Why no comments?

Many were hoping for a quadruple...
Maybe he should of been sent for a rest after winning the three derbys.

I thought nonetheless he looked a but tired in the straight, but was a super run nonetheless.

Other thoughts?

He’s had an amazing 3yo campaign & good on connections for having a crack at history going for a 4th Derby.  He certainly didn’t disgrace himself either toughing it out on inferior ground to run 3rd.

He’d be heading for a richly deserved break now I’m sure.  The question is now, where does he fit in for the Spring?

The 2 big Cups are probably tempting but after such a busy time as a late 3yo, would a less arduous Spring be more suitable?

Maybe skip the Cups & aim at the $750k Zipping Classic at the end of the Spring?

I'd imagine he will have a nice small spring.

2 runs into the Melbourne Cup.

What those 2 runs should be I will work out later.

Good to see this star 3yo resuming today at MV over 1600.

Now a 5yo he had a disappointing (& in my opinion overly ambitious) 4yo spring campaign and has been sidelined for over a year.

Wouldn’t expect him to be in the placings today, but just be working to the line solidly.

Love to see him recapture some form over the autumn. Personally I’d be targeting him at the Manion Cup 2400m, Sydney Cup 3200m & Andrew Ramsden Stks 2800m.

Two runs at 1600m behind Pounding after a long, long spell gave contained merit.

3rd up into the Canberra Cup 2000m tomorrow.  Would prefer at 2100m+ trip but tempted to have something on him each way tomorrow at around $9 win just in case he really hits his straps.

Anyone like this guy in the Tancred today?

Ciaron sounded very positive when interviewed on radio about his chances of running a big race, so I’ll have a place bet on him.

Followed through with a speculative place bet on EJ today for a tidy $6.00 dividend.  Ruing not being on each way but didnt have any confidence that he’d bump off the 2 Joseph O’Brien raiders (geez they were both awful).

Hats off to Ciaron Maher yard in getting this guy back to his top again.  Had such a busy 3yo season & a Cups campaign as a spring 4yo.  Then had a year off and now as a 5yo picks up his 3rd G1 win Clap

When was the last time an AJC Derby winner, subsequently won a Sydney Cup??  Kingston Town perhaps??

He has had a relatively light prep Lord and I would love to see him stay in work and not be given the full 3 month spell.

I would love to see him take on Whjte Marlin in the Ramsden, but that will not happen now that he has earnt his Melbourne Cup spot.

If High Emocean can run third in a Melbourne Cup this guy can do as well, on a soft or worse track.

Noticed the reigning Sydney Cup winner is missing from Melb Cup noms released this week.

Anyone know if he’s had an injury setback?

I heard that he had a minor setback (unsure of exact nature) after his trial in July and had to be sent for a short spell. Back in work now, but Cup will be too soon for him.
