Merchant Navy, Magna Grecia and Saxon Warrior.

Wisdom has been chasing me but I've always outrun it!

HI SC,
Some interesting takes on the advertised numbers
Pride of Dubai was shopped at $9.9k last season,
Magna Garcia 12k plus the quote (of cause he will be back next year Coolmore Australia Management are backing this horse in with our own mares he is here for the long haul) end quote,
Think we will struggle to get a cover to Choisir,

Serious Question
In the opinion of the group
Coolmore in 2021 had Calyx and Magna Grecia both from the Invincible Spirit line, now but are gone without a blink from the industry does this help or hinder the marketing of Home Affairs or is it inconsequential.
Strange little fact both Home Affairs and Magna Garcia finished tailed off in their Last Race both at Royal Ascot

Calyx is going gangbusters up north shame he is not coming.

Oldfight being a cynic I would suggest they are trying to help the imposter that is Home Affairs.

Thankfully St Marks Basilica is still coming, Superstar horse who will hopefully be supported.

Ballydoyle does not have a single Calyx in training and as far as I can remember they never had a So You Think either.

Hi Djebel,

Were does the comma go ? Confused

Oldfight (here) being a cynic (here)I would suggest they are trying to help the imposter that is Home Affairs.

I would suggest both are correct, plus I am sure many agree with both.

Have a great week end
and for what its worth, I agree with your comment but think more is behind it as Magna Grecia covered less than 20 mares last season and was shopped very hard to anybody that went to an Invincible Spirit line Stallion the year before. They rang me 4 or 5 times

Out of 24 brought to auction, Calyx had only 13 first-crop yearlings sell in 2023 (so far) and half of them sold for < $40,000.  Magna Grecia didn't do much better, with 24 sold, 9 passed in, and 10 withdrawn, although the median sales price for him was at least profitable.  They weren't getting good enough results and thus they stopped shuttling.

By contrast, Justify had 64 yearlings sell his first season/9 passed in, Pierro had 39 sell for $200k or more, and the mighty So You Think had 74 sell for a median of $130k in their respective first crops.
