Far from over for Cuomo, dont celebrate at half time.

The decision to SUSPEND was made solely by the speaker claiming they may not have enough to constitutionally impeach him YET. Investigations and inquiries on both state and federal level into falsifying nursing home deaths is far from over and was always going to form a major part of the impeachment.

He is out of the way now, so they can let these things run their course.

Yes in NY impeachment conviction prevents you from running for any further office in the state, the reason for this impeachment. No imperative for immediate removal with his resignation, but the process will continue.

Was the same reason for second Trump impeachment after his loss last November. Conviction would have killed off any Trump 2024 bid.

Impeachment is a political process. If Trump was removed from office I would support that. It has no bearing on the criminal justice system.

Correct, impeachment is a political process, not legal. The civil and criminal investigations have been running parallel.

Same in New York

The Constitution requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate to convict, and the penalty for an impeached official upon conviction is removal from office. In some cases, the Senate has also disqualified such officials from holding public offices in the future. There is no appeal. Since 1789 about half of Senate impeachment trials have resulted in conviction and removal from office.

Put some thought into your home town .    It is the one on life support ATM , after all that BS about showing the world how .    Easy when you don't even have the Virus in the same proportion as O'seas had to endure early.


Laughing stock of the whole world now .   Most locked down city in the world and we don't have the virus by comparison .
   Maybe thats why our commentators have to get some off shore numbers to support the Fears and Hysterical over reactions .

   At least the inevitable ball game is now changing .. we may be able to buy some covid on line soon.

Bad couple of months for anyone named Cuomo.


New York (CNN)CNN said Saturday that anchor Chris Cuomo has been "terminated" by the network, "effective immediately."

The announcement came after an outside law firm was retained to review information about exactly how Cuomo aided his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, when the then-governor was accused of sexual harassment.
CNN said in a statement: "Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother's defense. We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately."
    "While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light," CNN's statement added. "Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate."
      In a statement of his own Saturday, Chris Cuomo said, "This is not how I want my time at CNN to end but I have already told you why and how I helped my brother. So let me now say as disappointing as this is, I could not be more proud of the team at Cuomo Prime Time and the work we did as CNN's #1 show in the most competitive time slot. I owe them all and will miss that group of special people who did really important work."
      While the contours of Chris Cuomo's involvement with the governor's office were reported several months ago, the specifics were detailed in a massive document dump on Monday. The documents -- released by New York Attorney General Letitia James after an investigation into the governor -- showed that Chris Cuomo, while working as one of CNN's top anchors, was also effectively working as an unpaid aide to the governor. more

      Groping charge against former NY Governor Cuomo is dropped

      Albany’s top prosecutor set to drop a criminal charge accusing former Governor Andrew Cuomo of fondling an aide.

      The development in Albany comes after two prosecutors in the New York City suburbs separately announced that Cuomo would not face criminal charges for allegations involving other women...


      On Monday, a lawyer for Cuomo said the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office told him it had closed an investigation into how Cuomo’s office handled nursing homes during the coronavirus pandemic. The office declined to comment and had not disclosed what it was looking into.

      But Cuomo faced public scrutiny over his administration’s reporting of nursing home residents’ deaths when the pandemic hit in 2020 and over an order that barred the homes from turning away recovering hospital patients because they had COVID-19.

      The state attorney general, meanwhile, has been investigating Cuomo’s use of aides to help craft and promote his pandemic memoir. Cuomo said they volunteered, using their personal time.

      The New York State ethics commission last month ordered Cuomo to repay more than $5m in compensation for the book, titled, American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic.
