The main point for me would be his suitability for the mare/s concerned Big smile
Wisdom has been chasing me but I've always outrun it!

fp50 there are quite a few opinions about him in two particular threads, ie the 2020/21 First Season Sires and Pierro threads - both of which are in the Stallions forum.

And as Gay recommends, if you have one or more mares by all means give us their names and we can suggest whether Frosted may or may not suit them.

But if you just want a simple answer, his oldest crop of 2yo's are going great and he has a starter in the this Saturday's Golden slipper.

First crop in Oz so far this season: 9 starters, 6 winners, two stakes-winners.  Still leading the 2nd Season sires list in the USA.

And I'm happy, as you can see from this post elsewhere on here: "Furious, have a look at Lot 307 from the 2020 MM Adelaide catalogue (Frosted - Gloray), and compare her female family with...Lot 93 Melbourne Premier 2021 which we've bought a share in. The Adelaide filly sold for just $18,000 and we were quick to buy a 10% share in her. I really believe, given Frosted's early success, that if offered today she would have brought $150,000".

Chuckanev the 3yo half brother to our Frosted filly "Frosty Lass" had his second start today at Wangaratta, five months after debuting with a 2nd placing.

Backed for a stack, misses the start, settles last, turns for home 2nd-last and wins by close to 3 lengths.  Certainly appears to have a future.

Even more excited about our gal now, who returned to the paddock about 10 days ago for a six weeks rest after displaying natural ability in her work and a jump-out.

Thanks Slowdown.  You may be interested to know that your Tassie "neighbour" Graeme McCulloch owns Gloray.  He sold our filly as a yearling for $40k, but the new owners fell flat when they tried to pinhook her in Adelaide as a yearling and had to settle for just $18k.

So what with that and Chuckanev's success we're more than happy thus far.

Re our half-sister by Frosted:

BENDIGO trainer Rod Symons has confirmed the sale of his gun three-year-old Chuckanev to Hong Kong interests.

The impressive gelding won two of his three Victorian starts, scoring back-to-back victories at Wangaratta and Bendigo in April and May this year, following a second on debut at Kilmore last November.

It was following his win on his home track on May 21 that Symons declared Chuckanev as potentially one of the best horses he had trained in his decades-long career.

He said the sale was in some ways bittersweet.  "He has been sold to Hong Kong and he won't race here anymore," he said.  "It was good money, but we are losing a good horse. It's been a while since I have a good horse like him.

Did you breed him ?  Sad you had to sell but best to if money is good - someone once said best to sell and forget than keep and regret

No ribot90, we have no equity in Chuckanev.  Just happened to buy into his younger sister.

So what happened here with Frosted, was it type (for Sale) or performance, a mix of the two
Only covering 23 mare and heavily discounted down from over 130 the previous 2 years.
I have not seen enough of them to have an opinion
so hence the question

Ciao For Now Oldflight

Started ok but ultimately hugely disappointing.  Sold well early but you couldn't give his latest away.  Just ok even in the USA where he stands for $10k after $40k and then $25k earlier on.
